Great place to stay. I love the sinks in each bathroom upstairs...so convenient. We had 6 people staying and we had so much room. Wonderful seating outside to eat and enjoy the pine trees and wild turkeys that strutted though the trees. Ample parking which also allowed turn around ability.My only request would be is there an option to put a motion light on the corner/side of the house facing the parking area in front of the house. I arrived after dark and it was quite dark (I think my house mate didn't have the porch light on, and I wasn't aware to ask). Thanks.

Wonderful Stay

My husband and I stayed 2 weeks. The home is perfectly situated. Private, yet close to Glaze Meadow pool and activities. The deck is a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the view of the forest. Pam, the host is easy to communicate with and responsive. We will definitely stay again!

Great rental

Highly recommend the house. The rooms were large and full of light. The living room and kitchen open towards the national forest; loved sitting on the patio and watching the deer roaming around. Pam was a great host, she made sure we had everything we needed prior to our arrival. This is my fourth time staying in Black Butte, I would definitely rent this house again.

Good location

We liked being on the edge of the woods. The room with twin beds not very comfortable. Sound really carries in this house. Kitchen is small. But it’s a fine basic house for a short getaway.

Overall great stay!!

Arriving at the house was a bit uncomfortable in the beginning because the cleaning lady was still there a bit after 4pm (check in time), had not finished laundry so we had to move stuff from the dryer to one of the rooms in order for her to leave, and then she said she couldn’t find her vape pen so she asked if we found it to leave it out for her. She made sure to mention it wasn’t marijuana even though we did not ask. Although she did apologize for being there it’s not really what you expect to be dealing with as a first encounter on your vacation. A heads up would have been nice and the whole “vape pen” thing was awkward. We did end up finding it upstairs and left it out on our last day. Overall, my now fiancé and I (proposed to on this trip!!) enjoyed the house. It’s gorgeous and not too close to other houses plus the speakers in the living room are so nice to have. Overlooking the uncomfortable beginning I highly recommend this place to anyone because last time I stayed here that did not happen.

Relaxing stay at Black Butte Ranch

You can't beat the location of this house, walking distance to Glaze Meadow pool and also on the edge of the forest with trees as far as you can see. Watch the deer pass by the windows as you relax in one of the many lounge chairs on the porch. Absolutely lovely!

Great stay in remote area of BBR.

The house was the perfect location for a weekend getaway and a quick drive to either Sisters or Hoodoo for skiing. The back deck was beautiful and surrounded by trees. The house was well stocked with appliances and extra things like spices too!

Great rental in Black Butte

We enjoyed the proximity to Hoodoo skiing and the snow parks nearby for sledding and cross country. The back ‘yard’ is the forest and our kids loved exploring. The house was comfortable and fit two families of four well. Had everything we needed without unnecessary frills. We would definitely stay here again!

Quiet, peaceful cabin!

Layout is really great - large 2-story windows in main living area, and two bedrooms on the top, and two on main level. Nice, light-filled, fully-stocked kitchen. Wood-burning and large stone fireplace. No garage, but there are closets within which ski gear could be placed. Out the back, no houses or people at all - just the Deschutes National Forest. Great place to recharge for a few days or many more!

CHARMING RUSTIC CABIN WITH PEACEFUL SURROUNDINGS

Excellent quiet location away from main streets. Backs to peaceful forest. Walking distance to glaze meadow rec center and pools. The house feels like a home in the mountains instead of a home in the suburbs, as many new black butte properties mimic. The grill and spacious back deck were perfect for our large family to enjoy dinners and quiet time listening to the ponderosa trees sway in the wind. Beds are more on the soft side if that's your preference. Skylights in upstairs bedrooms guarantee an early rise which we didn't mind at all. Spent a relaxing 10 days at this charming rustic cabin in our favorite resort in Oregon. Recommended.

Always a great stay

We have rented this house dozens of times. It is the perfect location with the National forest behind & GM pool within walking distance. Very comfortable for both kids & adults. Very clean & it now has AC! Covid has impacted some of the options around BBR due to staffing, but it still was a great vacation.

Great Location and Comfortable

Great location. Enjoyed stay very much. Place was as advertised. Surprise positives: Advertised as 2 bath, but both upstairs bedrooms have large sink area which was as good or better than 2.5 baths. Surprise negatives: No garage so storage tight for bikes and golf clubs. A/C was very important in the summer. Thks.

Great location, excellent communication from host, although we never had to communicate past the past the pre-check in as everything ran so smoothly. Had everything we needed for the perfect BBR summer vacation.

Wonderful stay and amazing hosts!

We booked this property for a winter getaway at Black Butte Ranch with another family and we were very happy with everything! The hosts were amazing and offered us the flexibility needed for our group as we were traveling during a huge storm in Oregon. The property is in a perfect location on the ranch, very private and a beautiful view from the large picture windows (we saw elk from the living room twice!) and a short walk to the the main pool and recreation center. We cooked all our meals and the kitchen had everything we needed. The large wood burning fireplace was wonderful and added to the cozy feel of the home. Thank you so much for everything and we hope to come back!

I am not your maid service

I take full responsibility - I should have read the reviews and note the comments about the checkout process. Yes, they do state to allow enough time and do the towels the night before. Asking me to fold them and stack on top of the dryer - really? That's a bit much. And if you want to have breakfast in the morning, you better wake up at 6AM (yeah, on your vacation), so you can load the dishwasher and run it to completion before you leave in time for checkout. They ask all this so you will turn off the water. This does not make sense for many reasons, including the fact that they keep the house at 55 degrees, thus a really low chance of any pipes freezing. But besides that, the cleaning service needs to use water, so they have to turn it on again. Assuming the cleaning service is going to come within the week, why not have the checkout process be like EVERYONE ELSES and you start a load of laundry and the dishwasher before leaving??? Then the cleaning people can turn off the water when they live. This is the first place ever where I've had to do this much maid service. They reason that the cleaning service doesn't have time to get it all done. I don't believe that, because everyone else has a cleaning service that gets it all done. Maybe think about getting a new cleaning service? Granted the fees are lower, but not worth it. We won't be staying here again because of this checkout process. Oh, and I must have been the first person EVER to clean the lint out from the dryer. It was like a friggin' stuffed animal in there. I did take a photo, but too bad we can't attach it. No wonder the dryer takes a long time to do towels, as they mention in the checkout. I managed to put the heat on medium and run it regular (rather than super high heat and longer time, as I found the default t be) and the towels were dry in an hour. You're welcome for saving you energy and oh, yeah, preventing a DRYER FIRE. So, really, I think you just need to get a new maid service that can get it done.

Dear Micah - We are sorry that you felt burdened by doing a load of towels and running the dishwasher. We ask guests to do a load of towels because our cleaners also have to do all the sheets and often some of the blankets and adding the towels may cause them to still be cleaning when our next guests arrive and we want the house to be perfect. Who wants to have cleaners in the house when they arrive! Contrary to your comments, during power outages, we have had the unfortunate experience of frozen and broken pipes that caused several thousand dollars of repairs. For that reason, in the winter, we ask guests to turn off the water when they leave. We also do not believe it is safe to leave appliances running when visitors leave. If something did go wrong it might not be noticed for days which would cause even more damage and expense. Thank you for cleaning out the dryer vent. We will remind the cleaners about clearing it after they do the laundry.

We live in Portland but spend as much time as possible at Black Butte Ranch. Our three boys, now adults, love our home at the Ranch and still spend as much time there as jobs allow. When they were younger, they loved being able to bicycle around the ranch on their own, visiting each of the 5 pools as well as exploring in the woods near the house. We love visiting the nearby Metolius River to fly fish and hike. We play golf together on the two great golf courses and tennis and pickleball on the many available courts. Of course we can ride our bikes everywhere. An annual trek to the top of Black Butte where you can see all the surrounding mountains including, Mt. Hood, Mt Adams, Mt. Jefferson and Washington and Three Finger Jack and the Three Sisters. It is quite a view!

Perché ha scelto questa struttura

We purchased the property because we wanted a combination of a quiet setting and nearby activities for adults and kids. Black Butte Ranch is perfect for both. Our home is backed by forest service property so our only neighbors off the back deck are the deer, elk and turkeys that wander through. When we want more activity Glaze Meadow Rec Center with its two pools, courts and spa is a 5 minute walk, or South Meadow Pool is a short bike ride away. Bike paths take us everywhere on the Ranch.

Being located adjacent to forest service property provides a lot of privacy as well as the opportunity to see more wildlife. Deer usually walk through the property at least once a day. The big deck is a wonderful gathering place for family and friends and in the winter the two story fireplace keeps everyone toasty. Our home is also located close to Glaze Meadow Recreation Center for swimming, sunbathing, workout room, steam room, hot tub, tennis, basketball, pickle ball, water aerobics and yoga, and we are close to Glaze Meadow Golf.
