"Puanani", hawaiano per splendidi fiori, è una casa di famiglia in stile hawaiano situata alla fine di un tranquillo vicolo cieco a breve distanza a piedi dalla baia e dalla città di Hanalei. Un ampio cortile con plumeria, ibisco, gelsomino in fiore di notte e un rigoglioso giardino con uccelli canori melodici possono essere goduti dal lanais coperto anteriore e posteriore. Decorata con mobili in vimini e bambù e progettata con soffitti con travi a vista e pareti in cedro naturale, la casa offre un'atmosfera spaziosa e confortevole.

La spiaggia a mezzaluna della baia di Hanalei è a pochi passi per prendere il sole, pettinare la spiaggia, nuotare in stagione e tramonti spettacolari. Fai una passeggiata lungo la spiaggia fino allo storico molo di Hanalei per ammirare viste mozzafiato sulle montagne e sulle cascate circostanti.

Un'altra breve passeggiata conduce alla pittoresca cittadina di Hanalei, dove si trovano numerosi negozi e ristoranti insieme a un mercato e un ufficio postale. Durante l'esplorazione di questa città storica, assaggia le specialità locali, il ghiaccio tritato e i frullati.

Nice house. Very private on a small cul-de-sac. Neighbors can be a little noisy at times -- loud conversations/music until 11pm or so isn't uncommon. But super convenient to the Lahaina main strip...easily walkable to tons of restaurants, shops, and the beach. No A/C, so you'll use the fans a lot in the summer. Kitchen has the basics, but no dishwasher.

This home was in really good shape, the stove was newer than the photos and it was a really enjoyable home base for our week in Hanalei.

Great place

Terrific location - just a short, 5-minute walk to the middle of Hanalei Bay beach.Very nice place, with much more character than a condo.Only problem was a rooster who started crowing before midnight and kept it up off and on for the rest of the night. I asked my son to get out of bed, go find it, and make us some rooster fricassee. But he wouldn't.This happened only one night out of 5. No idea why.

1973 Beach Cottage Time Capsule

This property ended up becoming our home for 4 days and not just a place to sleep and plop our stuff into. The location can not be understated, the beach was 5 minutes in one direction and town was 5 minutes in the other. All you need and more is within walking distance. The property was incredibly clean and every drawer had exactly what you needed. There were plenty of towels provided and a larger main bathroom than I expected. There were also unexpected beach chairs, snorkel gear, and a beach umbrella provided in the laundry space. There was an overall sense of love and care to the space that was palpable. We can’t wait to come back. I can’t leave a review without mentioning that if you are needing a/c or a dishwasher they won’t be found here. This place is a true beach cottage from another time but that isn’t a downgrade.

We never used the tv, so didn't have any issues with sound, which it seems like other visitors have had with the neighbors. The neighbor did ask for us to turn off a porch light but she was perfectly nice about it.

Great Location - Not a relaxing environment

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is lovely, in a typical Hawaiian style. It is in a great location in Hanalei - a couple blocks to the shops and the beach and has a very nice garden and deck area. The neighborhood is a bit of a challenge however owing to the complete lack of soundproofing. Quiet time is mentioned but this includes INSIDE the home too. Forget watching TV after dinner for which we were visited, yelled and swore at. I enjoyed a similar experience a couple days later (without the visit) for talking too loudly while doing the dishes at 8 20 in the evening.Bring a good book. Go to bed at 8pm. Talk to no-one for the remainder of the night and you'll be fine. It is a house I would have gladly returned to but NOT in the current environment - nor will I be encouraging friends and family to go.

Wonderful Stay

Reviewer Comments: Puanani is a great little house in a fantastic location just a couple of blocks off the Hanalei strip of shops and restaurants on a quiet cul de sac (save for the 5 AM roosters). It was perfect for our family of four (our adult children shared the room with twin beds, I and my wife slept in the master bedroom). The house has two bedrooms, two bathrooms indoors, plus an outdoor shower. The electric range was fine, even for a gas snob like myself, and there's a large gas grill. Outdoor table on the deck makes for pleasant meals. Washer/Dryer and 4 beach chairs and umbrella were on site, a nice bonus. No AC and no dishwasher, but we were never hot (in April temps peaked at around 80). If you are looking for luxury, Puanani is not for you. But if you are looking to live comfortably "like a local" for a few days in the best part of the island, I highly recommend.

Fully stocked kitchen for cooking in, chairs and umbrella for the beach and a great outdoor shower. Easy stroll into town or to the beach. I might recommend some new furniture for the lanai but this place is still a gem! Can’t wait to come back!
