A mix of friends joined me at various stages at this house in Fornaltux and we all agreed that the pool was the highlight. The peace and quiet sitting out there during the day and in the evening was amazing, one would hardly know you were just a few minutes walk from a busy village square.
The house is old and atmospheric, a converted mill, but some areas need work! there was a great deal of damp in the lower studio room, a fair bit of woodworm in ceiling beams that showered down here and there onto beds and floors, the upper bathroom had a few issues and could do with an update. Unfortunately, the local lady who manages the house had family troubles during our stay and was rarely available to help with a few problems we had. Perhaps someone in reserve would be a good idea?
Despite this, we had a lovely 12 days, the village is wonderful, great bakeries, bars and little shops and the main store had everything you could need, including excellent fresh meat.
The street down to the house is really narrow and only suitable for small cars - perhaps this should be included in the spec for the house. The car hire 'upgraded me' (always a mistake!) and I had to swap back to something smaller on day 2 before I had a nervous breakdown.
On the whole a nice stay though
