Mauna Kea Apa Apa a' Home - 180 Degree Ocean Views - Large Pool - Club Member


This home is the place for you and your family. Relax in our lovely private home with fabulous 180 degree sweeping ocean and mountain views. We are located in the famous Mauna Kea Resort at the Westin Hapuna Resort.

Situated in a gated cul-du-sac with only 2 homes, it provides a quiet environment for your visit. Two sides of the house are surrounded by a green belt of native plants behind which is part of the golf course. There is a 2 car attached garage for quick access going straight into the laundry room and kitchen. Great for unloading.

This home offers three bedrooms comprising of two king master suites with lanai access and an Ohana (meaning family) which is a large separate bedroom with two twins that convert to a king upon request. The Ohana with its separate entry inside the court yard has a game table, mini refrigerator, sink, microwave and cable TV. Each bedroom has its own private full bath with an additional dedicated 1/4 bathroom for guests and family. Our home comfortably sleeps six people, but we can squeeze in another with our blow up bed.

All bedrooms have cable TV. A separate media room contains a 47 inch flat screen TV, home entertainment system with Blu ray/DVD player for those who love that. There is free wireless high speed internet. Please let us know if you plan to zoom as Spectrum on our island can have it's challenges.

We have a newly re-modeled private solar heated pool and a separate heating source (small fee for 5 hours a night use) for the large spa both facing the ocean to enjoy at beautiful sunsets year round and for laps as well.

The kitchen features granite counter tops, brand new microwave, oven and dishwasher. The ceiling fan will keep things cool in the kitchen especially if using the built in desk to flip through local recipes. Relax at the high top counter bar while all the prep work is being done!

Being a member of THE CLUB guests have an option to purchase their own access enjoying both the Mauna Kea Resort and the Westin Hapuna Resort for a daily fee that covers the entire household. Look for a flyer to down load about the program.

Great Property!

Spectacular Slice of Heaven

We had a fabulous stay in this gorgeous home on the Kohala Coast. The views are stunning, pool and hot tub are amazing, and the house is immaculate, spacious, well-equipped, quiet, and so, so comfortable. Everything about this vacation was perfect. This home is a 10++++!

Fantastic house & pool near the resorts

The house, pool and yard were beautiful, modern, well-maintained, and perfectly located. Great views!! Our 12 yr old enjoyed the pool and hot tub, and there was plenty of outdoor furniture for morning coffee, lounging and dining. The property manager was proactive and helpful in communicating about all aspects of our stay. It was easy to get to both Mauna Kea and Hapuna resorts and ideal to use both beach and pool areas. We couldn't ask for a better vacation and would love to return.

The Perfect House!!!

We spent an amazing 8 days in this house, and could not have been happier. The views of the ocean and the mountains are unbelievable, and we were blown away by the sunset every evening. The location is great. Only a few short minutes to the Mauna Kea, although we spent a lot of our time in the backyard, enjoying the pool and jacuzzi. The kitchen was fully equipped with state of the art appliances, and we had absolutely everything we could possibly need. Overall, we had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed a week in this beautiful house!

Ideal property for Big Island family vacation

We cannot say enough positive things about this property and this island. This was our 3rd visit to the Hawaii islands and the Big Island has become our favorite. This property is in the perfect location - beautiful weather and spectacular views. We had the best of both worlds - house where we could cook most of our meals but also access to amazing resorts with beautiful beaches and pools. The property manager is top-notch and very responsive. The house itself is spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The sunset views are like no other. The Big Island has so much to offer - fun adventures and relaxing days at the beach. We will definitely be back - to this island and this property!

Total Paradise

I looked at a lot of properties when I was planning this trip. I decided on this house because of the pool and hot tub. They did not disappoint. House is furnished with everything you would need (from a-z). The kitchen has everything for a culinary delight. Bedroom suites are spacious and comfortable. The outdoor furniture is perfect for hanging out, having dinner and star gazing. It is very quiet and peaceful.. House is beautifully landscaped! We would totally return.

Fabulous Home!

The four of us just absolutely loved our stay at this 3 bedroom, 3 bath property with the pool and spa just steps away from the long shaded patio . We had an ocean view and the property was private. There was lots of room to spread out, inside and out. The outside set up was excellent, We especially loved the 4 padded lounge chairs. The house was clean, well equipped and the beds comfy. We didn’t use the 3rd bedroom which was totally furnished and entry was just outside the front door. We would highly recommend this beautiful home, It was perfect.

We were so happy at this house. The house is at the end of a private two-house gated road up above Mauna Kea resort/Hapuna Resort. It has a large flat property with tons of fruit trees (not supposed to pick but they are so cool to see!). The house is super bright, large and clean and has a wall of windows overlooking the ocean. The view in the posted pictures is NOTHING like the actual view which is much bigger and better. We watched the sunset every night and then the stars. The pool is a great size and is surrounded by lawn and garden. The kitchen is very well stocked with appliances that are fabulous (I had to learn how to use an induction cooktop). We honestly don't want anyone to know about this house because it is so great! Donna was a great host who was friendly and very responsive and helpful. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Stunning

We absolutely loved our stay at this property! Stunning ocean view and having access to the hotel properties was wonderful. We couldn’t believe how private it was, too. Only 1 other house in the gated community and complete privacy in the backyard unlike many other houses on the golf course. Perfect location for daily beach trips and afternoons by the house pool! The pool is raised above ground, which we loved because we had a toddler with us. The kitchen is well stocked (we cooked every night) and they have great pool and beach toys for kids. Even a pack n play! The jacuzzi was lovely. Heated so quickly. Beds are very comfortable and there’s enough space for three couples or two couples with kiddos. We’ll be back and thank you Donna for all your help in coordination!

Good stay, accommodations a little misleading

This is a well-appointed house in a beautiful spot. The listing is a little misleading as the 3rd room isn’t accessed from within the house. You need a separate key to access the outside door. This did not work for us as we were planning to put our 9 year old in that room. We were also disappointed that the pool floor was quite dirty when we arrived but it was cleaned the next day, thankfully. Perhaps they come on a scheduled time each week but it does seem appropriate to do an extra cleaning if guests are arriving. Donna was communicative and responded quickly to questions.

Aloha! We state on the web site that the Ohana is has it's own entrance. We will see how we can better convey that! The day of your arrival we had high winds. Unfortunately, even when the owners arrive on a windy day, the pool service company does not make special trips as you can imagine how many windy days we have. Nice House

The house view was like no other. Georgous !!! The pool and hot tub was amazing! The house its self was nice however needs an update with bedding , pillows, and carpet need replacing. There are ant traps and dead bugs everywhere. Kinda made me feel uneasy but I guess that's what you get in Hawaii. The bedding/ bed was not as luxurious as I would have thought because of the home being so beautiful. The furniture/ bed one bedrooms were dated. The house has two master bedroom that are located with in the house the third master ( two twin beds) had its own entrance. Kinda surprised me because it's not what I had imagined for my 10 and 12 year old. The 12 year old loved it however. The rental agent was great they responded to any problems we had. Also the garage was filled with coolers, snorkels and floats.

Thank you so much for your review. I'm sorry about finding dead bugs. It is a constant battle in Hawaii. We do have a pest control company come out monthly to keep it under control. I am in the process of looking for new bedding for the master suites and new bedside tables for the master suite. I have also purchased new shades for the master suite. I am glad you were able to make use of the snorkels, floats, etc in the garage. We also have a large selection of beach toys. We hope you will visit again. Judy

Perfect house in a perfect location for our family

Everything about this house is top notch . It’s a beautifully built high quality home that is fully stocked with comfy beds , everything you could want in a kitchen and a spectacular view . We were at the Westin daily and having the space of the home plus the hotel and beach access was just perfect ! We didn’t realize how gorgeous this hotel was and that Hapuna is the most beautiful beach on the Big Island when we booked it ! It was just fabulous ! Only minor downside is that we couldn’t figure out how to get the hot tub warm . We tried warming it for an hour but that wasn’t long enough to warm up , so that was a minor bummer . Did not stop us from having the most fabulous vacation week ! Donna is amazing and totally responsive - even to my constant Covid test questions on our way in . Don’t forget to post both trips on the safe travels app if you are connecting through another island and also our family that wasn’t vaccinated had to get tested at the airport again . Despite the testing anxiety , once we arrived , this week was pure magic . The beauty and peacefulness of this location and the spectacular views were over the top . Highly recommend ! We’ll be coming back for sure .

Please stay safe and stay in touch! 🌺Donna (PS - the hot tub is so large it does take longer to heat up. We added an extra hour for that!)

This home above Mauna Kea resort has a “10” panoramic view and a beautiful yard with various trees and plants.Feont patio design and furniture is beautiful & comfortable.Kitchen appliances and dishes,pots & pans available is extremely well equipped.Beach towels,water toys for all family members were abundant and in good working condition.Household tools,replacement lite bulbs etc were abundant. Upon arrival,our family had several issues with living room fan,hot tub and cleanliness of several house areas .Response from our agent and maintenance personnel familiar with house was quite rapid and items were resolved to our satisfaction. Only item that was not resolved was front glass window blind operation. These manual shades were difficult to use and became stuck in partial down position requiring much time and patience to operate. So,we just left them up and enjoyed the sunshine and view. Overall rating 8.5 out of 10.

Amazing property in an amazing location. The house, pool, and view were all spectacular and we loved the easy access to beaches and the hotel amenities. Donna and the house staff are top notch and made sure we had the perfect stay. Amazing family memories. What an experience.

A piece of Heaven in Hapuna Resort

The home was beautiful with a stunning view. The pool was comfortable and fun to swim in. Lots of comfortable seating and the beds were comfortable. The resort options are also fabulous and we loved the beach and pool at Hapuna and Mauna Kea. We had a great Christmas here! Also the concierge and management were top notch!!

We have vacationed at Mauna Kea and Hapuna Beach for years and love this part of Hawaii best. We have always wanted to own a home here and finally had the opportunity to purchase this beautiful home.

この宿泊施設の特徴

This home is very private, with only one other house on the north side. Two sides of the house have a green belt of native plants. Wonderful sweeping views of the ocean and coast line both to the north and south. We grow organic papaya and banana trees bearing fruit most of the year for our clients. There are also a variety of citrus and pineapple in season. Lovely lanai along entire west side of the house with teak lounges and tables and chairs. Nice gas grill for outdoor meals. Enjoy the sunsets from the great room, lanai or swimming pool and spa.
If you choose the amenity package, you can enjoy the same amenities we do at both hotels--including reduced fees for golf at both Mauna Kea and Westin Hapuna, tennis at the seaside courts at Mauna Kea, beach and pool access at both hotels (including beach towels, lounge chairs and umbrellas).
