A piece of Heaven in the middle of the woods, it's a bird sanctuary, with a private lake and a pond. The property is off the beaten path and yet easily accessible from both Toronto and Buffalo, located 15 min drive from Niagara Falls. We have been feeding birds for 30 years so upon arrival, you will be greeted by a variety of different bird species. You can relax and walk the multiple paths through the lush fields to your own private swimming lake that has been stocked with bass in case there is a fisherman in your group. Alternatively, you can sit back and enjoy the quiet and solaces of just being in nature. The house itself is cozy with multiple rooms and areas to congregate or you can find a quite nook to have solo time if that is what you wish. When it comes to unwinding in the colder months there is a claw foot tub, a wood burning fireplace and a sauna; in the warmer months, hammocks, outdoor couches to relax on after a long day of wine touring, or fishing on the Niagara River or spending the day at any of the numerous close by and beautiful beaches. Needless to say, you will never find yourself with nothing to do unless that is what you want.

The farm house was exactly as described, and perfect for our nature-loving family. The property was beautiful and fun for kids to explore. John was very responsive and gave helpful directions. We had a great stay!

We absolutely loved our stay at John’s place. From the beginning, he was great to communicate with, and the house was exactly as listed. We had a group of 5 adults and 6 children, and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The kids absolutely loved how many rooms there were for hide and seek, and the outdoor space was great for exploring. There were so many birds and even a few raccoons to keep us entertained at the bird feeders! The house had everything we needed for a great stay, and I want to give a huge shoutout to John for the manual provided – quite literally every question we had was answered in it. The location was very private but close to shopping and restaurants. There was also so much character and we loved looking at all of the artwork and décor and imagining where each piece came from. John was also one of the most accommodating and helpful hosts I have ever had. Both the kids and adults would love to visit again, maybe when it's warmer and a little drier, but John took care of that too, leaving some extra muck boots for us to enjoy the grounds. I cannot thank John enough for hosting!

Perfect base for family

Beautiful location and property. The weather was not the best. But we explored the grounds and had morning coffee by the lake. Perfect quiet location but close enough to Niagara for theTourist attractions. Will definitely book again.

Relaxing adventure

This is a beautiful property. There is plenty of room to roam on purposeful trails with lush views and all kinds of wildlife! It is a secluded retreat close to all amenities. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Amazing Secluded Property

My friends and I enjoyed our stay here, it was raining the majority of the time, but there was still enough room for 11 of us to comfortably converse inside. The sauna was great and the house was very well kept. Will hopefully be back when it is less rainy and muddy. John was a great host!

This place was a true hidden gem. Absolutely perfect in so many ways. The amenities were beautiful, right down to the heated restroom floors. The sauna was incredibly relaxing, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the WiFi worked flawlessly. The sitting areas were massive, with enough space to comfortably accommodate 12 to 20 people. The outdoor scenery looked like something straight out of a magazine. Bird watching was also immensely enjoyed by the whole group!When we arrived, we had unpleasant rain for the first two days, which normally would have put a damper on the trip. Surprisingly, it almost added to the cozy atmosphere of the property.If I were rating this stay out of 10 stars, I would honestly give it a 9.5. My only real downside was the number of bugs both inside and outside the property. The owners, which I fully support, use an all-natural approach with no harmful pesticides. However, being nestled deep in the woods, some type of bug control feels almost necessary. I ended up with quite a few mosquito bites, and my dad had two ticks on him that we thankfully removed very quickly. Also, the charming old-school realtor-style door lock takes a solid 30 seconds to open, which is unfortunately the perfect amount of time for mosquitoes to launch a full military operation before you can get inside.Even with that minor issue, I left feeling refreshed, energized, and healthier after spending several days here. Peaceful Paradise

Check in was easy. John reached out prior to arrival day with all info needed. There was also a binder with all information in it. The property is beautiful and well kept. House could use some updating overall, but still nice. Its close enough to the touristy attractions of Niagara, but far enough away to feel like your nowhere near anything! The lake and pond are beautiful and made for peaceful evenings each day. Kitchen had everything we needed, which doesn't always happen with rentals. There was plenty of room for everyone in the house to be comfortable. The kids were able to play in one area of the house while the adults relaxed in another. We would definitely recommend staying here for all ages and would book again!

We had a wonderful time. The house could not have been more inviting and livable. The property is beautifully kept, and the weather we had could not have been better. All the attractions were nearby, but we could never have been in a quieter, more peaceful place. My grandson, who is 8, is mildly autistic. To see him at play, especially on the felled tree across the pond, was a great reward. We thought a plaque saying "Fred's Tree" would have fit. I can't say anything better than we would go again, and not change a thing. I"m 83 and not computer savvy, and can't figure out how to move pictures from my phone to this page, but I may be able to get them to our host. Anyway, pictures will be coming.

Beautiful Property

We stayed 4 nights in this truly rustic mid 1800s farmhouse. “We” included 6 adults and 3 children aged 4 and under. The home was very roomy for us and also child friendly. John was very easy to communicate with, often responding in a very short period of time, and he was so helpful with questions. Through a binder left in the kitchen, he shared many helpful tips since with the age of this house, there also came some quirks, but all were workable. We were provided an abundance of towels and toiletries for our use. All the linens were freshly laundered and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and of large size so preparing meals was very easy. Once the rain let up, we were able to enjoy the expansive outdoors with everything so well maintained. The number of birds visiting the feeders was astounding and very fun to watch! There are plenty of areas outside to relax. Such a beautiful property!!!

First let me say, fool me once shame on you fool me twice…well it won’t happen here. The house was too musty smelling and our 5yr old instantly was stuffy and snotty. There’s old and then there’s mildew moldy old. In one of the spare rooms something was coming out of the AC vent which was over the corner of the bed we removed the comforter and in 10 minutes it was back. We had to move the mattress to the living room to sleep. Went back in the room 10 mins later and whatever it was now was on the plywood where the mattress once was and you could see the crud on the frame of the bed also. The owner agreed to refund all but one night, what we weren’t told was that one night was now double the cost that we were quoted and paid for on the website. If you don’t know it beware VRBO hosts can change the per night cost when refunding.

We had such a great stay at the nature farm! The property was beautiful and relaxing with all of the amenities you need. Gorgeous large kitchen stocked with all the gadgets, as well big bedrooms with comfortable beds. We really enjoyed the sauna and the covered deck area. The only thing I would mention to the next guest is bring alot of heavy duty bug spray, and possibly some rain boots to avoid the ticks and mosquitoes. Overall great place to stay for friends/families!
