Beautiful views, adorable house. They have everything you would need. Pet friendly!! Which is a plus for us! She answered my questions quickly. Went in September so too chily to swim but lake was sandy. Lots to go see around the cabin. Trails, light houses and waterfalls.Excellent place.

Lovely, charming cottage on a beautiful setting with really comfy beds (100%cotton sheets!!). Well equipped kitchen I LOVED the windows! Huge super clean bathroom. We heard loons in the distance and Amy left us the ingredients for some mores! Highly recommended. We did not take advantage of the kayaks or the fire pit but certainly will next time. Many thanks!

Our stay couldn't have been better! The attention to detail by our host was extraordinary. They even had starter wood in the fire pit for ease in making our evening fire and s'mores. I can't say enough good things about the property. Meticulously clean and well kept. Exceptionally tidy and organized. There was even a guitar which I watched my brother play and hadn't seen him do that since high school. Made great memories... Thank you so much for everything...we hated to leave.

The property was clean* and very cute, with lots of old fashioned touches. Loved having my coffee on the enclosed porch overlooking the lake each morning. We spent a lot of time playing around in the water. The lake was perfect! So sandy, not too cold and with the kayaks & paddle boards, we had a blast. Oh & the frozen pizzas at Drury’s General Sore are super good! *this was the cleanest property I’ve ever booked. It was finally a place that I didn’t need to pre-clean before we settled in. I’m not a germaphobe or anything, but most places have nasty base trim, dirty tables, etc. This property had the old feel, but very clean!

This property was fabulous for my small family of 3 and our dog! It had everything we needed to enjoy independence Lake and we were very comfortable. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for relax and refresh in the UP!

Fantastic place with beautiful views. The cottage had every amenity we could possibly want or need with personal touches from the host such as the hand written thank you note, to the fire starters and smores pack. Will definitely be back

AMAZING stay again!

This was our 2nd visit to Sunbeam Cottage and we can't wait to come back again! We love the cottage and our host is the best! This stay we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights over Lake Superior (public beach about a mile away) and just relaxed with our great friends. Amazing place!

Tranquil Retreat

My stay at the Sunbeam cottage exceeded all reasonable expectations. The cottage is clean, very thoughtfully equipped and is central for many scenic day trips.

Cozy getaway with a good location

The cottage is a good size, it doesn't feel cramped, but it's small enough to encourage you to go outside and enjoy nature. We had a great time fishing our on the lake, and coming back to have fires each evening, overlooking the lake.

Beautiful spot

Great place to stay, cottage is cozy and clean, sits on a beautiful lake, very close to Lake Superior, sunrise/sunsets hard to beat! Close to hiking, city or just a quiet place away from busy life! Might even catch the northern lights!

Refreshing Days

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage! Coffee in the swing each morning while listening to the loons on the lake, fishing, swimming, reconnecting…! The cottage was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed! Loved every moment!

Tranquil Retreat

My family had a relaxing and tranquil stay at the Sunbeam Cottage. The view of the lake was absolutely beautiful. The home was fully equipped with everything we needed to just have some quality family time. We were able to swim, kayak, fish, play board games, and sit around a campfire making s’mores.
