Marta's home is a designer's dream—every element is thoughtfully considered and beautifully cared for. The house was impeccably clean, filled with natural light, and immediately felt calm and welcoming.Beyond its beautiful design, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay: a well-equipped kitchen, a gas grill, two bathrooms, and a gorgeous backyard filled with flowers where we even spotted bunnies hopping through the garden.What surprised us most was how inspiring the space felt. We came to Greenport simply looking for a place to stay and left talking about the house as much as the town. Even our teenage daughter walked in and immediately said, "Wow."We would happily stay here again and couldn't recommend it more highly.

Perfect vacation home for my husband and I..

We love Greenport and plan to retire in the next year or so to the area…the week in town has locked in that plan for us…. the home was convenient to walk to town, stocked with everything you needed and so clean. Marta was very responsive to our questions and even picked up the beach parking passes for us. We would absolutely return to this home again for another week or 2.. Lori

Perfect

Everything at this property was just about perfect for two professionals and their dog needing a break from the city. It’s a well appointed and organized house - very quiet, and the house opens onto lovely garden/yard providing both privacy and sunshine. Yet I t also located just minutes walking to the main town grocery, restaurants, stores. It had everything we needed for a comfortable one week stay - and everything about the house in really great shape and thoughtfully arranged and chosen with care Loved our stay at this gem of a place.

Walkable retreat in Greenport NY

House was compact, modern house filled with art & light. Lots of windows & sliding doors with screens leading to front & back patios. Small private backyard with table, chairs & umbrella. Open concept living, dining, kitchen, bedrm & bathrm on ground floor. High ceilings in living & dining areas. House clean & well stocked. Property on lovely street about 11/2 blocks to town & shops. Great vac rental.

Gorgeous home

This home is inviting, warm, and inspirational, with a beautiful artistic flare. It's a small, gorgeous space that is laid out in a thoughtful way, perfect for 2 or 4 people. It sits in a perfect location, walkable to everything. We loved our stay here and would love to rent it again! My only complaint would be that we were looking forward to using the bicycles and windsurfer that were promised in the description, but there was only one bicycle and after spending a couple hours trying to assemble the windsurfer, we determined that it was missing the downhaul, so it couldn't be used.

Beautiful house have to be careful about what you touch

The AC didn’t work for a day and a half. It was too hot to sleep. The house is absolutely beautiful but filled with things that could be broken especially if you have a dog. It says it is dog friendly, or dogs are allowed, but it does not specify that everything in the house is valuable or looks valuable. The location is great.

The photos don't do the place justice. The house was a labor of love by an architect and artist. Family artwork and European sensibilities invite guests to enjoy the beauty of Greenport 5 doors from the water. The house is perfectly situated 1/2 block from a dock and 2 blocks from Main St where coffee shops, restaurants and local shopping are an easy stroll. Greenport is a working fishing and ferry port as well as the last stop on the LIRR. But the local businesses, investment in a waterfront park and non-stop ferry service to Shelter Island keep the place busy in a good way. There is a lot of local small business pride and it is well-deserved with customer service and multicultural flair.Marta is an excellent host; easy going, flexible and calm. She has stocked the place far beyond other VRBO rentals so it was a relief not to have to purchase sundries normally not included in other rentals we've had. The gardens make the site an oasis of calm. The property is a shared footprint among garden, yard and home which is a refreshing change from houses that cover the lot end to end.The neighborhood is 2 blocks off the liveliness of Main Street so breezes off the water and summer birds are what you hear, not cars. Having never been to Greenport before, we especially enjoyed our week because this treasured home was where we stayed.

Garbage issue

House and description were more or less accurate. However it was not until I was to arrive that I was told that I had to remove my garbage to a local dump fifteen minutes away by car. I did not rent a car as greenport is a walking town. This was an inconvenience and had I known I wouldn’t have rented the house for more than six nights. I cut my trip short by 12 days. I think it should have been listed in the description etc.

We try our best to accommodate our guests and to address their individual needs but sometimes the house is not the right fit. We are strong supporters of the recycling program in Southold town and thinks it works very well to help with the trash issues on our beautiful East End. Really special place

I put a lot of stock in guest reviews, and they were on point for this listing! The house is even better than it appears in the photos. It is incredibly bright and cheerful, and it is so charming to stay in a place with such a sense of personality and history. You can tell that it is a much beloved home. It is full of wonderful art; my personal favorite was the huge, medieval city (?) sketch (watercolor?) in the darling studio. The location truly can’t be beat: on a gorgeous, tree-lined, friendly, PEACEFUL street, with a beautiful view at the bay dock - and yet just steps away from multiple good restaurants, and just around the corner from the main drag, with many more restaurants and shops. The host was very easy to communicate with, as was access to the house. One thing I really loved that isn’t mentioned or obvious from the pictures is that the backyard has really good visual privacy. I always feel weird when I’m sitting on a patio and can be seen by neighbors. Not here! FYI to future guests: the second bedroom (with the full-size bed and the futon) - along with the second bathroom with shower stall - is up the stairs in a beautiful, airy, bright loft with no door or walls fully separating it from downstairs. As such, most of the space has decent visual privacy, but not sound privacy, with the downstairs open common area (kitchen, dining, living, foyer, hallway to downstairs primary bedroom). Didn’t bother us but mentioning for those who may need to know.

Cute cottage in a convenient location. We enjoyed our 10 days here and were lucky to have beautiful weather. Greenport is a great little town and we had everything close by so we really only needed the car for the beach or the wineries. Lots to do. The cottage was very comfortable and it was obvious that a lot of love was put into it. We would love to return

Cool Little Cottage

We would consider renting this cottage again. Fun part of Greenport with restaurants and other within walking distance. Neighbors were friendly and we felt at home.

Unique contemporary home

I had a wonderful 2 week stay in this lovely home. The house is sunny with multiple floor-to-ceiling windows. The two story design is efficient & spacious. The furnishings & the decor are artful. The back yard is thoughtfully landscaped. It was my first visit to Greenport (a truly sweet town), and I enjoyed walking around town. As described, the house is within walking distance from the center of town (shops & market). The house is on a quiet tree lined block which ends in a cul de sac by the water. The host was responsive to my inquiries before & during my stay. I would stay here again.

Lovely home in perfect location

The pup & I enjoyed a wonderful week at this special home. Lots of unique artistic and architectural touches inside and out. And a perfect location to enjoy the village (just a few mins walk) when not enjoying the sunny living space and backyard. We will definitely be back!

Delightful stay!

Had a lovely stay at this sweet cottage in June. Easy walk to town, dock just down the block. Well set up for 2-3 people and my elderly mother was very happy with the ease of access in the 1st floor bedroom/bath. Would recommend.
