Home was okay, there was plenty of space, location was good, and the kitchen was well stocked with an assortment of utensils/cookware and basics like oil/spices/coffee. Bathrooms were _almost_ clean; drains were too slow not to shower in standing water, there was no soap in the bathrooms, and the bath towels were distressingly...worn in. The hot tub temperature was locked at an unbearably hot temperature, making that amenity unusable. WiFi information was not provided, none was available. Fine in a pinch, but not quite a place i'd return to voluntarily.

Sadly, in October of 2024, the owner of this house was told that the fireplace and tv’s don’t work and the dining room chairs need to be replaced. Stayed there in July, 2025 and it was still the same. I can’t recommend this home.There were food crumbs in the kitchen drawers and the dishwasher doesn’t work. It’s a shame because the house is pretty and the area is beautiful.

Property was great. House was well stocked and location was good. Would recommend putting a house binder together for information about the house. We couldnt right away find the fireplace on/off switched. No wifi but there was a Verizon hot spot I found only because someone mentioned it on a review.Main complaint is in regards to the main host Budi. We ended up talking to Brent the alternative host and Paula from the lodging office more and they were fantastic. Budi did not respond to texts timely and when she did she was not helpful. I also messaged her prior to the trip asking if there were fans, pack and plays and high chairs at the house. She said no. Got there and found all of the above in the house for use. Traveling with 12 people- including 6 kids it would have been nice to not have to bring all that extra stuff along. The huge issue we had was a safety concern. The 2nd night there the upstairs bedrooms lost power. We found the breaker box and there was water leaking INTO the electrical box and fried the fuses. When we contacted her and she finally responded about this she was not helpfil and rude about the whole situation. She refused to come to the house to look at things because "I'm not an electrician what am I going to do". When I raised the concern of this being an emergent situation she said "then I'm telling you to leave. Deadwood has hotels." Brent actually gave suggestions and checked in on us the next day. Never head from Budi again the whole trip.

Relaxing stay

The rental was absolutely perfect for our family of seven! Everyone had plenty of room and the cabin was fully stocked with everything we needed, or forgot!! We were close to the trails for UTV riding and golf! Would definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone! Thanks for making our stay so comfortable!!!

Great Home for Families

We stayed at Grand View Lodge with two families of adults and kids and the home was amazing for a latge family trip. Nice kitchen, fully stocked with utensils, plates, etc. So many towels for showers and the large hot tub. Washer/dryer are HUGE, which was great for mid-trip laundry.The bedrooms are spacious and many areas for people to hang out. Very clean and well organized home. We had deer that came up to the home each morning and roads were quiet to go on walks around the area and explore.Management company is very responsive and detailed with information. The home does kot have Wifi, but did have a Verizon hot spot that we could use. We were outside a lot, so it was a great excuse to get kids off technology and play games or be outdoors.

Grand Lookout Lodge Review

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second time using Blackwills Adventure Lodging and they are wonderful. Except.... this time our rental was not up to the quality that we had previous experienced. Here's a list of issues:1. The grade up to the house is extemely steep. You need ot warn anyone that is hauling UTV's that the grade is impassable.2. The number for the house was buried in grass. We arrived in the dark and it took us an hour to find the house.3. The refrigerator froze all food that was halfway back.4. None of the remotes worked. Had to change batteries in all of them.5. 2 out of the 4 TV's did not work.6. Fireplace did not work7. Chairs around the dining room table are in really bad condition. Thought we were going to lose some peole to the floor.8. Carpet in the bedroom as major wrinkles in it. Trip hazard.9. Deck railing needs to be replaced. It is rotted in several areas.

Friends and trail riding

The location was perfect for trail riding. We trailered four side by sides and found room to park everything at the property. The set up of the house was perfect for our group. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Some minor issues with the house. Broken door handle, not near enough chairs out on the decks and most of the chairs there were in disrepair. Not enough trash bags, paper towels, etc. These issues can all easily be fixed though. We all enjoyed our trip and would return.

Great place for family

The house was wonderful…air conditioning was very helpful! It was a very hot weekend…kids loved the Xbox , pool table and hot tub…played cards and baked cookies…brought our telescope and the view of the stars from the deck was amazing…good memories for sure! Thanks for sharing your home!

Great proximity to downtown Deadwood and surrounding scenic attractions. Lots of room to spread out even for 9 men with motorcycle gear. Parking for two trucks and trailers with room to pull in with 9 large motorcycles. There are som slight rough edges to the house, but nothing that would stop me from coming back. Great communications from the property manager.

Great for family

Overall good value. Nice kitchen with plenty’s of dishes, pots/pans for our group of 10. Cleanliness less than expected - visible debris on floors and carpet. Did not use hot tub due to debris.
