These guests stayed at my home for 20 days. It seems strange to me that any person would stay at any establishment if they are this displeased and felt inclined to give a 1-star review. This guest didn't state anything about the home being unclean until their 3rd day of the stay. The guests happened to call me on the day of their check-in to ask how to use the electronic door lock, and once they entered the home, I asked them how everything looked, and they let me know that "everything was lovely and they were very excited about their stay." My housekeepers and staff that help manage the condo do an excellent job and I usually hear great feedback regarding the cleanliness of the home. But on the 3rd day of their stay, the guests stated that "the outdoor furniture was very dusty." There was a windstorm the night prior (this is common in the desert) and it is common for outdoor furniture to collect dust unfortunately due to this fact. Due to the length of their stay, I let them know I would send housekeeping out as a complimentary service to address the dusty outdoor furniture since their stay was long. In hindsight, I am upset I offered this as they were very ungrateful and unkind per this review. The photos were taken right after the home was remodeled in the summer of 2021 and are 100% accurate. I am not sure what their comment is implying in stating that the photos are inaccurate since they don't specify anything in this review. These are the type of guests that are better suited to stay in a hotel. For example, they would frequently call me at all hours of the day/night for minor issues like how to work the TV (they kept selecting the wrong input), how to work the Wifi (they didn't capitalize 1 letter in the password and had CAPS lock on), how to use the electronic door lock, etc. One evening they called me at 7 PM as I was putting my 2-year-old to bed, and let me know that "I had better send someone to the house within the hour" when they had a TV issue. I let them know that I could call my TV provider to walk them through it, which I did right away, and the representative was able to walk them through it. The issue was that the guests had selected the wrong input again. The phone call with the TV provider and the guest was 45 minutes long when it was something that could have been explained in 2 minutes for context. The guests were combative with the representative on the other line and were unable to follow simple directions. The guests happened to call me the following day about the same TV issue (the wrong input) and left me 3 voicemails in a row, within 5 mintues of each other; I wish I were making this up. I contacted VRBO about these guests to ask if the guests, ever, at any point, called VRBO to complain about my condo before during or after their stay, and VRBO had clarified that the guests had done no such thing. I hope that these guests only book stays at hotels moving forward since they are bad fits for vacation rentals. These guests also ordered a few pay-per-view movies without asking or telling me which speaks volumes of their character in my opinion. They were rude to me, my staff, and anyone else who happened to be in contact with them during the entirety of their stay. They treated me as though I was a 24/7 concierge service. I have been hosting on here and other platforms for 7 years and have other homes in other markets that I manage as well and I can confidently say that these guests were by far the most difficult I have encountered.
