Everything was really great- very clean, lots of towels and linens, beds were comfortable except for one pull out couch bed but did reach out to them to let them know. They were very receptive and we would stay there again!!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The ocean view is spectacular, and the house is designed perfectly to take advantage of it. Whether we were relaxing in the living room or just looking out the windows, the coast always felt like the centerpiece of the house. The beds and furniture were comfortable, and the home was a great place to come back to after a day of exploring.We also loved the location. We spent our days exploring Yachats and the surrounding coastal towns, including the Yachats farmers market, antique shops along the coast, and a wonderful local dragon shop owned by Rose Estes of Dungeons & Dragons fame. There is so much character in this stretch of the Oregon coast.One small thing to know before arriving: the kitchen does not have many pantry basics, so if you plan to cook, bring things like cooking oil, spices, and seasonings with you.Overall, a beautiful, comfortable home in a wonderful location. We would happily stay here again.

Beautiful Stay

This property is right on the beach. It is a beautiful place. It has a great dinner table that sat all 10 of us for games and meals. It was a very peaceful location and just a short drive to the downtown of Yachats.

Perfect Beach House

Our girls, 4yo and 7yo, talk about staying at The Sand Castle year round. (This is our second summer here.) The private stairway down to the beach is awesome and the beach is such a hidden gem that it feels like our own private beach. We can’t wait to go next year.

A perfect getaway!

Beautiful house and location. We had a wonderful time. The towels/linens confused us at first, then we realized the laundry bags had all the clean ones. We would love to come back!

Relaxing time with great ocean views and beach access

The house was the perfect size for 3 couples. We cooked, we ate, we played games and we walked on the beach. We appreciated the blue tooth speakers on both levels …. And the view from the upstairs living room is terrific!

Living the beach life

House is very nice and right on the water. Game room and hot tub are great bonuses. Slept 8 easy, could have slept 2 more if needed.

Beautiful House and Beach

Great property and location. The property was well-maintained and clean. The only thing that would be nice is if the road was graded. Two of the small cars with the group dragged bottom a few times.

Wedding weekend

It’s was beautiful. Big enough for our small wedding to be held on the beach and enough space for our family. We enjoyed it! The house was beautiful and we’d love to make this a spot where we come to for anniversaries. 10/10

Best location

Great place to stay if you want ocean views all day long! We got to see a storm blow through and it was amazing watching the waves come up as far as the deck! A few things I would mention, there are no spices (I assume this is a COVID precaution), no coffee filters, and in the pictures you see two couches downstairs when there is only one. Overall, I would stay over and over!

Nice, but overpriced

Great home for families; certainly the location, private surroundings, and view are spectacular. However, it was billed as Luxury, and after 30 years of renting Oregon beach homes, it's my opinion that it's overpriced by about 1/3. At a lower price, I'd rate it much higher, but there were too may shortfalls and near misses for that price.

We are glad you enjoyed the private location and spectacular views. The Sandcastle is a fun, comfortable, family home with a huge regular following of repeat guests that return year after year. The owners do at least one major upgrade renovation each year so there is always something new to look forward to.

Highlights included; the deck with steps to the beach. The hot tub with a view of the ocean.Beds were just OK. in addition overall cleanliness was also only OK. Bathroom dwnstrair smelled of mold/mildueUnder “needs improvement”; the kitchen is not stocked, no staples such as sugar,flour etc to be found. Also kitchen equipment is limited for example kettle to boil water but no tea pot to make teaIn summary; although the views are fantastic the overall value for this house is not great, perhaps a strong 3 out of 5 stars

Sand Castle

The adults expressed that this was the best house we have rented and we have used vacation rentals several times. The view and beach access was spectacular and everything was clean and welcoming. For the two nights we were there the cost of renting was doubled with all of the added fees. That cost would have dropped significantly if we had stayed several more nights as fees would have been the same and there would have been only incremental increases of rent. We had to provide our own tp the second night as the unit did not have enough for 9 people. There was no dry wood for the fire place. First world problems easily fixed.

Once beautiful home, but past its prime.

The property was once beautiful. But we were disappointed with our stay on many levels and I am positive that this has been pointed out before - pages were ripped out of the guest book. I really have no interest in going into detail of the many failings of this property. The place is way past its prime. For the cost of this place for the week they could do some repairs and updating. I mean, really? My family and I go to a different beach every year and if this is what VBRO considers quality or whatever term you want to use, I won’t be using or recommending your service again. Update! The owners of the Sand Castle try to do a remodel project every year. This last November they redid the kitchen, lower bathroom, laundry room, and did an upgrade to the furniture and beds. This place was perfect for our group. The location was perfect the house was so cute. The beach front & game room were the highlights of the trip & we read reviews ahead so we knew we needed spices etc for food.

the down stairs bedroom bed is like sleeping on concrete but the rest of the beds are fine and this home has a wonderful view

Lovely beach house

More beautiful in person than the pictures. That never happens. We are all mostly short people and so we were disappointed that we couldn’t find a step stool to get into the top cabinets. The house is in a great location with a nice bit of privacy.

Great stay

This property had everything we could ask for! Private beach access, incredible views of the ocean, plenty of space and games in the garage! We had a great long weekend here with guests ranging in age from 2-70. Everyone was happy!
