Perfect get away

We had a wonderful little getaway. The area is beautiful the cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed. Wally and his Daughter Meg are wonderful hosts. Such a pretty spot we hope to have the time to get back there again soon

Very Private

We only were able to stay one night. Our grandson loved the sand toys. Very clean and well equipped.

Misleading

We stayed in the upper cabin which is in between the owners home and his mother in laws home. Felt watched by the owner our entire stay. Shared the beach front (which is basically a swamp with lots of weeds) with 2 parents and their little kids. There is no bathroom in the cabin so you’re only choice is to use the out house which is up a steep hill behind the cabin or walk to the co-ed washrooms which is past the owners home than past a barn. Had a weird stay to say the least, won’t be back.

The owners of Ferguson Lake Cabins do not “watch” or monitor the activities of our guests as we have many other constructive tasks to attend to during the day. Our VRBO property description does indicate we live on site and we do touch base with our guests from time to time to ensure all is well and that their needs are being met. Our posted cabin guidelines ask that issues be brought forward immediately so we can remedy them. We also asked – no concerns were mentioned. Our VRBO description also specifically indicates that the washroom for the cabin is in a separate building. The outhouse is only for winter use when the washrooms are shut down. In response to the ongoing Covid crisis, we indicate to our guests that a portion of the washroom building is solely dedicated to their cabin to maximize safety. In addition we have instituted a minimum 3 day vacancy between bookings as a further precaution. For over 60 years we have a history of receiving families and adult groups who enjoy the beach and swim for hours. There are weeds around the perimeter of our sandy beach and swimming area as our photos show - it’s a natural lake not a sanitized swimming pool. Our 5 star ratings across multiple rental and review platforms (Airbnb SuperHost status) attest to the continued satisfaction of our guests with what we provide and how we offer it.

Upper cabin 3 night rental

Our family stayed with Wally on their beautiful property at Lake Ferguson in June. As well as being fantastic and accommodating hosts their cabin was fully stocked inside and we were never without. Since making the booking communication was clear and we never ran into any troubles. Beautiful property very serene and tranquil. Thank you!

A beautiful, calm and serene stay!

Wally and Sandra were amazing, kind, and very friendly hosts! Super accommodating too, they were in contact with us during our trip making sure we were taken care of. The property was beautiful, clean, calm and serene. My boyfriend and I highly enjoyed our stay here, we didn't want to leave! There was so much to do on the property and so many things to do around the area. We were never bored! We also had wonderful weather during the trip! We ended up leaving the day before a big storm hit the Calabogie/Renfrew area during the Ottawa-Gatineau tornado. Hope everything is okay up there and everyone is doing well! All in all, It was a wonderful stay, and we can't wait to return to Ferguson Lake Cabins for our next cottage trip. :)

Sandy the host was very sweet but I would not rent the cottage again.

The property was nice but had no running water or bathroom facilities. I felt $302 for 2 night was excessive for a rustic cottage.

We are sorry the cabin was not everything you thought it might be. To be accurate, "the property" does have running water and bathroom and shower facilities, in a separate washroom building, as per the property description of the listing. We have now added that the cabin itself does not have running water to eliminate confusion.

We grew up in the local area, worked in Ottawa, and are now semi-retired and are continuing to operate the seasonal cabins located on Ferguson Lake. We and a parent live in 2 houses also located on the property.

The property has been owned by several generations of our family since the early 1900's. The cabins were built in the 1950's. Some of our clients from the US and Canada have family members staying with us over a 50 year period. We have visited, vacationed and worked here as children and adults are now continuing the tradition of sharing our part of the lake.
