Excellent accommodation and perfect location

Quiet, hidden gem and perfect place for 2. Setting is idyllic. On the doorstep: rural and raw Tuscany with the usual tourist gems not fr if you really want them. Will be back!

Nice apartment in fantastic location

The apartment was modestly furnished but very cozy. The location is stunning, perfect for those seeking peace and relaxation. The pool is enormous, and there are plenty of sun umbrellas and loungers for all guests. The hosts are very helpful and friendly.

Lovely rustic Tuscan apartment

Lovely rustic well equipped apartment with large terrace and fantastic views across to the hill town of Seggiano. Shared garden and pool area but space is quiet and was never crowded. Pool is large and terrific for lane swimming as well as cooling off. Only a short drive to Montalcino and Montepulciano. We really loved our stay!

Our Honeymoon September 2009

Jutta and I arrived at Agriturismo Castagnatello on the last leg of our 3 week honeymoon tour of Italy and were completely delighted with our choice. The appartment was gorgeous. Spotlessly clean, beautifully presented and well equipped. The outdoor 1st floor terrace was huge and gave us view on both sides to the villages nearby. The pool was stunning and the sunsets at the end of the pool have to be seen. Nathan and Gaia gave us a very warm welcome and some excellant advice on what to do and where to go. If you're there on September 9th there is the centuries old Horse Race around the town green oval in Castell del Piano. This is a must!! Agriturismo Castagnatello was the perfect location for a calm relaxing end to a long drive from the UK (Brighton), through France and via Florence and Rome. The surrounding countryside is totally Tuscan. My gorgeous bride Jutta and I had the most wonderful time at this "Perfect" accommodation and would recommend it to our fussiest friends in total and complete confidence. Thanks Nathan and Gaia, we will be back!!!! Tim (Still madly in love)and Jutta (still amazingly gorgeous).

Traumhafter Ort

Diese Ferienunterkunft ist großartig für Menschen die dem Alltag entfliehen und Ruhe genießen wollen. Unsere Unterkunft war weder mit Fernseher, Radio, Backofen oder Geschirrspüler ausgestattet und es war genauso wie wir es haben wollten. Wir haben es so sehr genossen diese traumhafte Umgebung in uns aufzusaugen. Das wenige Geschirr welches man zu zweit verwendet lässt sich auch gut mit der Hand abspülen. Achtung: Dies bezieht sich natürlich nur auf die Ferienwohnung die wir bezogen hatten!Die Unterkünfte sind sicherlich unterschiedlich eingerichtet. Für uns war es perfekt!Der Gastgeber Ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend.Weiterhin sind die Außenanlagen sehr gepflegt und der Pool bietet einen sehr schönen Ausblick in sämtliche Richtungen und lädt zur absoluten Entspannung ein.Es war ein traumhafter Urlaub.Ich muss allerdings dazu anmerken, dass unsere Erfahrungen darauf beruhen, dass wir das gesamte Anwesen für uns alleine hatten und zu dem Zeitpunkt keine weiteren Feriengäste vor Ort waren.Vielen herzlichen Dank, Nathan.Es war wunderschön!

Alles wie beschrieben, sehr schön gelegen, ruhig. Guter Ausgangspunkt um die südliche Toskana zu erkunden. Ein Insektenschutz an der Wohnungstür wäre nicht schlecht.

séjour agréable dans un lieu agréable

repos, belle piscine, peu fréquentée, pas de bruit. les commerces bien surtout à Castel del Piano, en revanche, pas de restaurants avec la bonne cuisine italienne dont je mes souvenais lors de précédents séjours en Toscane. Très moyen et surprenant pour l'Italie dont la cuisine est si réputée. Heureusement que nous avons pu faire notre propre cuisine dans notre agréable location sur la belle terrasse.

Mooi complex met zicht op Seggiano.

Leuk appartement op de bovenste verdieping met 180 gr zicht op de bergen en het dal. Groot terras, degelijk ingericht, groot zwembad. Alles zeer verzorgd. Prima verblijf!

Perfect spot with great views

This was our second stay in the Quercia apartment at Cantagnatello Estates. The first was in 2018 and we returned in fall 2022 because of the proximity to a variety hilltowns that we had not explored the first time. You will wake up to beautiful views from the windows and deck. Nathan and Gaia are very responsive to inquiries - we had no electricity when we arrived (in the dark) due to a severe storm, and they had power restored within 20 minutes. Great restaurants nearby in Seggiano and Castel de Piano - suggestions are included in the literature in the apartment. It was a perfect home base for our daily excursions!

Wunderschön!

Das Ferienhaus Castagnatello mit den Ferienwohnungen ist ein sehr schön gelegenes und liebevoll gestaltetes Anwesen. Hier hat man die nötige Ruhe zum Entspannen. Unweit bieten sich herrliche Ausflüge nach Siena, dem höchsten Berg der Toskana, dem Monte Amiata und zur Heilquelle nach Saturnia an. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Relax and beautiful property

I highly recommend this place. The view is amazing, you are surrounded by mountains and Seggiano stands in front of you like a painting. The swimming pool add a lot of relaxation to our stay. The place was very well equipped and comfortable. If you're looking for nature, good foods and relaxation that's the place !

Amazing stay

Ruhig und landschaftlich einmalig schön

Wir haben uns bei Gaia und Nathan Libri besonders wohlgefühlt. Die Anlage liegt idyllisch und absolut ruhig mit einem wunderschönen Weitblick in die Landschaft mit Olivenbäumen und Weinbergen und auf das Städtchen Seggiano. Der große Pool ist umgeben von den umliegenden Bergen. Man kann dort stundenlang verweilen und entspannen. Die Familie Libri ist sehr sympathisch und nimmt sich richtig Zeit für ihre Gäste. Danke! Wir werden gerne wiederkommen.

Great place!

We spent one week in Castagnatello in july 2014 (Quercia). The place is amazing. Spacious, clean apartments are fully equipped. Large and clean swimming pool. Beautiful and well maintained grounds. It is a perfect base to visit Montalcino, Montepulciano and other small towns and villages. The owners are very nice and friendly people. Remember to try olive oil produced in Castagnatello, it is a must! I highly recommend this place.

Wunderschönes Castagnatello

Wir hatten zwei wunderschöne Wochen in diesem gepflegten Castello. Von der Terrasse aus ist der Blick, auf Seggiano und die Berge, jeden Morgen wieder eine nette Frühstücksbeigabe. Die Wohnung ist sehr sauber. Die Küche ist eher minimalistisch ausgestattet. Aber dieses kleine Manko wird durch den grossen Pool mit Wasserfall und der himmlischen Ruhe, sofort wieder vergessen. Unser besonderer Dank geht an Nathan, der für unsere Fragen immer ein offenes Ohr hatte und mit uns eine sehr lehrreiche Wein- und Olivenöl - Verköstigung durchführte. Wir können Castello Castagnatello zu 100% weiter empfehlen.

Very nice and family friendly country house

We enjoyed our holiday (couple with one child, 1 year) very much. The house is very new as you can see on the pictures of the homepage. There is a lot to see in the area of Seggiano by car. The owners are very kind and friendly. There is a little shop with olive oil of the trees around the house.

Wonderful holiday retreat

We really enjoyed our time in our apartment in Castagnello. It was comfortable and well equipped, and situated in a beautiful part of Tuscany, in a superb location with panoramic views. The complex is very well planned, with quite a large swimming pool and other facilities, like a laundry. The hosts were friendly and helpful and we spent a delightful two weeks there, either hiking in the woods or touring around the nearby towns and countryside. Some nights we cooked in the kitchen, other evenings we ate out. Every morning we had breakfast on the large terrace as the sun came up. Wonderful!

Wonderful location

I can highly reccommend this place. It's one of the most beautiful places in Italy I have ever seen. Quiet, comfortable and a good place to explore the beautiful surroundings. We will come again!

We live between Italy and the UK, were we both worked as scientist for about 10 years.
When our first son Alex was born we decided to settle in Tuscany... no regrets so far!

Castagnatello is a beautiful stone made estate. Incredible are also the countryside views: really stunning!
The location is also great: we are between the Val d'Orcia (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the Amiata mountain.
The countryside between the Amiata and the Val d'Orcia is undoubtedly one of the nicest in Tuscany. Last but not least we are just an hour away from the charming seaside.
