Great location with easy access to lake and town, beautiful views, and exceptional owner communication. We had a fantastic stay, property was very clean and Lisa responded very quickly with great recommendations. Our pups also enjoyed the property and local activities. Highly recommend if you are considering visiting the Glenville area!

We loved the mountain and lake views. The house is as promised in the description. The neighborhood is great for walking dogs down to the lake. Lake access and community dock was a plus. Lisa is a super gracious host. Thank you for sharing your home with us for our family vacation.

Great getaway

Loved our stay at this property for a long weekend getaway. Very clean property and a great location well situated to explore Cashiers and Highlands area. Communication and information about the area was top notch. We enjoyed several of the recommended hikes.

Perfect getaway

This rental was everything we have been looking for in a VRBO in the Lake Glenville area. The location was so easy to find thanks to our host who went over and beyond with clear communication of the property. The house was spacious and well stocked just like being in our own home. We enjoyed the short walk to the lake with our fur baby. We are already planning our next visits! Thanks Lisa!

Beautiful views

This area is gorgeous. There are a lot of trails and waterfalls around to explore. The kayaks are great to have to explore or fish on the lake. It’s quiet and peaceful. The upper level of the house is very nice, pretty well equipped kitchen. Amazing views from the living room and the covered back deck. 20 min from Cashiers which is quaint with groceries, some restaurants, a brewery, some shopping. Just a beautiful area all around.

The cabin is a well designed 3br with two up and a giant basement suite that was perfect for the couple with the baby. So here are plusses and minuses for this cabin: Positives: Great setup. Beautiful views. Fire pit area fun. 5-10’ walk to community lake dock and cabin’s kayaks. Good common area. Minuses:If you’re here in deep winter, the heat isn’t quite what it needs to be. It got better when one of our coats fell behind a bench and decorative box and we found out there was another wall heater we didn’t see or know about until our last day. The fireplace downstairs isn’t vented, and should not be used but very sparingly IM, despite being deemed to have safety shutoffs by the owner. WiFi is good most of time, but sporadic, so if needed to do work there, may be issues. Make sure to get instructions for the tv before you go; They were not provided in the cabin as mentioned in the write up. There is only one outdoor trash can, not the two mentioned in the write up, so we had to bring some trash into town and find an unlocked dumpster. I would definitely stay here again in the spring, fall or summer now that I know how the cabin operates.

I am sorry that the guest feels that there were inadequacies at the house. In truth, the fireplace stove is 4 years old and was purchased, installed and is maintained by a reputable and licensed gas company who confirms that the fireplace stove is extremely safe, using convection technology to operate without any harmful gases or fumes. The house is also ideal for winter occupation since it has a large double sided propane fireplace, and several mini splits that supply as much heat (and AC) as any guest would like. Additionally, the house does include tv directions and adequate exterior garbage storage. Finally, NC mountains is an extremely rural area with WiFi working the best the utility provides. It works well and business/personal WiFi needs, including online video calls, can be enjoyed without problems.

Our family has been coming to the mountains of NC for many years . What a beautiful place to escape the Florida summer. We are a water family and Lake Glenville really is our favorite place to be. While this home is not on the lake it does have the lake view and a designated boatslip , and 2 kayaks! It's an easy walk down a little harder back . Lisa our host was very communicative from the get go. She certainly went above and beyond sending us lots of information about local happenings etc. Check In was easy, the house was immaculate and well stocked. We loved the double sided gas fireplace. So nice to drink coffee with a cozy fire on a cool morning. The biggest win was being able to bring our dog Finn along. He deserves a break from the florida heat too! He loved hanging on the deck , our morning walks and hanging out at the fire pit. This house is easily one of favorites and we look forward to booking with Lisa again in the future.

Cutest cabin on the lake with new renovations and super helpful owner

Our experience at Caribou Cabin was a 10/10!! We arrived at night but our cabin notes from Lisa were super helpful and thorough (provided to us weeks in advance)! The cabin renovations felt brand new and done well. Beautiful gas fireplace, new kitchen appliances and farmhouse sink, barn sliding doors, beautiful bathroom vanities high enough for us tall people, and comfy bedding and beds! The view from our master bed every morning was so amazing that we left our blinds open on the full glass doors so that we could soak in every sunrise over the lake. The yard was huge and I loved that it is cleared and grassy so that we could enjoy the walk around the property and the amazing firepit. Hubby built a huge fire that we had to enjoy from the covered roof back porch on the last night because it was raining. Lastly, the downstairs apartment was perfect for our teen! She loved having her own space. By the way, the highlight of our trip was visiting Arrowmont Stables for a horse trail ride through the mountains! Lisa has thought of it all from the farmhouse chic renovations to the detailed notes on things to do in the area! Thank you for helping us make lasting family memories!

This home was nicely updated and was very clean. We enjoyed the fireplace and the expansive deck. The slope of the yard was rather steep- might not work for small children. The fire pit was awesome! Lisa was easy to communicate with…☺️

Amazing escape!

Walking into this home, you are immediately hit with just an absolutely stunning view. The home is gorgeous, clean, and relaxing. We are hoping to make this an annual stay. Lisa went above and beyond to keep us informed about everything included detailed information about the area. I highly recommend hiking to High Falls and renting a pontoon boat to explore Lake Glenville! Both the hike and marina are just minutes away. We came to escape for a few days and just fell in love with the area. We will be back to the Caribou Cabin!

Perfect Lake Vacation

The property was exactly as described. Perfect set up for a family if 5 with younger kids. Great that they had a boat slip so we didn't have to worry about the rental. All and all a great trip and rental. Highly recommend!

Perfect North Carolina Mountain Home

We loved our stay in this beautiful mountain home. It is a pretty and very comfortable home with terrific views. Great access to hiking and local towns are easy to get to. Definitely recommend this spot.

What an amazing place!

This was our first time at Lake Glenville and what a wonderful and relaxing week we had! The house was perfect and had some beautiful views. I cannot put into words how stunning the sunrise was that we woke up to every morning. Lake access was so easy and we spent every day floating and kayaking and paddle boarding. The pup is a total lake doggie now! Lisa was so helpful in checking in on us and giving us tips on what to do. We will definitely be back!!
