Your Big Bay Get Away

Make yourself at home in this spacious, secluded and newly renovated two-story colonial with a cook's kitchen (including all new appliances), three season porch, fireplace, washer/dryer, internet access, fenced yard, outdoor pizza oven, fire pit, outdoor shower and more. Breathtaking views of Lake Superior, which is only steps away, can be seen from nearly every room in the house. The living room is the perfect gathering place with a satellite TV and cozy gas fireplace. The master California King bedroom with a private bath and extra closet space is located on the first floor off the living room. Upstairs are three more bedrooms (another king size with its own balcony, a queen size with a sitting room, and a kids room with a full size bed, bunkbeds and play area), along with a second full bathroom. The first floor office features an adjustable desk and also serves as the fifth bedroom with a queen size futon. The three season porch and open deck with grill are perfect for outdoor meals or evenings spent stargazing. Enjoy hours of fun on the private beach, with miles of pure sand to the west and shores of rocky treasures to the east. You'll be only a mile from historic, quaint Big Bay with public boat access to Lake Independence, or a short drive to Thomas Rock Overlook, Alder Falls or endless hiking and bike trails to choose from. Conveniently located only 40 minutes from Marquette and one hour from Sawyer International Airport. This beautiful home is the perfect location to spend your summer vacation enjoying the best of Lake Superior living while making lifelong memories with friends and family. Perfect Family Retreat

Our extended family of 12 spent a wonderful and relaxing week here. The house and it’s surrounding grounds were actually better than expected. I’d go as far as saying that the photos posted of this rental don’t do it justice. The house was perfect for our needs and all beds were comfortable. Private beach, relaxing and peaceful atmosphere, fire pit at night, a sky full of stars, a glimmer of the northern lights on our last night - what more can you as for! We would definitely return again. Thank you for sharing your home!

Relaxing U.P. Perfection

The location. The house. The space. The amenities. All amazing. There were seven people in our group and everyone was able to have their own space (bedroom). The beds are all comfortable. Lots of extra blankets are accessible if needed. The bathrooms are fabulous! The three seasons room is a fantastic place to admire the beautiful view of the bay as well as set up and leave puzzles/games out of the way! The kitchen is spacious and generously appointed. You won’t need to bring any kitchen appliances or tools from home! The living room is cozy with comfortable sofas and chairs. We enjoyed a couple movies snuggled up on the sofa. The WiFi was good. With several pre-teens, teens and young adults using it - held its own. The beach is sandy and private - the water is very cold but that’s not surprising (Lake Superior). We enjoyed corn hole and Big Bay ball in the fenced backyard. We used the very fancy grill most nights! The nearby town is tiny but everyone is very nice. Crams general store has a soft serve ice cream machine (self-serve) and pretty much anything else you might need. The Lumberjack Tavern is worth a stop and has a very interesting story (ask the bartender for the scrapbook)! The house is the perfect distance from Marquette for both relaxation and day trips. The owners were exceptionally responsive to questions and very, very nice!!! Overall 10/10 and 5 stars!!! We would definitely stay here again and will recommend the property to friends and family!!! Thanks for sharing your wonderful home with us!!!

Perfect getaway on Lake Superior!

My family and I (10 of us in total) stayed here for 5 days and it was the perfect Michigan vacation spot. The house itself is beautiful and very comfortable for a large group. The kitchen is the best stocked of any rental I've ever stayed at. There were plenty of pots and pans, utensils and spices. There was a blender and a waffle maker, coffee maker and coffee grinder. The house was just a small walk from the beach, and there is so much to do. They have beach chairs, a fire pit, a pizza oven, corn hole, plenty of games and toys for kids. There was no cell signal and wifi was slow and unreliable, which is really the only complaint we had. But the area is so beautiful, you really don't need it. You won't regret your stay here!

Superb. Looking forward to another stay.

This is a wonderful house in a beautiful location with a fabulous view. We came with a group of children and their friends, and they spent almost full time at the beach and had a wonderful time. The house is superbly appointed, and that made everything easy. The kitchen is the best equipped of any place we've rented. The superb hosts are excellent communicators, and saw to it that we lacked for nothing. We're definitely looking forward to another stay.

Beautiful inside and out

Everything was as described or better! The home is comfortable and clean. The kitchen has every gadget imaginable. We enjoyed meals on the deck being buzzed by the hummingbirds. The beach access is easy and very private. We only saw two other people on the beach all week. We brought our kayaks to paddle the bay. Easy in and out from the beach. We even enjoyed swimming in the bay. Quick and concise communication with owners when we had questions. We travelled with teens - they gave the wifi a good workout.

Perfect lake getaway

Amazing beachfront property for a young family. Great sand to play in in front of the property and over 2 miles of beach to stretch your legs. Great hiking opportunities nearby as well. Good communication with the owner throughout as well. Couldn’t be happier with our stay!

Hidden Gem

The house was absolutely perfect, it has everything you need to spend time there. The hosts were so friendly and very communicative! You have the private access to the beach, we rented kayaks and kayacked the bay area! Sunsets are spectacular from the beach and the house! I would highly recommend this location!
