Beautiful home and backyard in a perfect location to Jacksonville Beach! We loved walking to the pier every night and eating at the local restaurants. The beach cottage was well maintained, pet friendly, and in a quiet neighborhood. We definitely plan to visit again!!

The home was even better than expected! Beautiful inside with a lovely outdoor area, in addition the hosts provided beach chairs, sand castle builders and boogies boards that could be easily hauled to the shore in their wagon just a short walk away. Everything you would need to enjoy your time at the beach. Highly recommend!!

Very comfortable spacious one level home. Everything was clean and neat. The neighborhood was quiet and within walking distance to the beach, local restaurants and groceries. Jenny was our home manager. She responded quickly to each email sent. We had a great stay. If we could’ve booked another night, we would have.

The property was well maintained and very inviting. We really appreciated the written communication that gave us details about the property. The location was perfect for us. The backyard unfortunately was not as pictured on the website and the area that once was grass was in very rough shape. Not quite sure why the landscaper came each week. The first time they came they literally were at the property for 10 minutes and the second time they came they were at the property 20 minutes. Both times all they did was blow leaves around. They never cut the grass in the front yard and they never collected the leaves or debri in the backyard or out front.

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay Beth and appreciate the comments on the landscaping. Unfortunately, we had two unusual hard freezes this winter which has devastated most of the area landscaping, including our own. The yard is scheduled for a complete overhaul later this month, however for the health of the plants we have to wait until after the threat of frost has passed to do the major cutting back. It will all recover, it just takes some time! We hope you'll come back and enjoy what a lush yard it typically is!

Mediocre Space

Property is downstairs only, could hear upstairs tenants coming and going during entire stay. Primary bedroom under upstairs tenants and could hear them walking around during bedtime. Sleeping arrangements differed from what was communicated/offered. Stains on window treatments, rugs, and seating. Property did not smell freshly cleaned but was not necessarily dirty. Location is fairly prime for being close to the beach and restaurants/bars.

Hello— The listing description is clear that this is a downstairs unit. We made up the twin beds per your request so not sure what differed for you there. This review is not in line with our other guest experiences or reviews. We regret that your one night stay was not enjoyed.

Downstairs Apartment

This is our first ever negative review of a property from any online rental platform. We did not actually stay in the apartment more than about 45 minutes so we left 5/5 stars on anything other than the reason we left. This is not an 1100 sq ft home rental. It is a home divided into up/down apartments. We could hear people stomping up and down stairs from the driveway when we arrived, and once we got into the rental, it was actually vibrating through the space. We then heard a toilet flush upstairs and it sounded like water was running down the wall separating the kitchen from bedroom #1. We text the owner who immediately responded back. I am posting the exact responses below. 'Hello— the home is a duplex though there isn’t a lot of overlap with the sides. the stairs to the other side are on the other side of the house where the other driveway is. In case you missed it the garage and outdoor shower are shared with the two units.' 'We’ve not had any feedback on noise between the units, in fact, there is extra insulation— it is a family staying upstairs so there shouldn’t be any late night noise affecting sleep. There are also sound machines in each bedroom if that helps!' So there has never been an issue with noise but there are noise cancellation devices in each bedroom? To be clear, it was incredibly loud and this listing does not state a duplex, so the owner needs to clarify what this is. We had to find a hotel at the last minute and pay for both. Cleaning fee refunded.

Dear Donovan, It is unfortunate that The Oak was not what you expected, we make every effort to share all necessary information in our listing so guests can thoroughly enjoy their visit (as is apparent by our 5 star ratings). The listing clearly indicates that the house is a downstairs unit and that some limited spaces (the garage and outdoor shower) are shared. The Oak unit is 1100 sq ft, as indicated in the listing. We encourage all guests to thoroughly read/review photos of listings prior to booking and to also reach out if they have any special requirements.
