'Ocean Colors' is what you will experience both inside and outside in this designer decorated, recently remodeled, oceanfront condo! You will be awestruck by stunning views of the Pacific Ocean with the waves to the west and the coastline to the south with views of the city lights of La Jolla! You will be mesmerized watching the surfers ride the waves, enjoying the memorable sunsets and frequently seeing the dolphins frolic through the waves; all from your private deck on the second floor. Del Mar Shores Terrace is located along the oceanfront bluffs in Solana Beach. Stairs down to the beach are adjacent to the complex. Beach chairs and boogie boards await your use! Bicycles and Paddle Boards are available to rent close by, or simply take a nice walk or jog along the beach. The complex offers an oceanfront pool and spa and a secured gated community with one designated parking space in a covered garage.

WOW! We stayed in this stunningly beautiful, bright, clean, very comfortable Condo the end of August through Labor Day Weekend 2025. The corner unit views from floor to ceiling and the outside balcony, of the ocean, beach, and sunsets were spectacular! Every amenity we could possibly ask for was available, including the kitchen & appliances, comfortable living room/sitting areas and bedroom, full bathroom and a second vanity/sink area (great for 2 travelers!), full beach supplies, laundry room closet, and a parking garage spot (that we needed!) which is just a short 30 second walk to the unit.The property grounds and pool area are also beautiful and well-maintained. And the location in the Del Mar/Solana Beach area was absolutely perfect during our week long vacation, where we made various trips to Encinitas, Oceanside, and Newport Beach to the North, and Pacific Beach and Coronado to the South.Lastly, I can’t say enough about our Host Tawne, who was very responsive and helpful with several basic questions we had before arriving. Messaging her through the VRBO app worked like a charm, and she consistently responded to us within 30-60 minutes. Her Welcome Letter material is also very comprehensive.Thank you SO MUCH, Tawne! We’ll certainly keep you in mind again for our future trips to the San Diego area.Scott & Deb O.

One of the best vacations we had so far - and we had some. Property is in the higher price level, but you get an outstanding, top level appartment for your money. Excellent property, very clean and convenient. Kitchen and bath have everything you need. 2 seperate bathrooms, very handy. Stunning ocean views, if you leave the door to the balcony open, you will here the waves every night. Dolphins can be seen from time to time. Fascinating sunsets. This is the right place if you want to relax and go to downtown San Diego from time to time. Sandy beach, good swimming or walking. Direct beach access (stairs), 3 min. and you have your feet in the water. Beach umbrella and chairs provided. Pool and hot pool in community area. Shopping and restaurants close by. Gated community, very well maintained. Enough storage room (walk in closet and drawers) also for extended stays. Good, new bed in the bedroom. Owner very friendly and always available. Amazon delivery possibly to doorstep. Have already booked for next year.

Gorgeous views, great location on a lovely beach, nearby amenities—what more could you ask for? The condo was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owner was very easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again if available.

The apartment if lovely. The view is fantastic. Saw lots of surfers every morning which was interesting to watch. The beach is spot less and plenty of room although the trek up and down is a bit much. All in all it was great. We would stay there again if the ant problem is better. Tawne was very help with everything. Love the place.

Disappointment

This is a very nice property and the property manager was quickly responsive to issues such as security code not working, lack of hot water in shower, non-functioning Foreman Grille, and ants. However, we paid a total VRBO contract approaching $9000 and were notified only three hours before check-in that the A/C in the living area would not be available during our entire two-week stay. Unfortunately, a record setting County heat wave soon set in and the manager's only response was providing a small tubular fan which did not change the 85-90 degree afternoon/evening temperatures in the condo. For almost one week we had to either leave the unit or retreat to the bedroom which did have A/C. The manager apparently did not request emergency delivery of the repair part. She did, however, minimize our problem claiming that we were constantly benefitting from cool onshore ocean breezes. This was manifestly not true. The bottom line is that we paid almost $9000 for an air conditioned condo and did not receive that benefit during an extreme weather event. Fairness would suggest a substantial refund but VRBO's position was that the matter could be determined only by the lessor. A $350 credit was made to my credit card account. This was clearly inadequate and raises the question of whether VRBO's business model favors lessors over lesees.

Not at all “tranquil and serene.”

I booked this unit for 20 nights in Feb/Mar. For 6 of them there was a major dredging operation immediately below us that closed our beach access and subjected us to the constant roar and beeping of work machines from 7am to 7pm. The dredging itself was constant, with bright lights and huge gushers of water spewing from large pipes. We also had a major plumbing issue that left us w/o kitchen water for 24 hours and tied us to the unit while we waited for a plumber. A flood was avoided because my husband hauled to the toilet multiple pots of garbage water gushing from the sink drains. Tawne committed to an amount to compensate us for what we experienced, then weeks later arbitrarily sent half as much because she deemed it a “minor inconvenience.” And the main living area was infested with ants. Not the restful beach retreat we were looking forward to.

Great view and location

Fantastic stay, host was easy to connect with. As soon as you walk in the door the ocean view hits you. Bed was a California king and bathroom was updated. Near everything you could need on a vacation….. cool place !

Solana Beach Paradise

This is our second annual stay at this beautiful condo. We are already planning for next year’s stay. What more can be said? The location is perfect. The view can’t be beat. The condo itself was immaculate. Everything a couple needs was there. The comfortably firm king size bed and oversized shower were two welcomed luxuries. The host also is very responsive if needed. Looking forward to our return stay next year.

This condo is a gem. Spectacular views of the ocean and evening sunsets. Very nicely appointed with excellent use of space. The owner/host has thought of everything you could possibly need. Even a sun hat was provided. The condo is very clean and comfortable. We hope to return again.

Excellent in every way

Firstly, the condo is well located. It’s right on the beach, albeit many steps above the beach, but withing walking distance of an artsy main street. It has stunning views of the ocean. There’s always something to watch – surfers, beach walkers, and very happy dogs playing on the beach. Secondly, the condo is excellent. It is well equipped, has a very comfortable bed and is very tastefully decorated. Thirdly, Tawne is an excellent and communicative hostess. In summary, we loved our stay in this condo.

Stunning Ocean Views

This property is exactly as the photos depict. The ocean views are beautiful, relaxing and mesmerizing. As others have said you will find yourself watching dolphins and surfers on an every morning basis. The owner is instantly available if you have a problem- I had a small one checking in - it was my error. Highly recommend. We will be back .

Fantastic Property and Excellent Host

We rented this property for a week to explore the San Diego area and could not have been happier with our selection. The property’s amenities and its location were ideal. The local beach is excellent. It was fun to watch the local surfers / dolphins and it is just a short walk to a dog beach which was so entertaining. There are plenty of good restaurants in Solana Beach and Del Mar very nearby. We found Tawne’s recommendations to be spot on. Another huge benefit of this location is the Solana Beach train station which is a short walk away from the unit. We bought an inexpensive “5 pack” pass on the Coaster and it was a quick easy trip to downtown San Diego. Saved us the hassle of finding parking and could drink without worrying about driving. Torrey Pines State Reserve and La Jolla are also really easy to get to. The unit had everything we needed. I would particularly call out the very comfortable bed and the incredible ocean view. Lastly, Tawne was an awesome host. The communications and instructions were all excellent and she was extremely responsive when we had any questions. We highly recommend this property.

Stellar views out to the Pacific and a nicely decorated home. Tawne has some very nice things. The bed was very comfy and parking a breeze. You should know that there are 127+ stairs to the beach. Good for us I guess! Thanks Tawne for sharing this lovely place with us!

Beautiful condo with perfect views

The condo is awesome! The place was extremely clean and the views out the window were incredible. The location is great as neighborhood is very walkable. I would recommend this place to anyone! Hoping to come back some day soon! Host was very helpful and responsive with any questions!

My husband and I live in Indian Wells, California near the Palm Springs area. My children and grandchildren live in North County San Diego and we are blessed to have them so close and that we can frequently get my grandchildren fix! The Condo as been a second home for me for many years as I have been coming to Solana Beach since 1975!

Our ‘Ocean Colors’ condo has been in the family since 1983! It was newly remodeled in 2022, where I created the ‘Ocean Colors' theme by blending the various blue colors of the ocean along with the color of the sand. This is a very special place and I have had a great time making it a romantic and fun setting for all to enjoy. I maintained the colors of Cobalt Blue, which was from the first remodel in 1983. In fact, after the beautiful sunsets on a clear day my mother would always remind us that it was ‘Cobalt Blue Time', where the sky glows of a rich Cobalt Blue on the front patio; enhanced even deeper through the windows while sitting in the living room. With the second remodel the color of Teal and Turquoise was added. I brought the colors all together to give you a feeling of the ocean on the inside to match the fabulous ocean colors from our views of the ocean and beach!
