Landed on Maui late in the Afternoon. Followed the usual routine, got the rental, picked up groceries. Get checked in, so far so good.
Upon entering the unit we notice that the stove has a note on it saying, "Aloha, stove is not working. Someone will be here to fix it tomorrow. Please don't touch it."
Unfortunately, we'd just bought several hundred dollars in groceries, but we understood. We ate out that night, and assumed the stove would be fixed as per the note.
While we were there on the first night we also noticed that the way the broken stove was left, it made it impossible to open the dishwasher - but again we assumed all would be corrected the next day.
The next day came and went, so did the second and third. 0 follow up from the property manager, stove and the dishwasher were still unusable. I finally had to call Jeff to find out about the repair.
Turns out the Stove was brand new and shipped not working. He was trying to find a repair guy, but could not offer a timeline on the repair. He offered to drop a hot plate off to get us through (which we took), but I'm not sure why we had to wait 4 days for it? And while the hot plate was good enough for bacon & eggs, it didn't do much for the Ahi I wanted to sear or the dishwasher not working.
Finally late on the 5th afternoon, a technician arrived and was able to fix the stove in 10 minutes.
After that the rest of the vacation went off without a hitch. The unit is very nice. The complex is very well kept, the caretaker Tony is a fantastic guy, the facility is clean & well kept.
