Our one-of-a-kind, rustic, log home is a spectacular hidden diamond located in the beautiful rolling hills. Imagine you, your partner, your family and/or friends spending the night together in the comforts of a two level 6,000 square foot large log home. With 24 person (22 person from Oct-May) sleeping availability you could take your rustic get away experience to the next level of fun and memories made here when you stay in this rustic gem. Whether you need a quiet escape or a bachelor/ette weekend, this is for you.

Our hosts were fabulous to work with. They responded quickly to any questions and were very accommodating. The property was gorgeous! We would highly recommend for weddings or functions. The home had everything we needed and more. The beds were so COMFY! I don’t know if it was all the activities, the linens or what but we all slept so well. The kids had the best time and the home was beautifully decorated for Christmas. It was absolutely magical! We are first time users of VRBO and this was such a positive experience. We so hope the hosts will let us come back for our bi-annual family Christmas celebration. I don’t think you could find a better place to stay, enjoy the festive season and gorgeous atmosphere. Thank you so much Diamond in the Rough!!!!! We so appreciate everything and had a very special stay. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Weekend getaway

Our group stayed for a weekend at the cabin for a surprise birthday party. The property was exactly as described. The cabin had plenty of room inside and out for our group. The host played along with the initial surprise which was most appreciated. The perfect place for a quiet and private retreat. I would return to this property for a group event again.

Annual Reunion

Every year I gather with eleven of my cousins. It can be challenging to find enough space for twelve adults. This home met all of our needs. - The kitchen was amazing and well provisioned everything that we needed, including space! - There was an actual bed for everyone there. No hide-a-beds, no air mattress, a real bed. - There was a hot tub (only one of my cousins used it). It would be lovely during cooler weather, right out the patio door, but it was HOT out and an outside bath didn't appeal to most. - Location was great, we had folks from Hinton to Calgary and in between, so a nice, relatively central area. - The grounds are beautiful, quiet and peaceful. - There is a wedding venue 'next door', and it looked amazing. We took our annual picture in the "wedding" area. :) Beautiful backdrops. Communication with the host has been easy. Bev was patient with all my questions :) Highly recommend this home for a group escape!

Smarties gathering

This log cabin is a gem in central Alberta, built in 1975, immaculately well kept by the owners Bev & her husband. They are great hosts with timely communication for us to organize this weekend getaway. We would definitely recommend this log cabin to others and would love to go back again.

wonderful venue for our bachelor/ette getaway!

We had an amazing time here and would definitely love to come back again! The photos did not do it justice; it was more spacious than we expected. A few things we wish we knew before coming to stay: -the property is bordered by some sweet donkeys and horses that added unexpected joy to our weekend! we were also regularly visited by some farm cats -the cabin is part of a wedding venue so there was work being done on the property while we were there -be sure to ask the host for directions before heading out; the address on the Vrbo listing takes you to the wrong place

Weekend fun

Awesome place for a larger gathering! Tons of space for outdoor games. The house definitely is bigger than what the pictures show. The listing address when you get the info is wrong and sends you no where close to the place. Otherwise - once we found it, awesome location!!

Family Christmas

Wonderful house.- everything we could need was provided and then some. Lots of room for all of us to eat, sleep and for the kids to play.. One of our best ever Christmas get-togethers.

Retreat with Colleagues

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Diamond in the Rough. The amenities and grounds are just stunning, located in a quiet and beautifully secluded area that is just perfect for rejuvenation and bonding. Bev is an absolute star host - she thought of everything. Checking in and out was so simple. Thank you so much Bev!!!
