Hi Marie Thank you for your review. I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Once Funchal is left behind, everywhere in Madeira feels very rural. The Island government has been very proactive with establishing the new roads and tunnels to connect all the Towns. Our recently extended section of the Via Rapide now offers a straight route into Calheta in 12 minutes, or use the traditional road down to the beach at Paul de Serra in 6 minutes. So it allows us to offer a peace and quiet location, but with easy access to larger facilities when required. We would be delighted to see you again in the future. regards Bill

A Car is essential wherever one stays in Madeira. I am pleased you got chance to explore some of the Restaurants towards Ponta do Pargo. They cater for the locals as well, so have to produce a good show with their local recipes. We would be delighted to see you again in the future regards Bill

Hi David thank you for your review, I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay. The Pool and the views continue to be a delight for all our Guests. Since the pandemic, the provision of condiments etc etc has been a sensitive subject. We receive new Guests, each week and every week. The Madeira trading standards advise against hosts supplying already opened items that might then be used by a different party. It is a topic that we continue to review. We do however include items such as the Pool heating inclusive in the Tariff, whilst many owners charge extra, in order to remain highly cost competitive. Sorry about the BBQ tongs. We do of course supply these, and keep a reserve stock of such perishable items in our Garage on site. The previous Guests may have misplaced them, but the Housekeepers would have been happy to whizz over and replace them if notified. But thank you for the heads up. On occasion, there are hiccups between departing Guests and new arrivals. The departees caused two items of damage. The HK informed me of the damage to the Pool vinyl liner (currently “in vogue” with 98% of Madeiran Villas). The repair was done early the next day and ready for use within 4 hours. You were kept closely updated but chose to ignore my advice. The Pool was not “topped back up” for you because our Maintenance Supervisor was too frightened by your hostile attitude to return. Washing machine issue was reported to me at 2:30pm Saturday, in a similar hostile manner. HK and maintenance man attended Sunday 10am with a brand-new machine, but were able to affect a quick repair. Your repeated demand for early check in disrupted the usual HK routine. Otherwise these items would have been identified and dealt with before your arrival. Multiple photographs and description of the property are meticulous and 100% accurate. We appreciate all feedback and use it to constantly evolve and improve. This will include retro-fitting traditional Pool tiles this winter. But comments based upon conjecture are unhelpful and contrary to the usual 5* rating of the Property. We have welcomed international guests to our properties for 20 years and are familiar with different cultural expectations. But hostility communicates itself in an international language. We will analyse your comments in further detail, but would concur that this was not a mutually beneficial experience. regards Bill

In unserer Gegend gibt es keine wilden Autos, aber einige sehr schlaue und dicke Haustiere, die gelernt haben, Besucher um Futter zu bitten, indem sie alle Villen im Dorf patrouillieren. Wir weisen unsere Gäste darauf hin, sie nicht zu füttern. Wenn Gäste diese Hinweise ignorieren, verschwinden sie. Madeira wurde zum neunten Mal in Folge als bestes europäisches Inselziel ausgezeichnet. Infolgedessen herrscht auf Madeira ein Bauboom. Einer unserer Nachbarn weiter unten am Hang hat ein neues Haus gebaut. Der Bau begann im Oktober 2024 und ist nun abgeschlossen. Lediglich die Innen- und Dekorationsarbeiten sind noch im Gange. In dieser Zeit hatten wir 71 Gästebuchungen in unseren beiden am nächsten gelegenen Unterkünften und haben keine Beschwerden erhalten. Glücklicherweise liegt das Haus weit genug entfernt und tiefer gelegen, sodass der Lärm minimal ist. Aber wie immer kann es gelegentlich zu Hintergrundgeräuschen kommen, die einem das Gewissen belasten könnten. Ich danke Ihnen für Ihre Informationen. Wir freuen uns über konstruktive Bewertungen, damit wir unsere Leistung analysieren können. Es wäre jedoch vorteilhafter, wenn diese Kommentare zu Beginn Ihres Aufenthalts abgegeben worden wären, damit die Haushälterinnen etwaige Probleme sofort hätten lösen können. Bei dieser Gelegenheit schien die Leistung des Teams unter seinem üblichen Standard zu liegen und wurde entsprechend gerügt. Damit die Spülmaschine ordnungsgemäß funktioniert, muss der Gast das bereitgestellte Salz nachfüllen. Die Ofenhandschuhe werden zusammen mit den Handtüchern in der Schublade aufbewahrt. Tee, Kaffee und Milch werden bei der Ankunft bereitgestellt und bereits in den richtigen Schränken verstaut. Die Villa wird als Selbstversorger-Villa beworben und wir geben in unseren Informationen an, dass wir keine Artikel wie Kohle, Shampoo usw. zur Verfügung stellen. Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Eigentümern ist bei uns jedoch die teure Poolheizung im Tarif inbegriffen. Daher ist die Villa preislich immer äußerst wettbewerbsfähig. Obwohl Ihre Bewertung enttäuschend und die abgegebene Bewertung etwas hart ausfällt, haben wir das Housekeeping- und Wartungsteam bereits entsprechend angewiesen. Wir werden auch einige unserer Richtlinien im Hinblick auf zukünftige Upgrades überprüfen. Grüße Bill

Malheureusement, un invité précédent a laissé négligemment la couverture de la piscine ouverte et sans surveillance, et un vent fort l'a gravement endommagée. Nous avons dépêché un remplaçant, qui devrait arriver d'ici le 16 mai. Au-delà de l’aspect visuel de la couverture, la Piscine reste un élément très attractif et apprécié. La zone de stationnement est protégée par un portail de sécurité électronique. Il ne devrait y avoir aucun problème à moins qu'un autre invité ne soit passé au mécanisme manuel. Notre gouvernante est de garde pour résoudre tout problème de ce type, mais je ne sais pas si lui ou moi en avons été informés. Sinon, le problème aurait été réglé le jour même.
