Summary:
Two homes share one fully fenced 2.3-acre lot at Moonstone Bungalow, and every corner of it has something going on. There is pickleball and full-court basketball, a pool with its own bathroom, a sauna and a cold plunge, and a hot tub that looks straight at the outdoor movie screen. Inside, the award-winning sun room lounge is where the day finally slows down. Seven bedrooms, one big reunion. The only hard part is picking the movie.
The Space:
Moonstone Bungalow is two homes on a 2.3-acre fully fenced lot: a main house with more than 3,000 square feet of living space and an 1,100 square foot casita. Large windows frame desert and mountain views, and the sun room lounge has an award-winning design all its own. Five bedrooms and three bathrooms are in the main house, two bedrooms and one bathroom in the casita, and a fifth bathroom sits by the pool. Between the courts, the pool, the outdoor movie setup and the game room, there is something going on in every corner, a natural fit for large families, reunions and groups of friends. Fair warning: the bean bags by the screen go fast.

-Outdoor Amenities-
The yard is set up for long days outside. Cool off in the in-ground pool, which has its own bathroom with a shower close by, then move to the private hot tub, where you can watch the outdoor movie from the water. The sauna and cold plunge sit side by side for hot and cold sessions. The cold plunge is drained, cleaned and left empty before every stay, and you can fill it with the hose nearby; ice is not provided, so pick up a few bags (about 50 lbs) at a local grocery store if you plan to use it.
The pickleball court and full-court basketball court keep competitive groups busy, and the outdoor movie theater with bean bag chairs takes over after dark. Gather around the custom fire pit and fireplace for stories and snacks, sway in the hanging hammocks or settle under the pergola in a hanging chair. The 2.3-acre lot is fully fenced.
-Living Area-
The main house has open living areas with large windows that look out to the desert and mountains. The sun room lounge is a bright place for morning coffee, and the game room doubles as a second living room with an 8-ball pool table, shuffleboard and a massive couch for hanging out.
-Kitchen and Dining-
The fully equipped kitchen is built around a big custom concrete island, with room for several cooks and plenty of space for the group to gather. A dining area sits alongside, so big breakfasts and family-style dinners come together easily. It is a kitchen for groups that like to cook and eat together.
-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
Across the two homes there are seven bedrooms. Five are in the main house and two are in the casita, with king beds in five of the rooms, two queen beds in one room and a double bed in another. The primary bedroom includes a dedicated desk.
The main house has three bathrooms, and a fifth bathroom with a shower sits in the pool area.
-The Casita-
The casita is a second house on the property, about 1,100 square feet, with two bedrooms and its own bathroom. Quieter and more private than the main house, it is a cozy place for part of the group to settle in, and it has a desk for remote work.

Joshua Tree National Park is the draw for hiking, climbing, scenic drives and sunsets among the boulders. Downtown Joshua Tree has shops, restaurants, galleries and a golf course. ► Any locked closet, room or storage area on the property is reserved for rental supplies and is off limits to guests. Guests may be held responsible for damage or missing items if a locked area is entered.
► Please avoid using the hot tub immediately after it has been serviced, as chemical levels are higher than usual for a short time. Please rinse off any oils, lotions or other products before entering, and keep the cover on when the hot tub is not in use, as desert debris easily gets into the water. No drinking in the hot tub, please. Any misuse of the hot tub may result in an additional charge for extra maintenance.
-Pool Heating Fee-
Should you wish to have the pool heated to 85 degrees, please notify us in advance of your arrival, as there will be a supplemental charge per day for this service due to high fuel costs in this area. Please note that we will need at least 24 hours' notice to heat the pool.
► $350 first night, $250 each night after
During the winter months, please be aware that colder outdoor temperatures may cause the pool to feel cooler than its maintained temperature of 85°F. We kindly ask that you ensure this temperature meets your comfort level before submitting a request, as refunds cannot be issued on this basis.
-Pool and Hot Tub Service-
The pool and hot tub are serviced regularly, approximately between 9am and 4pm, and service may fall during your stay. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.

Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group.
