We had an excellent stay at this beautiful historic property. Kevin was so easy to communicate with and immediately responded to all my questions about touring the island. The house was charming and just right for us 3 couples staying for the weekend. The gardens are beautiful and so well maintained. The kitchen was very well stocked and we even had chocolates left on our beds. If I ever get to come back to the Big Island, I would stay here again!

We arrived in HI at the same time as Nolo in Kona! Unfortunately, due to road closures we got there a day late. It was easy to find once on our way and a beautiful garden welcomed us there!It had everything we needed in the kitchen and the beds were very comfortable.It was close to activities we had planned and local restauants. Kevin responded quickly to questions.

Beautiful home and grounds. Kevin included so many thoughtful extras. Even without air-conditioning, it cooled down nicely at night for sleeping.

We had a great stay at Kevin’s nicely located rental. A little glitch upon check in that was quickly remedied and taken care of thoroughly. Very roomy, beautiful garden and grounds

The property was cute and the outside was very beautiful. When we checked in, it was clear a cleaning crew had not been there. All the beds were stripped, the trash in the kitchen was full, and the laundry from the last guests was in a pile by the washing machine. Kevin responded quickly and refunded the cleaning fee, but that was the only thing he responded quickly about. The main issue was the no AC, which to be fair, is advertised in the description. However, I didn’t realize how unbearably how it would be the whole day. The bedrooms are in the direct line of the sun from sunrise to sunset making them too hot to occupy during the day. We were traveling with two young children and had to have them nap in the car each day. We ended up going to a hotel by our last night. I guess it depends on what you want out of your stay, next time I would likely just get a hotel or something with AC.

Beautiful spacious house in the middle of a garden oasis. So close to town and only 45 minutes to the volcano national park. Highly recommend this beautiful home. We were lucky to see the volcano eruption!

The house was beautiful, spacious, well stocked with high quality linens, dishes, beach toys etc. Loved the yard and screened lanai. Excellent location, all 3 beds very comfortable, 3 fridges! Very happy with our stay! Would definitely return next time on BI

We loved staying here as we visited our family in Hilo. The house is so charming, equipped with everything we needed and more. Fresh flowers and local fruit & chocolates left for us upon our arrival - it’s the little things. We’d love to stay here again I know our family who lives there is going to recommend it as well.

Old Hawaii Charm

Excellent Property

My family thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful stay at this authentic property. The spacious house was well appointed and had such a Hilo feel. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful, it was close to downtown, and perfect for our stay during our visit for a family reunion. Will definitely consider for future stays. Lovely, home on a quiet street. Plenty of space for the three adults in our group. Within walking distance to town. Extremely clean and well stocked. Everything you would need (kitchen supplies, washer/dryer etc.).

Peaceful and relaxing

The home is very clean and very comfortable! The antique furniture is beautiful. The property is beautifully landscaped with amazing flowering plants and fruit trees. The owner was very attentive and left a bowl of tangerines and starfruit from his yard out for us. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Delightful older midcentury (?) house ! Very roomy and lovingly cared for, manicured, enriched throughout with many antiques and cultural items from around the world in dust proof cabinets. Lovely kitchen and dining rooms. Outside are secluded lush gardens. You will love it‼

Late October stay

Property is as-described/pictured. Very comfortable and conveniently located right by the historic downtown area. No AC but comfortable with windows up and fans on. Wish the TV were in the living room but we didn’t watch much anyway. We would stay here again.

Slice of Hawaiian Paradise

My family stayed here for a week beginning on Thanksgiving day and we thoroughly enjoyed the property. Even though it was on a residential street, we felt it was secluded and private. The house could not be more perfect and the kitchen had everything needed for our stay, including a screened in outdoor space and bbq grill. We all raved about how great we slept each night with the windows open, listening to the hum of the birds and frogs outside. We definitely want to stay here on our next trip to Hilo!

Hilo Stay

Beautiful grounds. Nice screened outside sitting area. Lovely home. Located conveniently. Fun to hear the frogs croaking and birds calling.The second bathroom is downstairs in the basement and the stairway light wasn't working.
