This lodge was the perfect home base for a weekend of hiking and climbing in the area. The home is super clean, wonderfully stocked, and the deck is a perfect spot to relax after a long day on the trails. The owners were also super communicative throughout. Would 10000% recommend, and will look for this spot again for my next trip!

I was highly annoying in the lead up to booking this and they were so nice about all of it. We arrived way later than anticipated and all of the roads were really well marked with lots of cutouts and passing lanes for people who were more comfortable driving in the area. Upon arrival turning the water on was no problem at all even though it was pretty dark out. Views were amazing. Hot tub was hot. It felt very home-y and well appointed. There are a lot of great places nearby to grab food, and a lot of really nice walking spaces around. 10/10 would be back.

Great cabin at the top of a hill with amazing views over the valley. Well appointed with comfortable chairs, full kitchen, patio seating, and hot tub. Hard to ask for more.

Wonderful location for a relaxing escape from Los Angeles. Only caveats to prospective visitors is that the drive up/down the mountain on the 243 is not for the feint of heart (make sure your car's brakes and tires are solid!) and I would not advise this house for people with mobility issues, but otherwise this was a marvelous place to stay and the communication from the hosts was excellent.

The cabin is such a wonderful retreat in tucked in the woods. The kitchen was great to cook in and the views were incredible. I also want to take a moment to highlight the responsiveness of the hosts to anything we needed. They were great hosts. I'd stay here again!

This beautiful cabin literally checked all the boxes for a perfect weekend in the mountains. We had a wonderful time building fires every evening, cooking all of our meals in a very well stocked and nice kitchen (great appliances!), soaking in a large and maintained hot tub with a view, sleeping in surrounded by quality bedding..... overall just a really amazing time! The cabin was beautifully furnished with nice art and cozy wool blankets, tons of board games, and a fully connected smart tv. Everything was very clean with thoughtful touches throughout and Alex was very accommodating and communicative. We 100% recommend this lodge!

The hosts were friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The home is situated in a beautiful location, well-decorated among the treetops, with a jacuzzi on the deck. My family of three, including our dog, had an amazing trip, enjoying this lovely home, hiking, exploring the town, and spending quality time together. I would highly recommend this property.One thing to note: the cabin can get chilly. It might be wise to bring firewood, as the town was sold out during our trip over a busy holiday weekend.

Great place to relax

We had an absolutely fantastic time staying at the cabin. The communication with the host was outstanding. The cabin was very cozy and clean. Enjoyed the beautiful views from the deck. Expect a bit of a hike from your car to the cabin.

We had a wonderful time

My family and I stayed in this beautiful cabin for a weekend and we enjoyed every minute. It provides such a relaxing environment with such beautiful views. We enjoyed the hot tub and hammock very much. We even got some snow! You can tell the owners take pride in hosting as everything was easy, clean, and enjoyable for us. The kitchen is well stocked which is much appreciated.

We had an amazing time at this home. My family has been coming to Idyllwild twice a year since 2017, and this location is definitely in our top 3 stays. The views are stellar, the house is loaded with essentials, and the hot tub is perfect for taking in the sunsets. The cabin is about 100 years old, and it retains its charm while placing you in a period that makes you appreciate its calming, remote locale.The owners were very responsive and easy to work with. I’ll definitely come back here in the future and recommend to others.

Definitely a super host!

Not only was the cottage adorable, clean, & well stocked, the owner Alex went above & beyond to help us! An unexpected storm caught us & Alex was beyond helpful, allowing later check out, offering advice & reassurance. Highly recommend!!

Gorgeous views, private, everything you need

The views are stunning. The cabin has everything you need . The location is private. Be prepared to walk your belongings up a pathway to cabin. Owners are just a text away for any questions . We’ll definitely stay again

If you’re looking for a peaceful mountain escape, this is it!The cabin is incredibly charming; beautifully curated, spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. Perched among the treetops, the views are breathtaking, with miles of mountains and valley stretching before you. We enjoyed soaking in the quiet scenery. The air conditioning was a lifesaver during the summer heat, and ending each evening in the hot tub under the stars was the perfect way to unwind.One of our favorite parts was being able to bring our two little dogs. The fenced porch gave us peace of mind, and the dog beds provided were such a thoughtful touch.The location is fantastic. There’s a convenient corner store within walking distance, the cutest mountain town just a short drive away, and the desert is close enough for an easy day trip if you want to explore farther.The hosts were wonderful communicators from start to finish, providing clear, detailed information, making check-in, check-out, and our entire stay completely stress-free.The only thing I’d mention for future guests is the walk from the parking area to the cabin. The listing accurately mentions this but it’s worth knowing that you’ll be carry your belongings up a short, fairly steep dirt hill. It wasn’t a problem, but if I had fully appreciated the incline I definitely would have packed a little lighter!Overall, this cabin was everything we hoped for and we look forward to coming back!

This property was cozy and comfortable, tastefully decorated, a great view, and a wonderful space for the four of us. Our hosts were responsive and relaxed! Thank you for treating or family like guests and not a transaction! Note to folks - if you have mobility issues, the charm of the walk to the property might be a challenge - but otherwise it was the restful and relaxing weekend we needed. Thank you, Alex and Deborah!

1925 Lodge

We loved staying at The Lodge. Very cozy, clean, and welcoming. Just a short drive to Idyllwild and hiking trails. We enjoyed the sunrise as we sat drinking coffee, chatting by the fire in the incredibly hot fire stove. The beds were super comfortable. We even had robes to wear to the hot tub. Thank you Alex for being available for questions. You are the best host!!

I picked this property with the desire to enjoy the stars and the Perseid Meteor showers. Noted other reviews on views and tried to visualize what that would mean for star gazing while lounging in the hot tub. The unit itself is tucked away in Pine Cove. We arrived after dark and the recommendation is to find the unit during the day time. It is a fairly narrow road, not well paved and the turn around to enter can be a little tricky at night. Best to get there before the sun goes down. With Apple Maps and a Land Cruiser, we didn’t have any issues. A lot of rustic charm with this property. The walk from the parking area to the house requires at least the ability to hike about 50 feet of elevation on a rocky path. Not a big deal in the dark nor was getting the water turned on. The kitchen was well anppointed and we cooked a breakfast and a dinner with no issues. Wonderful central living space with a small bunk bedroom and a partitioned space with a trundle bed. The loft was great and the extra 1/2 bath up there was an added bonus.The highlight of the property was the hot tub deck, which we took full advantage of to star gaze and catch as many mentors as we could. Saw a couple impressive ones and one absolutely stunning fireball.Location is good and your maybe 10-12 minute to Idyllwild proper. The unit itself is rustic charm. Well appointed hunting cabin with some flair, but she’s an old girl…so expect some creaks. Highly responsive hosts!!

We did a quick weekend getaway to relax, hike and recharge, and that is just what the cabin provided for us. Alex was extremely communicative and gave us all of the information that we needed to have a great stay. The cabin was comfortable and "cabiny", and that is a good thing. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the pots, pans and utensils you would need should you decided to cook, which we did. AC is available, but we ended up not needing it at all. We simply opened a couple of the windows and used the ceiling fan. The hot tub was also welcomed after a long day of hiking. If we are ever going to be back in the area, we will keep The Lodge on our list.

Nice but hard to get to.

The place was nice. The Hot Tub was great. Good kitchen with good amenities. Everything was good, but… getting to the house one a one way street, you have to go down and turn around to get up the hill to park. Then there is a hike 200 feet and up 30 ft elevation that’s winding, gravel, and dirt. I had to make 6 trips up and down with my food and suitcases. If this was a place you would park and take your things in 20 feet on the same level, I would stay again. I’m older so this was hard for me. If you’re younger and don’t mind the hike up to it, I think you will like it.

Hidden gem.

I have to start with mentioning how exceptional the owners of the property are. They are kind, thoughtful, detailed and unbelievably responsive. The lodge was perfect for my weekend getaway. It is charming, cozy and current all at the same time. All necessary kitchen appliances, bathroom fixtures, etc. are newer so you have all you need. They have added so many thoughtful touches, that enhanced my stay, that I truly felt cared about. I was able to bring my dog and they cared about him just as much. They even have extra dog beds if needed! The view. You have to see it for yourself. Sunrise, sunset or watching the stars in the sky from the hot tub will leave you and and grateful. I can't wait to go back.

Definitely tucked away! But adorable area!

The hosts were super nice and accommodating! We were able to check in early which was great. The property was cute. The hot tub was nice to have. We really enjoyed the wood burning stove. Upstairs loft has low ceilings so be careful going up/down stairs and using the upstairs bathroom (it’s very tiny). Overall we enjoyed the stay a lot and the cooler Weather on the holiday! Only major downfall is that The entrance was more of a trek than expected. There is no real clear path, but up the side of an unkept hill. We had a ton of stuff so it was pretty inconvenient to get it all up and down. The info about this is at the very bottom of the listing, wish it would’ve been more upfront

Great Cabin Home in a Really Special Location.

The house itself is fantastic. Clean, cozy, and well-stocked with most basic items that you would need. The highlight of the cabin is the deck which is an excellent social space. Plenty of seating options. Did not get a chance to use the hot tub but it is a great feature as well. I loved sitting out in the morning with a cup of coffee and reading the photo history book of the area that was sitting next to the fireplace in the mornings. That brings me to the location. Holy cow. The views in the photos already looked great but we were not prepared for the absolute stunning beauty of the panoramic vistas that you can see from the cabin and the deck. I would go so far as to compare it to something you might see in Yosemite but right here in the Inland Empire. You absolutely must brave the cold nights to get a fantastic look at the stars. You’re close to Idyllwild town. Alex is excellent with communication and the setting is magic. The roads are a little dicey if you’re not used to mountain driving and the hike up to the house is a bit of a challenge while carrying bags and heavy items but it’s all worth it. You really cannot go wrong.
