Fantastic time at Mauna Lani - we used our stay to 'beach' and explore the northern end of the Island. This house is REALLY well equipped with beach and street toys - no need to buy or rent. Very well thought out offering.

Great house - especially for families

Wonderful location. Well-stocked with all the things you need - wagon, boogie boards, floaties and sand toys. They even have a monitor for our kids room. Nice, quiet location. The mauna lani beach club is amazing too.

2022 Big Island Golf Trip

House is centrally located to numerous outstanding golf courses. We played three courses in four days, and had a great time! Plenty of room at the house, well stocked with the basics, and tons of beach gear to borrow!

Plenty of room

We enjoyed a family reunion at this wonder house. Five adults and 4 children and there was lots of privacy, with 2 master suites and 2 other bedrooms, all big and beautifully furnished. Very big kitchen with everything one needs for cooking, plus a great bbq grill right on the lanai. Kids had a blast going to the pool just a few steps away. Our vacation was wonderful and we will certainly recommend this home to others. We will be back!

Great Place to Land

We were traveling with 6 adults (3 couples) and two children. The set up was great! The layout of the bedrooms was great. The kids getting up didn't wake up everyone. The Beach Club was a great place for everyone. The young kids had a low wave shoreline. The adults could snorkel.

Ohana treasure and sand castle villa

We came with all 19 of us, children and grandchildren, and booked two houses. They are the same floor plan, very family friendly! They are clean and well stocked-port a crib, high chair, toiletries, spices and cookware! The sand castle villa even has a motorized spit for the grill to roast pineapple (it was delicious!) We realized on our first day, a Sunday, that the washing machine in one of the homes wasn’t working, so I texted the management company and they sent someone out that day. When they said the washer couldn’t be fixed, they offered us the use of an empty property until it could be replaced. They came out and replaced it the next day! They responded quickly to every question or request. The grounds are beautiful, the pools are nice, and the mauna lani beach club is perfect for the little kids, and awesome for snorkelers! We saw sharks, eels, octopus…honestly some of the best and easiest snorkeling I’ve done in Hawaii! And for the older kids, Hapuna beach is just a few minutes away, great for boogie boarding, body surfing, and jumping in the waves! Close to shopping and restaurants, far from the noise and crowds of downtown! We loved our stay and can’t wait to book again!

B plus vacation.

Great place. Location a little isolated from lots of other places but very nice if you don’t want to travel to southern part of the island. Distance to anywhere outside the immediate village was at least 30 minutes. One must understand this is the BIG island. Shortcomings: snorkel gear was either broken or is disarray and except for one adult set was basically unusable. When alerted, the property manager did bring one new adult set and two sets for small children. Didn’t really help us much as we had 8 adults and 2 teens, both of whom were larger than some adults. The bicycles had flat tires except for one. When alerted, the property manager came and pumped up the tires of the one good bike, leaving the other two flat. Tip for the next travelers: If something isn’t working or is broken, alert manager immediately. That way you can at least enjoy the equipment while there. We waited, and by the time we alerted the manager, we lost out because the hurricane winds closed all the beaches. All things considered, we enjoyed the island, enjoyed the sights and national parks, and marveled at the difference in rugged beauty from the other islands we’ve visited. Just know, this island isn’t like the others. The beaches are small, rockier, and therefore crowded.

Beautiful & Spacious!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It was a beautiful house, property and location. The pool is right down the road and easy to get to. Rooms are large and it fit our party of 10 very comfortably. I appreciated the property management greeting us before our arrival and letting us know they were "a text away" if we needed any help. We were short 3 beach towels for our party and they brought them within an hour of texting. (Great service!) The book of ideas to do while on the island was very helpful as well. The grill on the deck, extra propane bottle and beach gear in the garage was so handy for our large group as well! There was also plenty of kleenex, paper towels and toilet paper. We would definitely stay here again! The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star review was because: 1) The picture showed 6 bikes and we had 6 kids! However, there were only 4 bikes and we could not get two more even when we asked. 2) The carpets, baseboards, and couches could use a good shampoo/scrub down. For the most part, it was very clean. However the shower curtain in the bathroom downstairs was very dirty, bath mats could have been washed, and carpet shampooed. 3) The surrey bike was broken. Again, something that was in the pictures that we couldn't take advantage of. It was broken and they said the part was there, it just didn't get fixed in time to use it. I'm sure it will be ready for the next people that want to use it!

Great home for our grown up family vacation

We are a large group now with 3 married kids and 1 grandchild. We wanted to get away to the island of Hawaii and comfortably stay all together. This was the perfect space for us - clean, nicely furnished, fully stocked kitchen since we like to cook, and a great neighborhood with pools and exercise room that our athletic kids used a lot. There were beach towels and chairs that we used every day and plenty of sand toys for our granddaughter. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

This is a great location, near many great beaches. The home was clean and very comfortable for our group of 10! Beach towels and chairs were a great addition and the the pool and common neighborhood area was fabulous. I would absolutely recommend this property.

Perfect Location / Great Pool

The location of this property was perfect. Close to some very nice beaches, shopping and grocery stores. The pool was beautiful and only a short walk from the house. House came stocked with everything you need for the beach, including sand toys and plenty of towels. The kitchen was a little short on everyday supplies; like a cookie sheet, but overall, we had a great time. Beds were very comfortable and the layout of the house worked great for our group; 5 adults and 2 kids. Property managers responded quickly to needs / requests as well.

Perfect for what we needed!

The Hawaiian Bliss house was perfect for two families. The amenities they provided such as bikes, snorkel gear, chairs and umbrellas came in handy daily for us. Very spacious to accommodate 9 of us. Community is beautiful and well kept up. Thank you for a great time!!

Sand Castle Group Trip

We had a group of 8 staying at Sand Castle for a friend's wedding, and the property is amazing. Perfectly comfortable for 8 (could have fit 10). The kitchen had everything we needed to make some big meals together, everything felt updated and taken care of, and the keypad entry made checking in and getting in and out a breeze. The pool and workout facilities were high quality too. Would definitely stay here again.

amazing home for the week

This home was just the right size for us, 4 adults and 5 kids ranging in age from 3 to 8. Beach gear was all there in the garage which was super helpful. pool was close by, and beach club and beaches also just a short drive away. It was great to have the lanai to have breakfast in the morning, and the kitchen to have all the amenities as well, even a rice cooker! such an amazing vacation, thank you!

Lovely and Comfortable Home for families

We had 6 adults/ 3 children, and the Sand Castle Villa was just perfect. All the beds were very comfortable and having the garage full of chairs, umbrellas, bikes, boogie boards and snorkel gear made life easy. The Mauna Lani beach club was perfect for our little ones and an easy 10 min. drive away. We enjoyed the large kitchen, as well as the outdoor BBQ and had most of our dinners at home. Although we didn't get to swim in the community pool, we did use the gym, which is an easy 5 min. walk within the complex. We would definitely go back, and highly recommend staying at the Sand Castle Villa.

Fabulous location and home. Wonderful hosts.

We stayed at Sand Castle Villa with our family of 9, including two kids aged 2 and 6. The house is beautiful and very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook multiple courses. We love to cook so having a kitchen that even had spices so we didn’t need to buy them was a bonus. The large covered lanai in the back was a really nice place to enjoy our breakfast and evenings with family. We are really picky about beds when we travel after years of business travel. Sand Castle beds must be brand new as they felt amazing. This is a really big deal. Sometimes it’s little things like having board games to play with the kids after a fun day at the beach. The home has adult and kids bikes. There is a Surrey family bike which is not dedicated to the home. It’s shared so make sure you ask ahead. We had to wait a couple of days as other families were using it but it was fun for photos but lots of work. My recommendation is to go out in the morning when it’s cooler and make sure your kids are willing to help pedal so mom and dad don’t have to do all the work. We were a little worried about the news of the volcano but were relieved when we got to Hawaii that it was very far away and the skies were clear on the Kohala Coast. The owners are very responsive, clearly taking great pride in providing their guests with the best possible experience and planning for every interest and age group. They even volunteered a late checkout after hearing of our 9:00pm departure from the island. This has been our best VRBO experience by far.

Paradise in Hawaii H.

Outsanding Stay. Love this home!!!

We just came back from a wonderful holiday in Hawaii visiting multiple islands and this was the best location for our family of 9 (ages ranging 2 to 67). The home is elegant and large with lots of space for our multi-generation family. It has a wonderful large covered lanai with a grill. We were able to enjoy cooking in the home and playing games with our grandkids outdoors each day. The kitchen in this home had everything we have at home if not more which helped make the stay affordable. There was even spices and lots of supplies helping us avoid spending money on things we might not use a lot of. There are nice restaurants down the road but we saved by eating at home most days. After fun mornings at the beaches it was nice to bring our grandkids home for a nap and then take them to the community lagoon style pool that is just down the road. The covered area by the pool has tables and couches with lots of of shade. There is some construction in this new community but it was in far off in the distance and not near us. The large garage was very well equipped for our beach days. In addition to snorkel gear for adults and our older kids they even had a board with a viewing window so our littlest grandson could see the fish at the sheltered beach club. It was refreshing to come stay at a home where everything was clean and new. Jeff and Suzanne and their team were very responsive and gave us great tips for where to snorkel and other inexpensive things to do. They also live close by and popped over to show us how to use the TV when we wanted to watch Netflix one evening. All in all one of our best vacation rentals ever. We can’t wait to come back next year.
