Traditional house in Artà

“Ca sa padrina” is a stunning traditional house located in the popular town of Artá, in the North-East region of Mallorca. The house has belonged to the family since the 15th century and has been completely refurbished during this winter. The result is absolutely outstanding, as the two floors combine modernity with Mallorca’s traditions in a unique urban environment. Beautiful beaches, as well as numerous golf courses and tennis clubs are within a short driving distance. Moreover, since 2018, we have a bicycle maintenance and repair station with the "Cycling Friendly Silver" quality certificate.

The entire house has been carefully decorated with an eclectic mix of antique and contemporary furniture. Brand new appliances, including a modern charcoal grill, are provided to make the place suitable not only for couples but also for families and groups of friends. Presided by an orange tree, a spacious patio behind the house is one of its main attractions. The pleasant shade of the tree makes the patio an ideal place for breakfast. Moreover, the pool will be the perfect spot to spend the sunny Mallorcan mornings. In the evenings, the patio invites for a barbecue dinner, or for a simple glass of wine under the starry sky.

The town of Artà has about 7,000 inhabitants, and it is ideally situated for those who want to escape from the most touristic destinations without giving up the pleasures of the island. Artà has a wide selection of bars and restaurants where to taste the delicious Spanish cuisine. The popular Tuesday market in the central streets of the town is a must for any visitor. Additionally, the town is just a short drive from the breathtaking village of Colonia de Sant Pere, or from Capdepera, with its incredible medieval castle. The beautiful and popular beaches of Cala Agulla or Cala Mesquida, in Cala Rajada, are within 10-15 minutes driving distance.

Artá has a reputation for making its guests feel at home, and we are convinced that “Ca sa padrina” is the place you are looking for if you want to spend an unforgettable holiday in Mallorca.

Unser Aufenthalt in Arta war sehr schön

Wir hatten vom Wetter her eine Hitzewelle erwischt, sodass eine Klimaanlage wünschenswert gewesen wäre. Auch die Größe des Pools war auf den Bildern etwas übertrieben groß dargestellt.

Bonitas vacaciones en familia

La casa está muy bien situada, en el centro de Arta que es un pueblo muy bonito donde hay varias cosas que hacer y la playa cerca. La casa es antigua pero así se mantiene su encanto, con alguna decoración de antaño y muy cómoda para pasar las vacaciones, con dos baños, toallas y cosas para ir a la playa. La comunicación con Laura (la propietaria) desde el primer día es muy buena, siempre disponible por si necesitamos algo. Si hay alguna pega es que no hay aire acondicionado, hemos pasado un poco de calor para dormir aunque hay ventiladores en todas las habitaciones, y el check in un poco tarde y el check out muy pronto, aunque laura nos dejó entrar mucho más pronto en la casa !! 🥰 enfin, os recomiendo esta casa para pasar unas buenas vacaciones en familia!

Es war alles in Ordnung, wir hatten keinerlei Beanstandungen und würden es wieder buchen. Es war sauber und ordentlich, zudem war der Erstkontakt gut. Getränke und Obst standen bei Anreise bereit. Die Anfahrt mit dem Auto war gewöhnungsbedürftig (viele verwinkelte kleine Strassen) aber hat funktioniert. Eine Klimaanlage in den Schlafräumen wäre angenehmer, da es im OG schon sehr warm war.

Großartiges Haus in großartiger Gegend.

Wir verbrachten 10 wundervolle Tage mit unseren Kindern in Artà in diesem tollen Stadthaus. Empfangen wurden wir von sehr netten Vermietern. Carme und Ihre Familie haben uns das Gefühl sehr willkommen zu sein, Sschrn die wir bei Buchung vergessen hatten zu fragen, wurden schnell organisiert und bereitgestellt z.B. ein Babybett. Im nächsten Urlaub würden wir die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall wieder in Erwägung ziehen. Absolut empfehlenswert. Danke!

Wundervolles Haus in Arta

Noch einmal vielen Dank an Carme! Das Haus ist wundervoll! Hier ein paar Punkte im Detail für alle Interessenten: 1) Das Stadthaus ist sehr geräumig und liebevoll eingerichtet. Alles ist vorhanden - wir haben nichts vermisst. Wenn mal was war (Abfluss oder Strom) dann hat Carme umgehend(!) reagiert und Abhilfe geschaffen. Die unmittelbare Umgebung ist ruhig. 2) Der Innenhof (Patio) ist traumhaft. Ein grosser Sonnenschirm schützt beim Frühstück oder man schiebt den Tisch direkt unter den Orangenbaum. Abends bietet der Grill eine sehr gut Möglichkeit, gemütlich zu essen. Und manchmal lässt sich ein kleiner Gecko an der Steinmauer sehen. Im Haus gab es aber keine Tiere. 3) Das Haus befindet sich mitten in der Altstadt von Arta. Nur 100 Meter weiter fängt die sehr schöne Einkaufsstrasse von Arta an. Hier gibt es eine sehr gute Auswahl an Restaurants. Die Qualität stimmt und die Preise liegen von mittel bis manchmal etwas zu hoch. Aber man hat ja die Wahl ;-) 4) Ein spanischer Bäcker ist direkt am Anfang der Einkaufsstrasse. Ein deutscher/polnischer Bäcker ist nochmal 150 Meter weiter die Strasse runter. Sehr gut! Ebenso ein Eroski (Supermarkt) ist vorhanden. 5) Man befindet sich in der Altstadt - also ist das Parken direkt vor dem Haus nur für Leute mit sehr gutem Gefühl für's Auto. Uns war es zu eng. Alternativ parkt man oben an der Burg auf einem kostenlosen Stadt-Parkplatz (beleuchtet). Das sind so ca. 300-400 Meter. 6) Die Schlafräume sind im 1. OG. Das wird oben im Sommer (Hauptsaison) sehr warm. Es gibt Ventilatoren, die man die Nacht laufen lassen muss. Klima ist leider nicht vorhanden. Das ist aber auch so das einzige, was ich bemängeln würde. Zusätzlich gibt es noch 1 Bett im EG. Würden wir nochmal wiederkommen? Mit Sicherheit!! Als Ausgangspunkt, um den östlichen Teil der Insel zu erkunden (viele schöne Sandstrände) ist es ideal. Und abends kann man durchaus "mal eben" auch nach Cala Rajada fahren (wo auch ein Lidl ist), wenn man doch mal das Bedürfnis nach dem typischen Tourismus haben sollte oder auch nur einen Coktail am Hafen trinken will. :-)

Arta - Great place to stay

Carme gave us a lovely welcome into her 400yr old typical Majorcan town house. She had bought some food so that we didn't have to shop straight away and included some local wine! Arta was a great place to stay and with no pool ensured that we explored the local beaches and towns.

A beautiful house!

The newly renovated house was really clean and spacious. A big kitchen with all machines, nice bathrooms and nice bedrooms. The patio is also a bonus. Theres also a washing machine and a dryer. The host was really friendly, she organised also the cleaning of the house (we booked additionally) and which was really good is that the hospital (in case you need it) is just a few minutes walk away. The hosts mother was a doctor which helped us a lot because she speaks english and german when our girl had a small accident. The house is best located in Artà near restaurants, bars and shops. The near beaches are absolutely amazing. but you will need a car to reach them. The street is very narrow so you need to park your car at a free public car park which is a few minutes away (except you are really brave and dare to drive your car into that street and are confident that nobody will scratch it) Although we really enjoyed our stay at the house there were some things which were not so good: - a lot of ants in the street force you to leave the floor always perfectly clean (with children its not always possible). - The 1st floor, in which the bedrooms are located gets very warm and although there were fans and we left the windows open the nights were not very relaxing. Unfortunately no A/C although the roof is not isolated. - The electricy switched off a few times when a few machines were on.

Wer das authentische Mallorca fernab der Bettenburgen sucht ist hier richtig!

Wir waren mit sieben Personen für eine Woche in diesem schönen Haus. Am Ende haben wir nicht eine Sache zu beanstanden! Die Gastgeber sind gastfreundlich, haben uns das Haus in einem sehr sauberen Zustand überlassen und waren zur Abstimmung unserer Ankunft völlig flexibel. Das Haus verfügt neben einem gemütlichen Innenhof über vier Schlafzimmer mit je zwei Betten im 1. OG und ein Schlafzimmer mit einem Bett im EG. In beiden Etagen ist jeweils ein Vollbad. Die Küche ist groß und zum Eingang offen gestaltet. Das Wohnzimmer im Zwischengeschoss haben wir aufgrund des guten Wetters gar nicht genutzt. Kurze Fragen während unseres Aufenthaltes konnten wir jederzeit unserer Gastgeberin per WhatsApp stellen und haben fix ne Antwort bekommen. Dass das Haus von Teilen der Gastfamilie in den Wintermonaten selbst bewohnt wird, spricht auch für die Qualität der Unterkunft. Man fühlte sich richtig wie in einem Zuhause. Artà ist eine spannende Kleinstadt mit unzähligen sehr schmalen und teils steilen Straßen. Hier lernt man das Auto fahren! Aufgrund der Lage der Stadt ist ein Auto zu empfehlen. Schnell sind Ziele wie Strände, touristische Hafenstäde, die Drachenhöhlen und vieles mehr erreichbar. Sinnvoll ist die Nutzung des nahen Parkplatzes am Ortsrand vor allem für diejenigen, die das Mietauto ohne Kratzer wieder abgeben wollen. Wer in Artà bleibt, findet hier unter anderem schöne Restaurants mit guter Küche, die Wallfahrtskirche Sant Salvador auf einem Festungsplateau mit guter Sucht über die Stadt, einen Boulevard mit Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und jeden Dienstag einen Wochenmarkt. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen und können die Unterkunft für jeden empfehlen, der Urlaub auf Mallorca fernab der Touristenhochburgen machen möchte.

highly recommended

Very well appointed unit in an ideal location just a few minute's walk from the main street of Arta. It had everything we needed for our stay and all amenities were in excellent condition including comfortable beds and two modern bathrooms. The private courtyard was a bonus.
