I really enjoyed our week at the Blue Beach House in Montecito! The house was exceptionally well situated, right on the beach but not in the main trafficked areas. I loved how I could just grab a seat on the couch, open the window, and the waves hitting the sand were so near! The sound was soothing; and there was virtually nothing else from civilization nearby. Every night I marveled how nice it was to fall asleep to the gentle, sometimes a bit more boisterous waves on the beach. We definitely took advantage of walking on the sand right from the house! The house itself is a bit rustic, eclectically decorated in a comfy beach style. Nothing ostentatious, and there was a bit of ocean air must in the lower rooms. The owners and other guests obviously use it frequently, as it is stocked with every staple, appliance, beach toy, and furnishing you could want. When it got cold-ish, we fired up the stove. When it was warm…we open the window to the beach. Perfect!Don’t let a little rust on the side of the fridge, or older furniture distract you from this gem of a location. Certainly you could go fancier if that’s your thing, but we thoroughly enjoyed this perfectly comfy little hideaway.
