5 Stars! One of our favorite family stays ever.This home was perfect for our multi-generational group of 7 (ages 4 to 64)!Highlights:Views & Layout: Spacious with authentic Colorado vibe. The multiple balconies and deck offer unbelievable views!Amenities: Well-stocked kitchen for home-cooked meals, and the garage game room was a massive hit with everyone.Location: Easy 2-minute drive to town, or a beautiful 2.5-mile scenic walk. Plus, delicious coffee and pizza are right at the bottom of the hill!Host & Service: The hosts were incredibly communicative, and their local guide book was top-tier.Spending quality family time together on the deck made this trip unforgettable. We can't wait to return!

Lovely stay with beautiful views

The house is beautiful, including the views, and everyone was comfortable, slept well and enjoyed their stay. We had plenty of room to both spend time together and retreat a bit too. The location was perfect for us and the host is especially thoughtful all around. It was a lovely stay.

Very nice house in a quiet neighborhood. Plenty of room to spread out but also large spaces (living room, deck, outside firepit) for everyone to come together. Just as advertised and just what we needed.

Great getaway in Durango

This house is great for groups and families. It has beautiful views and is very well maintained. Communication is effortless, and prompt. The host's rules are common-sense, making for a relaxing stay.

Galaxy Durango July 2025 Stay

Great floorpan...ping pong table in garage was a real hit!...outdoor decks provided beautiful views...big, functional kitchen...good location to access Purgatory, Narrow Gauge, Durango Hot Springs and the Chuckwagon Dinner.

Beautiful Durango

This home was clean with plenty of room for our group of nine adults. Very spacious bedrooms and well equipped kitchen. Excellent location for hiking trails and fishing activities. Close to historic downtown. Exceptional views from the balconies.

Winter Fun

We had an amazing time at the Galaxy House. It was perfect for two families with small children. The view was astonishing and exactly what we wanted while staying in Durango city limits.

This is a great property in Durango offering an abundance of space for multiple guests and quite a bit of driveway space. We were part of the Hummer Club of America doing a 3-Day event in the area. We were able to fit all of our larger vehicles on the driveway which was a plus. The extra garage space came in handy for unloading, tools, etc. Really enjoyed this place and will probably stay there again for next year's event. Communication was a great with the owners.

A rare jewel to find! The house was even better then promised. The view is just breath taking, and the balconies are wonderful. We had a fantastic time in the house. Best equipped kitchen I ever encountered in a vacation home, and it is thoughtful decorated, plenty of pillows and blankets. Perfect location for all the things to do in the area. And 3 cars can easily park there. It was very easy to communicate with the host Rebecca, and even the move out procedure was so painless.Thank you Rebecca for sharing your beautiful house with us!!One little thing that actually should be addressed is the dining table. It's a beautiful and big table, no questions asked, but it is so uneven, that plates kind of floating in the air, and hard to eat off. But really, not a deal breaker at all :) We would definitely stay again!!

Delightful!

Beautiful, relaxing home near all Durango amenities. While we did not have children staying with us, the home is well-suited for families. Multiple living areas, as well as kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms were well appointed. Views from all rooms and deck were incredible. This one's a keeper!

Amazing stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the Galaxy Getaway! Becky is the most friendly and gracious host! The house is huge and has every amenity we needed! Our kids absolutely loved the mortal combat arcade game in the garage! It was a big hit! The house was very clean and well maintained! The location was perfect with amazing views! Overall this was by far the best VRBO we have rented! I highly recommend Galaxy Getaway!

Wonderful Visit

The property is beautiful and well-maintained. The views are stunning. Becky was very responsive when we had a couple of questions. We really appreciated the initial supply of products (washer pods, dishwasher pods, paper towels, etc.)--especially that 2 reusable shopping bags were provided. A very nice touch.

Great Location

This house is so beautiful and was right next to everything in town! Becky was very communicative and we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Some notes for parents - the house has books, games, and a little table for them to sit and play at (very cute!) but there are a lot of stairs and slick for kids with socks. The house DOES have baby gates as a part of the three levels of stairs so very thoughtful of the owners to make sure the kids are safe. Overall, we would stay again!

Great Views, Lots of Room

The view is breathtaking. We’ve been to Durango several times, but always staying in hotels, or with family nearby. Galaxy Gateway was a great way to experience Durango at a more relaxed pace. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. We loved that the bedrooms were at different levels than the kitchen and family room so the early risers (me) didn’t disturb the late sleepers (everyone else). The game room in the garage was fun for the kids and gave the adults time to get ready for our excursions or fix meals. In the evening we enjoyed relaxing on the main deck facing northeast as the day cooled. Our hosts were prompt to answer our questions before our stay, and they made us feel welcome during our stay.

Nice house in a good location.

The house was very nice, well stocked and in a good location. Here are a couple things to know. The upstairs beds are VERY firm. Some people like that, we did not. It was 85-90 degrees when we stayed there and it's a 3 story house. With that being said the NEST thermostat is located on the 2nd floor and when it doesn't see motion it reverts back to 75 degrees. That doesn't sound too bad however it takes hours to get the house cooled down and the 3rd floor is always warm. They do have portable AC units in the upstairs bedrooms and they do help if you keep the doors closed and run them all day. However they are noisy and the compressor cycles often. If you are a light sleeper like us it's a problem.Overall we had a good experience and our complaints are just our personal prefinance.

The home was well located to downtown Durango and a perfect home base for a large group to explore Durango and the surrounding area. It was clean, well provisioned, and had spectacular Mountain View’s. We enjoyed cocktails and breakfast on the many decks! We were a group of girlfriends who hope to be back with our spouses. Highly recommend!
