Terrific location

This location is absolutely wonderful! The house is a bit dated, but Kelly was super helpful and accommodating. The beautiful setting, right across the quiet road from the sandy beach on the bay, was the highlight.

Perfect beach for families!

We enjoyed our stay at this rental. The private beach is the selling feature of this home. Only one room has air conditioning but with the numerous fans it was not hot. Great location to many fun things to do!

Beautiful location on West Arm GT bay - gorgeous beach and amazing water. Looking due south so you have sun from sunrise to sunset. We will be back next summer!!!

Girl's Trip 2023

This was an awesome property for our girl's trip. We loved the beach and close proximity to our favorite wineries and golf courses. The home was spacious and clean. We enjoyed a fire each evening and had a blast playing ping pong. Kelly the property manager was so kind and helpful. We are excited to return!

Truly “Up North”

This home is charming, and the property is stunning. We had a 3 and 1 year old with us, and the easy access to the gorgeous private beach was amazing. The home itself is very accommodating for lots of sleepers and has a great cabin feel. The hosts are incredible and we’re very communicative and accommodating to some unique requests. We recommend this home to anyone with little kids and really hope to come back next year!

Beach is close to perfect.

Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and both Dave and Kelly were very helpful and responsive! The house was ready to go, very clean and as advertised aside from the AC unit only being on the first floor. Fans and open windows helped keep things comfortable! The beach is beautiful and we enjoyed it very much, but unfortunately, given the winds during our visit the beach did get covered in what appeared to be mashed wood chips two of the days. Overall, very good.

Excellent Family Getaway

As soon as we arrived Kelly was there to greet us and get us all set up. She was especially kind and helpful! Our party consisted of 4 adults (parents and grandparents) and 2 children (boys 8 & 11). The home was perfect for us! Incredibly clean, lots of towels, plenty of space and a fabulous beach! I was worried when I booked that crossing the street would be an issue as far as safety and inconvenience. I was so wrong. Very minimal traffic not an issue at all as far as safety for my kids and the distance from the house to the beach was a 30 second walk - very doable when you need drink refill :) We were shocked how far we could venture out into the water before it even hit our waists. The boys LOVED it!!!! Nice sandy bottom, crystal clear water- what more could you ask for?!? The fire pit was the cherry on top. Many nights of smores, wine and cheese, and storytelling with lots of laughter! My husband was angry with me that I booked a home with no air conditioning but he even said that it was never a problem during our stay. They have lots of fans and the windows allow for a wonderful breeze. I still brought a few fans of my own to be safe (and keep my husband happy) but I really didn't need to. My boys spent so much time building sandcastles, playing in the water, snorkeling, riding their bikes and exploring that it left no time for electronics (if you have kids you understand how wonderful it is to get them off their devices) which made my heart sing!!!! Thank you so much for an absolutely unforgettable summer vacation!

Best beach ever

The house is big and had plenty of room for us. No AC upstairs, but it was only hot 1 night. If you're tall watch out walking around, I hit my head a few times pretty hard on some low ceilings. The location of this house facing south toward Traverse City is maybe the best location on with peninsula. The lake is incredibly shallow here and you can walk out hundreds of feet. The wind was lower here then elsewhere too. Kelly manages the property and lives right next door and is very helpful.

Perfect Beach!

This property was a great rental for a week enjoying the beauty of Michigan. The beach, just across the street, is perfect with lots of provided seating and shallow entry to the water. The house is well maintained and the owners are very responsive.

Wonderful stay

We had such a fabulous week at this house! The setting was beautiful and the layout of the house helped the 7 of us all feel spread out. We enjoyed games and meals at the big table and evenings sitting by the beach across the street. Some serious competition was had with the ping pong table in the garage. The location was so great for day trips. Kelly was so accommodating and communicative. You could not ask for a kinder welcome. We are counting the days until we can return!

Relaxing family getaway

This property afforded just the relaxing beach getaway we were looking for. My husband, sister in law, two daughters, and I enjoyed the beach every day. The long stretch of private beach with shallow water is just perfect for young kids. My 9 year old never wanted to leave. The ping pong table in the garage was also a hit. Kelly was fantastic to work with - couldn't have asked for more from a host. The lack of air conditioning upstairs was a challenge on a couple of nights, but windows and fans made for comfortable sleeping most of the time. The quirkiness of the house made for epic games of hide and seek for the girls. All in all, it had everything we needed for a great week, including a large dining room table for meals and games every night.

Gorgeous Beach & Beautiful Location

My family and I spent a week at this location. The beach is beautiful. Our girls loved playing in the sand building sand castles. The water is shallow for a long while which gave us great peace of mind while the girls played. The house is spacious with plenty of places to sleep. There is an air conditioning unit in the living room with the pull out couch and plenty of fans throughout the home. It really cooled down at night which made the upstairs bedrooms very comfortable. Kelly lives next door and was always available if we needed her. We had a horrible storm during our stay and she was great about communicating when the power would be back on. During our stay, we visited several wineries nearby (the view from Two K farms nearby is beautiful!), Traverse City and Old Mission. We had a lovely stay!

Very responsive owners, great location!

We arrived after about 7 inches of rainfall had washed out the beach which is just across the lightly traveled road. Kelly, one of the owners, and her husband had anticipated this and had brought in a pile of sand and rebuilt the whole thing the next day. This is the perfect example of how great it was to have one of the owners next door. They are unobtrusive but incredibly responsive to any request. We had 8 friends staying and used every bed plus a blow up mattress we brought and for which Kelly provided sheets. The kitchen is small but very well stocked with newer dishes, cutlery and cooking tools. We were lacking nothing and we cooked a lot! One of the bedrooms is open to the kitchen so if you are a light sleeper you might want to pick another one. The home is kind of quirky which can be charming, however, some in our group had a bit of a challenge with the steep stairway(s) leading to the second floor and the steep sloping ceiling in the master bedroom. The location is perfect- right off M22 so you don't have all that traffic but close to Sutton's Bay and other areas of the Leelanau. We found plenty of petoskey stones right on the cottage's beach which was also thoughtfully stocked with firewood for use in the fire ring, chairs, lounges and a hammock. As it's on the bay, you can kayak or paddle board. Plenty of parking in the driveway.

Relaxing waterfront home

Beautiful location!

We had a great time staying at David and Kelly’s property in Sutton’s Bay. Neat house, large front yard, and a beautiful beach. Quiet area, but still close enough to Sutton’s Bay and Traverse City that you don’t feel like going into town is an inconvenience. The water gradually gets deeper, which is great for little kids. Can’t wait to go back next year.

Great summer vacation house

Our family of 4 had a great time at this vacation rental. The private beach was great for our young kids and we enjoyed several day trips around the TC area. The house had everything we needed and was neat and clean upon our arrival. Check-in was easy with Kelly right next door and she was always available to help if we had any questions. It was also interesting to hear some of the history of the house from her. Overall would highly recommend this house for a family trip to the TC area.

Perfect place for a change of scene

This was our first VRBO experience and it was wonderful. The house was exactly as advertised and had everything we needed for the week. In particular the kitchen was very well-equipped and the beach was fantastic for our three kids. We would love to stay again.

Great Family Vacation

Excellent time had by the whole family, house was great, time spent at the beach was excellent in the sun, and also around the fire pit on the beach after dark. Suttons Bay area provided wonderful excursions for dinner as well as the wineries.

Great location. Beach/View Are Amazing. Older Home

David was very accommodating of our group size. David spent a significant amount of time with me on the phone answering questions and describing the property. This was much appreciated given logistics in getting Colorado family to property. Unfortunately shortly after arrival we were questioned by owner’s sister and spouse who lives on property due to our group size, tent in front yard, and kids playing on lawn near garlic. A phone call was required with David to confirm group size and address garlic garden issue. It was unfortunate the trip started on this negative tone after a long day of travel. David made exception and allowed us to use tent on concrete despite policy prohibiting tents. This was very much appreciated given our group size of 12. I would caution groups with young children to bring safety gates as stairs in home are steep and road has frequent semi traffic during cherry harvest. We purchased safety gate at meijer for minimal cost. Owner might consider making a few modifications for safety(railings on stairs, safety gates for kids, non slip tub in shower, etc.)to prevent injury. Overall wonderful week on beach and water. Our challenges at the start of the week were more due to our large group size and 6 young children rather than issues with the house. Sandy beach worked perfect for parking pontoon boat. Kids found lots of Petoskey stones and enjoyed the boating. Ping pong table in garage got much use in the evenings. Lots of wonderful memories created on the beach/water.
