Thank you Jenny for this positive review!! We try to make our guests feel at home and well taken care of and it makes us feel so good when our efforts are appreciated! Recently we took out a wall between the kitchen and the dining room - living room. This opened up the house and the sunlight came dancing in through the windows! We also improved the electrical lighting and there is an almost magical effect at night through this new led technology! We have loved our house now for four generations. It used to be an olive mill and the sometimes 80 centimeters thick outer walls have plenty to tell!!! All the best and welcome back!! Mats and Dafne

Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure accommodating you and your many groups of friends throughout your stay so you could all enjoy our home. The pool atmosphere really is quite stunning and we are so glad you enjoyed it! As most homes in Fornalutx, ours is a historic one - one which we tend to it with great care and pride as it has been in our family for over three generations. Unfortunately, we are not aware of any wood worm or anything flaking onto the beds- we have never experienced this ourselves in the several months a year that we have spent there for the last 35 years. As for the damp, we have not experienced this either, it could have been associated with the extreme rain patterns that affected the area at that time just before your visit. We apologize if you experienced anything abnormal and as a precaution we have had two separate contractors inspect the room in question and neither found anything unusual. Of course, we want our guests to have the best and most comfortable visit and had we been made aware of the issues at the time of your stay, we would have been happy to address the problem right away. We pride ourselves in being available to assist our guests prior to, during and after their stay. Guests are always free to call us if the house manager is not available to address an issue. Mallorca is known for its narrow and winding streets. We always recommend a smaller car as we know not everyone has the same amount of experience driving on these narrow roads as we have had these last few decades. Thank you again!

Dear Jenny!! My mother, Gunnel Nicou, was the Lady from our family who first came to Fornalutx back in 1953. My father Hans soon followed her and after a few years they bought this old olive mill that now is our home. There were sheds to harbor the donkeys that during harvest season walked round and round in the now living room to move the cone shaped stone that crushed the olives.(Please see the stone just outside the entrance). A huge tank where water was boiled and the crushed olives were dumped to give off the oil on the surface, was sitting on the east side of the living room. The only trace of this function is the chimney on the roof (that now has no function). Outside the living room under the pool roof there is a huge leather and wood hand operated fan that urged on the flames in the stove. We just came back from this our beloved home, My parents are resting in the little cemetery and they are smiling down at the now three generations that keep giving love to S/Aubareta, just as they did. This time we took out a non bearing wall and thereby made the kitchen and the dining room into one with a full view of the living room and the pool area. The old dining room became a comfortable living area with a new, big L shaped sofa. Pictures will soon be uploaded. We hope you will enjoy this new, beautiful addition that our 2 daughters designed and helped create!!!!! Apropos stairs. We are located on a paved, level street, and we have 3 parking places on our premises. This is a luxury in Fornalutx where most homes are located up the hills which means walking with suitcases up the many steps to the home. With gratitude Mats o Dafne

Short and to the point!! What a wonderful review!! For many years we have put a lot of love and hard work into this old house that used to be an old olive mill! Just yesterday we finished remodling the brake fast area and we made it into a large light dining room connected to the kitchen. The old dining room will now be a large living room with a comfortable sofa group! In the garden three large fig trees will have lots of fruit and the avocado tree has hundreds of little fruit that will be ready in the early fall! The 20 orange trees give fruit almost year around.... The Boccie or Petanque court is raked and looks so beautiful! Tank you Valerie Stevenson for your nice words!! Mats and Dafne

Our Home, S'Aubareta, has been in our family since 1970 and every year we, three generations, spend time improving on it and planning for new beautiful things that we all want to see done.
