Comfortable but dark

The unit what is comfortable in a fairly good location. A major downside is that it’s a former office converted into a living space. As a result the layout was kind of strange and very few windows and minimal natural light. Two of the bedrooms were quite small and the bathrooms were tiny. The mattresses were also extremely firm. There were also all panels hell water damage spots that need addressing. It’s a good value place that provides you a good safe place to sleep, but not comfortable enough to hang out for an extended stay. I’d rank it about a 3.5.

Good location in Porto but stressful check-in

We were visiting Portugal for the first time and going to Porto after spending a few days in the Algarve. After researching that driving & parking in Porto is difficult we chose this property for its location in the city center & because it offered parking on site. We did not receive instructions for check in until the day we were to check in- mid morning. We had been driving all day & arrived in Porto just as it was getting dark. The street is one way & very busy. There was no parking available on the street so we had to drive around until finally a 15 min max spot became available only to find out there was no key in the lock box as instructed. We tried contacting the property manager several times for over an hour with no success. At this point we had to find parking & decided to see if there were other hotels in the area with vacancies. We all thought we had been had. We were fortunate that at one of the hotels we went to, the desk clerk hearing of our circumstances, called the property manager from the hotel phone & what do u know - he finally answered! By the time he met us with the key and we parked and dropped off our bags, most of the restaurants in the area were closed. Talk about a stressful evening - and no apology. Although no contact from the manager when we were frantic we did receive a link about paying additional tax on the property which after the check in fiasco was never again mentioned. The property is in a good location and was clean but bedroom walls could use a fresh coat of paint or cleaning and having a small table or shelf in bathrooms for toiletries would be nice rather than having to put them on the floor.

Great location, nice space but…

The place was as advertised. It was a 20 minute walk to historic downtown. Parking great once you figured how to get in. Main notes.. better check-in instructions would be good. Stove did not work and hot water was limited for showers. Overall. It worked for us. Just need better checkin instructions.

Great apartment.

We had a flawless stay here in Porto. This place is huge and had plenty of room for our family. I would highly recommend a stay here. Great location.

Disappointing

Locating the apartment and garage were not easy. The property is described as luxurious but it isn’t. The description also mentions it is located in the heart of the city. It is a good 20 minute walk to the center attractions. The neighborhood is quiet and there are only a few options nearby. The apartment has no windows, has mold throughout. It’s impossible to use any closet space due to the mold odor. The beds are very uncomfortable. The door handles just come off. Not having a washing machine is really inconvenient. Artificial plant spaces and lighting are used to attract guests but the place is actually poorly maintained and furniture/furnishings are very basic. We do not recommend it!

Lovely House

We had a lovely time here! Great location. Very walkable. Cool and dark bedrooms that felt private and lots of space. The only thing was there were no instructions on how to access the parking and that was very confusing, but the parking was easy after given instructions on how to open the garage door. Highly recommend this rental!

Les seuls points positifs de cet appartement sont la décoration et la situation par rapport au centre-ville. Par contre le descriptif ne correspond pas tout à fait à la réalité. Les très belles photos datent certainement de plusieurs années. Pas de fenêtres donc pas d’aération possible car il est semi enterré d’où une humidité permanente. Impossible de faire sécher les serviettes de toilettes. Moisissures dans les salles de bain et sur le bas des murs cachées par des plaques qui se décollent. Installations électriques dangereuses dans une salle de bain et dans une chambre. Oreillers sales, robinetterie défaillante, portes qui ne ferment pas, ustensiles de cuisine insuffisants, pas de four… Très bruyant. Superbe vue au niveau des jambes des passants. Pas de contact avec le loueur.

Review with plus and minus points

The apartment itself in general looks good and neat. But there were some minus points; which is the doors handle in 2 bedrooms and toilet in the living room was broken. The doors in those bedrooms and the toilet also cannot be closed. The water kettle wasn't functional as it should, we had to move to other switch continuesly to get it operated. Keep in mind to keep the stove clean after using it, otherwise it will go on lock. For shower we also need to time it like 10 minutes per person, cause then the water turned cold. The pillows was not comfy, they do have extra pillows in the closet but it was quite dirty so we don't want to use it. Still we do have some plus points; that is the airco works very good in all bedrooms also in the living room. So with the hot weather outside, it's very convenient to stay inside. The sofa also comfy and the dining room is also nice. Each room has their own bathroom which was also convenient, and there were closet in each room to store your clothes as well. Which was very nice, if you stay like a week there. Overal it was okay to stay there and what we do like the most is the location cause it's near to supermarkt, bus stop, and lots of good local restaurants.

Disappointing experince

We are airline employees who travel a great deal all over the world and we also own VRBO properties in the USA. We were very disappointed in this property. We arrived in Porto at 4PM, with a 3PM check-in time. We could not find the property because the address numbers were missing from the building. We finally found the location by other nearby addresses. No keys were in the lockbox because the cleaning crew was still at work and would not be done until 5PM. All communication was by text because no person would answer the phone number provided. Once we entered we found scant or no paper products (little toilet paper and no paper towels). The light fixture string of lights in the front bath was laying across the mirror having fallen. The front bath had mold on the ceiling, the second bath had mold on the floor near the shower. When we prepared for bed we found only a fitted sheet and coverlet but no top sheet for sanitation on the beds. We located additional sheets in a closet and remade the beds. The sink stopper in bath #2 did not work. The water heater was small and required staggering showers for 4 people to have hot showers. Lastly the so-called city tax was demanded in cash instead of thru VRBO and was miscalculated until we pointed out the mistake. It was very suspicious to pay "taxes" in cash without a receipt. We cannot recommend this property and I would not recommend renting any property thru this agency Hostwise.

Cher, mauvais état et mauvais service

Pour rester le plus objectif : les +: appartement bien situé qui permet de rejoindre le centre historique et visiter Porto à pied. Appartement grand. Les -: rien de luxueux pour cet entresol sombre, humide et bruyant, qu'il est impossible d'aérer, coincé entre une rue très passante et un parking. L'appartement avait dû être joli à l'origine mais il n'a beneficié d'aucun entretien visiblement depuis l'origine : murs très sales et dégradés, aucune poignée de porte en état, moisissures avancées. Bref, ne pas faire confiance aux photos qui datent vraisemblablement de plusieurs années. La communication avec l'entreprise qui gère a été plus que décevante : nous n'avons pas pû accéder au parking car la télécommande était cassée. Il a fallu attendre plus de 24h pour qu'on nous en fournisse une et bien sûr aucune solution n'a été proposée pour les problèmes de stationnement et les frais supplémentaires générés par ce désagrément. Bref: à fuir absolument, c'est une arnaque.

Buena elección para alojarte en Oporto

Las imágenes son absolutamente fieles a la realidad, la ubicación es perfecta para conocer andando Oporto, dejas el coche en el garaje y te olvidas. Si quieres comer o cenar en el apartamento hay a 2' un supermercado abierto incluso los domingos, y el menaje está perfecto (nuevo y limpio, parece que lo estrenas). La zona es tranquila, prácticamente no hay ruido excepto el paso de los vehículos por la calle, que al ser empedrada se oye más, pero nada que moleste en exceso. En resumen, muy buena elección.

Large, comfortable, new unit

Our group of 3 couples enjoyed this lovely apartment very much. It was our base of operations in Porto. Attached and secure garage was great to have. Large dining table. Very comfortable living room. Market, laundromat, nice restaurant, etc. a short walk away. The only negatives were the front room had some traffic noise, and there is no dishwasher or clothes washer/dryer.

excellent experience

The property is excellent and exactly as shown in the pictures. It is decorated with beautiful taste. The owner really took advantage of all the spaces in the apartment and adapted the apartment with three bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and one extra half bath. Both, Renato and Joanna were extremely quick at responding my messages which was a relief. The apartment is very well located and about 15-20 minute walk to the city center. We were very lucky to become acquainted with the area very quickly (something it usually takes days), so we found supermarkets, cafes, restaurants in the nearby streets. The wifi worked perfectly well and there is a TV in the living room. There is also a nice dining table should you wish to dine in the apartment (which by the way is well equipped). We were 5 adults and one baby and Renato was kind enough to provide a crib for my grandson. I would definitely recommend this property and without doubt, would stay here again for my next visit to this magical city.

The property had parking which was critical as all on street parking has self pay. Working with property manager was easy- used what's app to communicate as we didn't have cell service. Each bedroom had a bathroom for privacy and common space comfortable. Suggestions of restaurants and other was great and very enjoyable. We were able to walk to downtown and other areas. Recommend this property.

Excellent Stay in Porto!

This apartment was perfect for our four nights in Porto. We were 2 adult couples and had plenty of room with really comfortable beds and modern bathrooms. This apartment is an easy 15 minute walk to the major sites. Extra bonus: on site private garage!!

Great stay in Porto

The property managers were fantastic! The apartment is extremely clean and nicely decorated. My only complaints are that the beds are rock hard and the kitchen is not very functional for wven basic cooking. It was a very nice place to relax after busy days in Porto.
