We had an amazing stay at Casa do Vimieiro. Very traditional house with all facilities we needed. The pool and views were outstanding! A perfect way to relax. Susana was a great host, she helped organise and book a personalised day trip for us, which ticked all the sightseeing, and food & wine, experience boxes. Defo reccommend. Location is great to explore around the area, and never too far from supermarkets and lovely little villages/towns.

The location and the views are lovely. The outside space was great especially the pool and the BBQ. The beds were very comfortable and it is very peaceful. Too improve the overall experience some areas could do with a bit of updating-the kitchen and the bathrooms felt a bit unloved and only providing 4 loungers for up to 7 guests is not sufficient.

Das Haus ist leider in die Jahre gekommen. Wahrscheinlich war es mal sehr schön dort und es wurde auf Ambiente geachtet. Dem ist jetzt nicht mehr so. Überall macht sich in Nasszellen und im Pool Schimmel breit, die Liegen sind alle gebrochen und mit Matten abgedeckt, was eine hohe Unfallgefahr mit sich bringt, wenn man es-wie wir-nicht weiß. Das Haus soll für sieben Personen ausgelegt sein, es gibt aber nur vier Sonnenliegen und einen Campingesstisch auf der Terrasse, abgesehen von einem Tisch in der Küche, an dem auch nur vier Hocker und zwei Stühle stehen. Besteck ist ebenfalls dürftig vorhanden. In einem Zimmer befindet sich gar kein Kleiderschrank, in einem anderen einer mit nem IKEA Hängeregal, was auch schon bessere Zeiten hatte. Das zweite Bad befindet sich im Keller und ist nur sinnvoll für den Gang vom Pool zur Toilette, ansonsten viel zu weit weg von den Schlafräumen im 1.OG.Um die Poolreinigung muß man sich selber kümmern, sei es Chlortabletten nachfüllen, den Roboter ein-/aussetzen und reinigen oder groben Schmutz mit dem Netz rausfischen. Die Gastgeberin selber hat sich nicht blicken lassen und war nur per whattsapp oder telefonisch zu erreichen. Es wurde zwar immer auf Anfragen reagiert, aber lösen mußte man etwaige Probleme selber. Fazit: die Ausstattung und der „Service“ berechtigen in keinster Weise den gezahlten Preis. Das haben wir schon weitaus besser angetroffen!Für jeden, der trotzdem hinfahren möchte: Mückennetze mitbringen, kleines Auto!
Die Außenanlage ist wirklich schön, das Mobiliar gerade zweckmäßig und die Benutzung des Grills nicht zu empfehlen

Der Schimmel zieht sich durch jede Fuge in der Dusche, der Duschvorhang war davon nicht ausgenommen
Das war noch eine der „besseren“ Liegen. Kommentar der Vermieterin: mit den Auflagen geht’s doch🤦🏻‍♀️

Quiet, relaxing, spacious

Fantastic communication with the host who was super responsive. The house is set in a quiet village but close to all you need after a short drive. But your car will need to stay in the street. The garage is in a street so narrow our car would not fit. The house is well equipped but could do with a bigger and more stable outdoor dining table.We loved the pool, the proximity to the river, the calm and quiet village. This all made for a very relaxing holiday. Make sure you bring mosquito repellent!

Nous avons beaucoup aimé notre expérience lors de notre séjour. C’est une vieille maison bien aménagée. Une vue splendide les enfants ont adorés la piscine. La maison sent un peu l’humidité. Ce serait bien de laisser plus de ventilateurs efficaces ou de l’air climatisée. Les lits en-haut sont assez durs. Merci pour le séjour en montagne avec la belle vue sur le Douro

Maison tranquille en campagne

Notre séjour était bien, mais nous avons eu un problème avec l’eau de la maison (pas d’eau du tout) qui a été résolu le 2e soir. La communication n’était pas parfaite au début, mieux à la fin. Si vous êtes frileux, apportez vous des pantoufles et une petite laine, la maison est froide et humide. Emplacement tranquille, si vous aimez visiter des vignobles c’est bien sinon les attraits sont à un certain temps en voiture de la maison.

A week in the Douro valley

We spent a lovely week at Casa do Vimieiro. We were 2 couples, and the house was spacious comfortable, and clean. Susana responded to queries very promptly. The countryside is beautiful. My only caution is that driving in the area is not for the faint of heart. Also, people with mobility issues should avoid the house as there are many stairs and uneven steps going into the property. Finding the best route to the house is a challenge. The GPS we used took us on a harrowing ride. We later found better routes. You will need a car to go anywhere, the smaller the car, the better.

maison piscine et jardin sont agréables. Au niveau des éclairages un sur 2 fonctionnes. L'eau chaude c'est aléatoire Par contre si vous avez une voiture plus large que un Captur (Renault) c'est impossible d'utiliser l'accès au garage rue trop étroite le garage qui est simplement pour une voiture. Même pour un Captur vous aurez besoin d'une autre personne pour vous guider Pour véhicule et simplement un plus large ou un second véhicule c'est chez un voisin en bordure de route sans pouvoir manœuvrer. Tout en sachant que vous aurez besoin d'un véhicule pour tous les déplacements.. je déconseille donc cette location appréciation générale 1

Beautiful garden with Valley views!

The house has a beautiful location overviewing the Douro valley. In my opinion the strongest asset is the beautiful garden with barbecue, swimming pool and three terraces, so you can at any time of day enjoy some shadow and the views. The attention of Susana and Jorge is impeccable - thank you!

Adoramos e os miúdos também! A piscina e o jardim circundante proporcionam excelentes momentos de lazer. A casa tinha tudo o que era necessário para a preparação das nossas refeições. A Susana esteve sempre disponível e prestável para qualquer situação.

Die Vermieterin ist sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich und hat uns tolle Ausflugstipps gegeben. Man sollte mit genügend Verpflegung anreisen, wenn man nicht ständig autofahren möchte. Der Parkplatz am Haus ist für große Autos nicht so gut geeignet.

Nettes landestypischen Haus am Douro

Das Haus liegt in einer Streusiedlung am Douro, man ist auf das Auto angewiesen. Die Ausstattung ist gut, sehr urig eingerichtet. Garten und Pool sind sehr schön. Viel Stauraum in den Schlafzimnern. Ausreichend Küchengeräte vorhanden.

Super accueil de susana qui est vraiment aux petits soins avec ses hôtes. Maison extraordinaire. Pour aller sur porto le train est très facile et vraiment pas cher (18 eur pour 5 personnes aller retour) . Susana est toujours disponible pour le moindre petit problème, une personne vraiment charmante , je conseille vraiment cette location , seul point moins positif c'est la distance avec les différentes visites sympa. Mais la vue reste vraiment très belle .

Nous avons passé une semaine de vacances en famille (2 adultes et 3 ados), la maison est très bien dans le style traditionnel du Portugal, il y a une piscine très agréable et une très belle vue des chambres à l'étage. Susana est très disponible pour des conseils de visites, restaurant et elle parle français :-) le seul inconvénient est l'accès au garage qui n'est pas évident (avec un Kadjar), obligé de rabattre les rétroviseurs et de faire des manœuvres. Autrement il faut se garer un peu plus loin sur le bord de la route.

A very relaxing and enjoyable place.

This house was great. It was a perfect size for two couples (maybe even a bit too big). Jorge was super nice and answered all of our questions quickly. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Eu e o meu marido não podíamos deixar passar a nossa estadia sem fazer um grande elogio e um grande OBRIGADO, à Susana, a proprietária do imóvel que nos encheu de miminhos, pois foi local eleito para passarmos a nossa lua de mel e podemos dizer que foi perfeita :) Fizemos a escolha certa, um lugar maravilhoso em que temos o privilégio de ver o Rio Douro da janela, onde somos absorvidos por uma paz e uma tranquilidade imensa. No entanto, apesar deste sossego estamos ao mesmo tempo tão perto da cidade, temos mesmo perto supermercados, bombas de gasolina, pastelaria de fabrico próprio, bancos, cafés, restaurantes, tanta coisa. Todos os espaços à volta e se aumentamos para um raio de 50KM temos oportunidade de visitar tantos locais lindos e posso partilhar algo que adoramos e que é super simples...conseguimos ver um esquilo que colheu uma fruta de uma árvore e ainda nos deixou tirar uma foto...o máximo. Recomendamos vivamente o alojamento, para descansar, visitar locais inigualáveis e usufruir da propriedade pois a casa está muito gira, tem áreas muito generosas, todo o conforto e o jardim com churrasco e uma piscina magnifica. O nosso agradecimento também à D. Manuela que é giríssima e com muito carinho nos regava o jardim e limpava a piscina. Muito obrigada. Por fim à Susana que é uma querida e que foi incansável, que nos encheu de mimos e nos proporcionou uma lua de mel perfeita, que jamais iremos esquecer. Muito obrigada TOP 10 :)

House with 3 bedrooms plus a division with sofa bed for two people and baby bed ideal for a family. The pool is private as well as the garden surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees. In this property you can have your holidays in maximum tranquility and privacy. The house is situated 300 meters from the river Douro immersed in unesco heritage. You can be having your breakfast in the room with stunning views of the river and watching the cruises go by in celebration.
Here it is in tranquility, but at one hour is Porto, Guimaraes, Régua Amarante, beautiful cities to know and appreciate the best ha in Portugal, landscapes and gastronomy.
Come visit us and you will love it, we will welcome you with a good Douro wine, of course Vestiges of the history of Portugal are 10 km with well preserved Roman ruins. The architecture of a genius (Siza Vieira, Prize Pritzker) is also 10km (Marco de Canaveses church)
