Couple of stains on the carpet but other than that overall a really good stay. Close to Kotara Westfields and the homemaker centre as well as food spots. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, wish it didn’t rain as much so we could have taken advantage of the amenities in the backyard. Alex was responsive and provided clear instructions on check in and check out. Recommend this stay!

This is a 70 year old mansion that has seen better days. The property is no longer luxurious and needs a lot of love and care. There are a number of things which were unsatisfactory. The stove top gas burners had to be lit by a match and continually went out so we had to cook on the BBQ. The liquid soap dispensers in the bathrooms did not have liquid soap. The pull out bed had no sheet. The upper bunk bed is too small for adults. Some light bulbs did not light. The TV in one of the living rooms didn't work, perhaps because of the remote control. 2 showers are not adequate for 7 adults.We were only in the house for 2 nights and not for very long during the day so there are probably other deficiencies which would affect people who were in the house for a longer time.I got an email from Vrbo 3 days before we moved in to say I should get that day the entry details. I did not get these and in spite of messaging the host Alex several times over the next 2 days I didn't get advised until 3pm on the entry day of how I could get entry. It wasn't until then that I was told there would be a key box and I only had to be told the box code. Neither Vrbo or Alex ever told me there would be a key box, in spite of me indicating to Alex that I expected I might meet him at the property. I consider the communications from Vrbo and Alex are quite unsatisfactory, and the Vrbo app is not good enough as a means of communication. I will be looking for better apps in the future.

Thank you for choosing our home for your group's stay, and for taking the time to share your feedback. Our home is a 70-year-old character property, and many guests choose it for its space, history and charm rather than a modern hotel finish. That said, we take every comment seriously. We've already attended to the light bulbs, soap dispensers and the TV remote, and we're reviewing the cooktop. The upper bunk is designed for children, and the listing shows the number of bathrooms so groups can plan around it. We're sorry the pull-out bed wasn't made up we typically don’t have it made up as not every guest will use during there stay, spare linen is always available and we did inform you of the location of bed linen during your stay. On check-in, access details for self check-in are sent on the day of arrival, which gives guests the freedom to arrive whenever suits them. We understand the wait felt uncertain, and we've since made our check-in instructions clearer in the listing so future guests know what to expect well in advance. We appreciate your feedback and hope future guests enjoy the space and character this home offers. Alex

Hens Weekend

The property was absolutely amazing for our hens weekend away, more than enough beds, comfortable, relaxing, cleanly. The size of this home is perfect for big groups, the pool and grounds are stunning. Perfect location.

Amazing house hidden away from the street and neighbours. Plenty of space for a large group to stay. Host met us at check in to show us around and ensured we were comfortable. Highly recommend

Beautiful location

Karinya is a great place to stay with a bigger group - awesome outdoor/entertaining area where the kids enjoyed hours in the pool. The location is great, doesn’t feel like you’re in the city. The home has some history and loads of original features which is an interesting touch!

Fabulous venue for small events.

We booked Karinya for my daughter’s bridal shower and Hen’s party. Stately home perfect for events with plenty of room indoors and out. Private grounds and convenient location with accommodations for guests. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend of celebrations and Alex was a great host with good communication. Highly recommend
