Absolutely beautiful property, communication and view. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We LOVED the outdoor shower, the whole home AC, infinity pool, mother in law quarters, huge kitchen and living room. Such a comfortable place.

We had an excellent stay at our St. John VRBO! The property was beautiful, well-maintained, and made for such a special trip. The location, views, and overall experience exceeded our expectations.The only minor issue was some communication regarding the pool, as it was not quite ready when we arrived. However, everything else was wonderful, and we truly enjoyed our stay. We would absolutely recommend this property to others visiting St. John!

Beautiful home, gorgeous view, exactly as described. We were there in the beginning of june and the pool was warm especially in the afternoon. There are beach chairs, coolers, and ice packs available. We did have an issue getting a phone signal but with the wifi it wasn’t a big deal for us. The road is rough but just make sure you have 4 wd and you’ll be fine. You are right by skinny legs and 10-20 minutes from all the best beaches

The view was outstanding and the Pool area was great. The Kitchen was large and a good gathering place. Driveway and entrance road were steep and when wet a 4-wheel drive is needed. Also, the house could use a generator for Blackouts.

The Secret Seashell is perfection!

We had another excellent stay at the Secret Seashell and hope to come back again soon. The grounds and the house are beautiful. Everything you need and more is there for you. We love the location as it is so close to Skinny Legs and Coral Bay but very secluded and quiet except for the waves lapping the shore. The views are amazing, It really is perfect!

We loved our stay at secret seashell! The location was very private and you could hear the waves from the house. Jared and Keri were very responsive. Loved that only the bedrooms were air conditioned and the outside living room made our stay! Would definitely recommend!

Excellent stay

The property is beautiful and very well maintained. Communication was excellent from check in to check out. We had a very small issue come up and the communication and fix was incredibly fast. Jared and team were great to work with. Our family of 5 including 3 kids under the age of 10 stayed and the swimming pool was a huge perk. We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent & Consistent with expectations

My wife and I wanted a home base we could chill at as much as we wanted, but that we could hit hikes & beaches from as well. Secret Seashell nailed it for us. The real thing is as good or better than the expectations the listing gave us.

Sweet secret seashell

Lovely property perched on a hill, facing the ocean and sunrise. Woke up to sunny days mostly, but even a rainy one was beautiful from bed or front veranda. Spacious accommodations, infinity pool overlooking several bays. Well equipped kitchen. Clean and laid up to be perfect for two couples or a family. Jared and colleagues were very responsive. Resident iguana was fun to watch in garden areas.

Ultimate relaxation!

The villa was beautiful. The view is beyond stunning. Jared the owner was very accommodating and always available. The location is remote but we were looking for that. If you want to have dinners in some of the better restaurants on the island, however, it is a 30-35 minute drive on winding steep roads. Highly recommend renting a 4 wheel drive Jeep because part of the road to the villa is not paved and steep. Overall an exceptional experience. Highly recommend!

Great house

Jared was very responsive to all my emails. Home is lovely- pictures don’t do it justice. Location is close to Coral Bay- Skinny Legs, Pickles. Warmest pool we have ever bet had in St. John due to all the direct sun. Out door area ANAZING!

This is a quintessential St John home with lovely stonework, beautiful exterior, with several covered porches and screen doors for the cross breeze and a great pool area. The house has wonderful ocean views and beautiful landscaping all around. It would be perfect for a family vacation or for three couples - there are three bedrooms, the primary with an en-suite and two additional queen rooms with separate bathrooms. The pool area has very accommodating and comfortable seating both in the sun and shade. This is a gated home which keeps out the goats, with a parking area large enough that you accommodate several vehicles. The location of this house provided quick access to Coral Bay restaurants, South shore, East end and the North shore beaches.

Jared was very responsive for 2 small issues. I will say - during hot days the main living area not have AC is an issue. It got very hot there. But besides that it was almost a perfect property

It is true that the hottest months of the year can have some particularly hot days...September and October are notorious for this in the Caribbean. Guests should know that AC limited to bedrooms is a common set up at homes on St John and not typically necessary at this property for a majority of the year.

Beautiful House and Perfect View!

The photos actually don't do this property justice. The view from the pool was perfect - framed by gorgeous landscaping. A great size for us, our daughter and my parents for the Christmas holiday! My parents are older, so they took the main floor master bedroom. Our daughter and us took the downstairs bedrooms. Comfy beds, clean clean clean, with really soft sheets. The road to the house, I will warn, is pretty rough, but a Jeep will get you there with no issues. Personally, I like that the road is a bit beaten up - it makes for more seclusion and privacy. A wonderful house!

Stunning, Thoughtfully Stocked Home with Amazing Views & Vibes!

Our stay at this beautiful home was perfect! The drive up is a bit of a trek, but it’s well worth it for the peaceful surroundings and breathtaking views. The home itself is incredibly clean and thoughtfully designed, with unique shell accents woven throughout the structure, adding a special island touch.One of the things we appreciated most was how well-stocked it was—pots, pans, seasonings, trash bags, dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, and so many little things that made our stay seamless and stress-free. It truly felt like a home away from home!The outdoor space is just as amazing, with a gorgeous pool to relax in and soak up the views. And the sound system was Next level! Syncing our phones and playing our favorite music throughout the house made the experience even more enjoyable.If you’re looking for a peaceful, well-equipped, and truly special place to stay, this is it! We can’t recommend it enough and would absolutely stay here again.

Exactly What We Needed!

After not being able to travel and having a business directly impacted by covid over the past year and a half, this was just the relaxing release we needed! Quiet, Secluded, Beautiful views and Perfect in every way for us. It is certainly off the beaten path and if you are needing constant contact with the outside world, this may mot be for you. Spotty wifi, no cell phone connection (att) without wifi and we did lose power for a day, but again, it was EXACTLY what WE were looking for and needed! Only had one small issue with the pool pump not coming back on after the power outage, but Jared sent someone out immediately to resolve the issue. Great trip and hope to stay there again in the future!

Of course we hope the utilities stay on during your stay next time...You did have some bad luck with the power outage and then the lightening storm a day later that took out the ISP. Quiet and lovely

We stayed for a week in March 2023. We were looking for a property in the East side of St. John that was going to give us some solitude. The Secret Seashell was perfect for this. For starters, the landscaping was just beautiful and the constant presence of hummingbirds was such a fun thing to have. The pool was super clean. The inside of the property is exactly as is appears in the pictures. The kitchen has everything you need. The beds are clean and comfy. The porch is perfect for watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee. Having laundry on site was great. The grill was new and clean. It was great having coolers, beach chairs, and towels to use. It was just very easy. I really only have positive things to say about The Secret Seashell.

Originally from Colorado, I arrived on St John in the Virgin Islands in 1999 as a biologist freshly graduated from the University of Colordo. The last 20 years on this island have been nothing short of an amazing life. Besides my successful professional career and the success of my Company, I have also built a career on St John as a Musician and Artist. Mostly I have built a family. I met my beautful wife here in 2000, we were married on island and our child was born here in 2012. We have spent countless lucky days sailing, snorkeling, diving, boating, Hiking, fishing, beaching, playing music and partying
Our team of professionals take the greatest care of our many properties on Island and can help you with any detail of your stay from reservations and planning to on island concierge services, event planning and so much more.
