You could not want a better area to stay in for a visit to Bordeaux than Chartrons. Elegant and calm in atmosphere, it reminded us very much of the Marais in Paris. The apartment is in a quiet, narrow street with a tram stop only a few metres away at one end and the Cours Portal at the other, with all you are likely to need for your daily shopping.
The lovely Jardin Public is just a stroll away and a few minutes further on you are in the centre of the city.
The apartment is spacious, spotlessly clean, quiet and very well equipped, with lots of extra useful bits and pieces in the drawers and cupboards.
Noa, our hostess, always replied to our texts within a few minutes and was very warm and welcoming on our arrival. As well as a bottle of wine she had thoughtfully provided tea, coffee, milk and enough basic provisions for us to have a snack without having to rush straight out to the shops.
We were hardly aware of the other residents in the block but when we did meet them they were friendly and polite. Similarly the local shop assistants always had a welcoming smile for us when they realised we were on holiday in the area.
We enjoyed our holiday very much and this was one of the best apartments we have stayed in so we would not hesitate to recommend it.
