Nice and secluded, great view

Lots of communication, easy check in. Quiet, beautiful views. Comfortable, great for a couple, slept really well on the king bed. We enjoyed Happy the friendly dog’s visits! Would definitely come back.

Morning coffee with a view

We enjoyed the peace and quiet after full days of activity. The views from the property are beautiful, whether you prefer the open vista with a view of the hills and ocean or the feeling of being in the forest with ferns, and an owl in the evening from the back porch.The bed is VERY comfortable, important after a busy day. The kitchen has all the basic equipment and then some. We enyoyed pour overs even though we forgot everything for coffee (except the coffee).

Comfortable Stay Above Santa Cruz

Well-appointed home with an overlook of Santa Cruz and the ocean on a clear day. Worth the drive up the hill to the property for a little isolation and relaxation. The residence is a 2nd-story flat with a soft memory foam king bed. The kitchen has most everything needed for cooking, coffee, and tea. It was a pleasant stay and the host is interested in keeping the place in order.

Private Cottage

The cottage was over a mile off road giving us a secluded but peaceful feel. In reality the freeway & suburbs were close. We had an ocean view. The accommodations were super clean & well furnished. It was stocked with all the comforts of home. I highly recommend.

Secluded, beautiful, and only minutes from the city

This place was remarkable. I’ve never seen anything like it. It is as secluded as I can ever imagine, however, you’re only a few minutes away from the beach. Magical forest is Walking distance in nearly any direction. Easy access to the freeway, only minutes from the heart of Santa Cruz, and absolutely secure and safe.

Santa Cruz in the trees

We had an amazing stay here up in the trees. The unit was clean, stocked with towels and the check in was easy. Views from both decks were beautiful and relaxing, we will definitely be returning!

Great space, great location

I go to Santa Cruz every year to visit my son and daughter who live nearby. This house was in a beautiful, private location only 15 minutes from town. House has everything you need, managed well and available if you need them. I’d absolutely go back!

Elegant and comfortable hillside retreat

My husband and I spent the weekend enjoying trees, tranquility, and ocean air while staying in this lovely rental. The hosts were welcoming and communicative. The Shakespeare festival, downtown Santa Cruz, and Henry Cowell state park were the other ingredients in a fabulous getaway weekend.

Peaceful and serene

We loved the atmosphere and surroundings of the trees and wildlife. We enjoyed watching the birds and saw owls. The house has everything you need. We want to come back and stay longer.

Tranquil, relaxing, cozy—perfect!

Wonderful location up above Santa Cruz, looking out to the ocean. Provided gorgeous sunset vistas and sunrises. Even the fog banks rolling in up through the treetops were beautiful! House was well stocked with utensils and cookware. Very comfortable bed. All in all, a peaceful respite from this crazy world. Thank you for sharing!

Peaceful coastal stay

Our overall trip to Santa Cruz was one for the books, and our stay up in the mountains was quite pleasant. Nice and close to town, ocean views from the porch, and tons of wildlife. Easy peasy stay, definitely recommend.

A Stay with a View

Very comfortable place for us. It had a view of Monterey Bay in the distance. Isolated in the hills but so close to town. Quite enjoyable.

Exactly what we wanted

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful home. Had really great views. Perfect location being just outside of the city with much to do! Would definitely stay again and recommend to others. Tom was very responsive to any questions. "Buddy" the next door dog was also great plus when he came to visit.

Happy made our stay even better. Everyday she/he would bring us a toy. What a delight. Of course the location was perfect for us. We awoke to seeing a family of deer. Very special moment.

Lovely getaway in Santa Cruz

My spouse and I absolutely loved staying here. Everything is as pictured, and the home is in a beautiful location in the hills just outside Santa Cruz. It is extremely peaceful and a great place to relax during your stay in the Santa Cruz area. We loved the convenience of the kitchen (it was great to have a fridge on-site) and the space was very clean and comfortable. We also loved seeing the gentle neighbor dog who occasionally visits -- he is big, but very friendly and sweet! We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Tom's place.

What a relaxing blast

What a beautiful secluded location!! Our main purpose was to enjoy a relaxing three days together and we were not disappointed at all! The home was clean, comfortable, and cozy. We loved the decks off the front and the master bedroom including the views from both. The front had an incredible view of the ocean and downtown of Santa Cruz but was mostly enjoyed in the evenings looking at the constellations. The back deck off of the master bedroom made you feel you were in the middle of nowhere surrounded by trees and nature. It was amazing how you could feel you’re in the middle of nowhere yet be in downtown Santa Cruz in less than 10 minutes. We couldn’t have asked for anything more! Thanks for everything!
