El Caprichio - (8p) with pool at Costa del Sol

Beautiful Setting

This is a wonderful house in an idyllic, quiet setting. The views are stunning and it's lovely to watch the birds, inc. vultures and eagles, soaring around the valley in front of you. The house has everything you need. Comfy beds, good showers and great air-conditioning. The pool area is perfect for relaxing and having a barbecue and the gardens are just lovely. It's like holidaying in the Hollywood Hills !! There's loads of places to visit nearby and we also did day trips to Ronda and Gibraltar. Can highly recommend this house for the perfect holiday.

PERFECT VIEWS - PERFECT STAY

What a fantastic house this is. Cared for down to the last detail. From bedroom to pool. From kitchen to terrace(s). And then that view. Due to the beautiful location, a car is indispensable, but driving here is not a punishment. Also very nice villages nearby with excellent facilities and good restaurants, but if you still want to leave...

Mes pires vacances

Dear We are sorry to hear that you had a bad experience in El Caprichio. It is very important to us that all of our clients have a peacefull and nice holiday. We have been in touch with the owner and you on the spot, but after several attempts, it seemd to be difficult to please you, eventhough our responisble always stayed polite and tried to solve the things that were an issue to you. El Caprichio is a house in the middle of nature. Animals around are common. There were indeed 6 wild cats around the house, probably because previous tenants fed them, so they came back. We caught the cats and removed them. Every year a company comes to treat against wasps. Since the house is in the middle of the countryside, you will always have some wasps that come drink from the pool.. We will, nevertheless ask the company to come back in July. We are sorry that this one door didn’t close properly. Since you were only 2 people and a baby, we had fully prepared 2 double bedrooms inside the house and a cot for the baby. We know there was an issue with the sandy water. We called the president of the community and due to a leak in the pipes, there were repairs that caused the sandy water. Our responsible went up immediately and switched the water to our well, so you had clear water. As mentioned before, almost everything that you were unhappy about, has been solved on the spot. Nevertheless we are so sorry to hear that the villa was not to your liking. Best wishes, Camille Julien

A view imprinted on our minds

Well, it was just perfect. We loved every moment, the feel and comfort. The house is like a chalet or a beach house but in the mountains with a view that takes your breath away from sunrise to sunset. The garden, pool and outside dining area are lovely, the grounds felt very safe for a 4 and 6 year old (as long as they can swim, but even then the pool is set away from the house down some steps). The owners were charming and the general ease of the house made it easy to settle into. The location is perfect, close to Gaucin and Jimena de la Frontera as well as the coast. We did have some uninvited guests in the form of two black cats which belong to a neighbouring farm. Also the water which in late summer when the well is dry, comes from the local mains and smells a little like spinach, but we coped happily enough. Will definitely be returning. The log burner and surrounding countryside would make this a lovely couples retreat in Spring, Autumn and indeed winter as well as summer.
