We had a wonderful stay! Melina is an excellent host, she has thought of everything to make your trip easy and comfortable, it felt like home away from home. Her home is clean, very well taken care of, and was ready at our check in time. Everything we needed was stocked in the kitchen, from air fryer to corkscrew. There are even beach chairs and a cooler for your use! Wild horses visited us every day, which was incredible to wake up to. We truly stayed Parked in the Sand for majority of our trip. We can’t wait to come back!

We had such an amazing time!! There were 6 of us and we had plenty of room. We got to see the wild horses almost everyday. The host was quick to respond to any questions I had and quick. We will definitely be back.

This was our second time at this rental and it did not disappoint. The house was very clean and well kept and had everything we needed traveling with two younger kiddos and an older dog. The beach is close and beautiful with views from the home. The kiddos really enjoyed the screened in porch and the hot tub. Also many wild horses to see from the home and the beach. Would highly recommend- thanks again for extending your home to our family! We appreciate it!

What an amazing stay at Parked in the Sand !! Kudos to the host, Melina for thinking of everything! Kitchen was beyond stocked. Just needed to bring our food. The resident horse visits to the property were a bonus! Ocean views, sunsets & sun rises from the deck were also a highlight! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay & sharing your beautiful home with us, Melina!! The care & thoughtfulness you put into making your guests comfortable truly made our stay so enjoyable ! Ps. Melina was such a pleasure to work with. The property was as advertised. The location is hard to beat. We stayed Sept 10-13 and had beautiful weather. The wild horses hung around the beach house for a few hours in our last day. Plenty of photo opportunities. We were maybe 3 minutes from the beach and had more beach space than we knew what to do with. The house comes equipped with most household supplies. Cooking utensils and dining ware. We’ve vacation all over and this was truly a remarkable experience. Communication with Melina was Top Notch. She understands beach life and went to extra steps to ensure we had what we needed. Make sure you have a true 4x4 as we saw many AWD vehicles stuck in the sand. Also bring non stick cooking spray. That’s my only true recommendation. The couches I wanted to steal. They were super comfortable and the master bed was just as comfy. We already miss it and want to return. We will see you next year “Parked in the Sand”! We’ve found our annual hideout. Highly recommended! We can’t say enough about this experience! Best weekend EVER!

We had a wonderful time here with our teens and dog. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to cook and make dinners most nights. It was perfect weather and we saw wild horses a couple of times while we were here. We loved taking sunset walks. Melina was communicative and helpful and the check-in and out was easy.

Relaxing getaway

The house met our needs perfectly. We were so close to the beach, and also had quiet privacy. The house had everything we needed for making meals. We loved seeing the horses daily at the house and on the beach. Melina was very responsive when I reached out to her.

We were very pleased with the home. The owner, Melina, is very nice and responsive to messages via VRBO app. Our group consisted of 3 couples and a mini poodle and the house worked well for our group. It did have a nice ocean view from the top level, much better than we were expecting. We plan to return in the future.

Our first trip to OBX was EXCELLENT thanks to Melina and family. The house was truly amazing and stocked with everything you need to enjoy much needed family time! Thank you for opening your house to us and being so attentive to anything we asked. We enjoyed everything about it!!

Perfect quiet getaway parked in the sand!

We absolutely loved the home. It was stocked with everything we could want. It was decorated beautifully and situated at a perfect location in the 4x4 area. Directions were perfect! The Host Melina was so helpful and polite! Can’t wait to stay at Parked in Sand again!

We had an amazing time at this property. The location is perfect, close to the beach with ocean views. My kiddos enjoyed meals on the screened in porch. We saw plenty of wildlife, from horses to pelicans to dolphins. We even spotted some deer in the dunes. The house was very clean and comfortable, as well as very well stocked. Driving on the beach was unforgettable. It was also very nice that we could bring our elderly dog. The owners were very responsive and helpful as well. Exceeded our expectations; perfect family getaway

The house was absolutely perfect for our family. We had always wanted to stay at Carova - the location and accommodations exceeded our expectations. Very clean, great size, set up really well - felt like we were at home. We had horses on the property pretty much every day. Amazing communication from the hosts throughout the process. We will definitely be back!

This property was everything we wanted and more. Quiet and secluded but accessible to shopping and other activities. The horse came by almost everyday. The road in was memorable and fun. The home had just about every kitchen item imaginable. We lacked for nothing during our stay here. Will come back.

The perfect family vacation!!!

We cannot say enough good things about Melina and the Parked In The Sand rental!! The home exceeded our expectations! We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the mornings and evenings with only the peaceful sounds of the crashing waves and horses passing through. The house was equipped with the all essentials of home and then some! This was our first time staying on the 4x4 beach and we all said we would definitely come back and at stay here again.

Paradise in the Sand

This house every single thing to make your visit relaxing. Games, hot tub, comfortable beds, cozy couches, and the kitchen is so well thought out and stocked. They even have a waffle maker! Great weekend getaway!!

We thoroughly enjoy the 4x4 section of Carova, and this house exceeded expectations for our stay! Communication with the home owners was easy. We appreciate being able to book a beach house for less than a week with flexible check in/check out dates. This is one of the only properties we’ve seen that lets you do that! The house was clean, well-maintained, well-stocked and had working appliances. We had a very relaxed stay and are looking forward to our next trip!

Family Fun

We had a great family vacation at Parked in the Sand. The kids loved the off road experience to get to the house, and we all enjoyed seeing the horses around the house in the morning. The house had everything we needed and the kitchen was very well stocked. Melina was great about recommending kid friendly things to do and local places to eat.This was our families first trip to the OBX, but it definitely won’t be our last. Thanks for letting us enjoy your wonderful house.

Great Stay!

We had a fabulous vacation! Been staying on the 4x4 for a number of years and never stayed several rows back, and it totally worked!! There was 9 of us in our party, and the house was a great size! Easy access to the beach whether walking or using the provided beach passes. Covered porch is fantastic, views from upstairs, hot tub was fresh. Once you stay here you’ll want to come back again and again! The Owner is incredibly attentive, accessible, and friendly. Well done!

Wild!

This was such a thrilling experience for our suburban family! Lowering our tire pressure, driving on the sand...right next to the Atlantic Ocean, wild horses on the beach, in the neighborhood, in the yard!!!!! This was truly a departure of our everyday existence and we are grateful for the mems! House was beautiful, comfortable, and well-equipped.

End of summer stay was perfect

Property exactly as listed. Gorgeous location, well stocked house. Property owner very responsive and informative. She called us to make sure we were prepared for the tropical storm coming. Very considerate. Horses in neighborhood daily. Beach was perfect even with rip currents. Everything you could need for the beach is at this house. Just wonderful. Thank you.
