Property is in great location with easy access to nearby amenities. Cleanliness was lacking with the pool often times housing debris & multiple bugs found within the home.

Family Coming Together in Destin, Florida

The 4 and 5 Star rating that we hope our family would agree on, was given mainly on a few things. First, the location could only have been better if we could have walked out the back door and stepped onto the beach. The few minutes it took to get there was insignificant. Cross the street, walk half a block, you’re there. Secondly, the pool at the house was perfect, especially for the smaller kids. Adults enjoyed it also. Plenty of tables, chairs, lounge chairs, noodles and pool toys, gas grill, etc. Golf cart and complementary chairs and beach umbrella where a great addition. Thirdly, the house itself. Furnishings more than adequate. Bedrooms, bunk rooms, kitchen and living spaces all accommodated the 21 of us comfortably, most of the time. The bedroom situation worked out well considering the range in ages of all the kids. Some wound up in the Carriage House and it all seemed to work out OK.Not saying that we didn’t have some issues because we did. But thanks to Southern’s and the owner’s always quick, timely, and courteous response which added to the positive rating. We had a kitchen cabinet door fall off, kitchen sink faucet come off, no propane for the grill, overly used and leaking refrigerator. These things were all remedied by Southern technician. Even brought in a brand-new refrigerator. Seems to me these things should have been taken care of prior to our arrival. We understand that it’s probably hard to maintain and cosmetically take care of things aro

Great property for a group. Excellent location!

This property can house a large group comfortably. The location is as good as you can get without being on the beach directly. Loved that the golf cart and 2 chairs and umbrella were included with stay.

Fun Getaway

We were in town for a high school baseball tournament and just decided to rent a house with a few families for the week. The location was perfect for the guys who were focused on playing golf every day. When the girls weren’t playing basketball, we were right where they wanted to be——close to the shopping! A short walk led us to the beach on our off day and the weather was perfect! The older guys (19) enjoyed having their own space to hang out in thanks for a great stay!

Perfect for our large group!!

We visited for a family reunion. We had a very large and mixed group traveling with us including a mix of everything from a toddler and younger kids, teenagers and young adults, to my 67 year old mother in law and her 89 year old father and this house perfectly accommodated all of us. It was more than enough room for everyone to have their own space while still being together. Everything was just as described. The location was great. Unless you count having to leave, I had no complaints and as far as I know neither did anyone else in the group which is almost unheard of with all of us! 😁

Perfect Retreat and Family Gift

This may have been the easiest rental process of anything I have dealt with. Check-in and check-out was very clear and concise. Being new to VRBO, they answered all my questions throughout and were even very helpful in resolving forgotten items. Just a great and VERY affordable getaway at a beautiful property and a beautiful location. Will def definitely return!!! Thank you!!!

Great spring break with family

Overall, this was a good property with great proximity to the beach. Nicely decorated and beautiful. The property management company was great and very responsive and helpful. However, for the price paid, the owner needs to pay attention to details such as better quality and larger pots and pans to accommodate large occupancy for cooking. The electrical outlets needs changing as plugs easily fall out of them. A bathroom on the lower level of the carriage house would have been nice and convenient for guests stay in the lower room. A larger golf cart would be nice to accommodate more guests. An outdoor shower instead of a hose would be great for rinsing of sand from the beach. The third floor room needs a nightstand and something to hang clothes on.

Awesome

The whole process is easy and the owners communicated very well and also texted throughout the stay. The house is very much well for 30 guest. I will definitely be booking there again. Great view like a 3 minute walk to the beach. I love this stay definitely recommended 10/10.

It was just ok...

The best part about this house was the size and location. Plenty of time and beds so everyone felt spread out. Everything else was just OK. The elevator didn't work which we didn't find it until arrival. The decor is very basic and uninspired. While we knew that we had to bring our own dish soap, toilet paper, etc it was still disappointing having to do so for just a few days. The golf cart only seats 4 even though the house sleeps 30. The reclining couch didnt work. The fee to heat the pool was obscene but the weather was nice enough for a day that we didn't need it, just to turn the pump on. And our questions about that went unanswered. They were not hospitable or warm. It served or purpose but left nothing to be desired.

10th year In destin with family

This is our 10th year to come To destin with family we always stay on the beach and unfortunately this has been the worst property we have stayed at. The management team was very responsive and helpful in whatever way they could but prior to us arriving the house could have been in better condition. I work in home building and do this and deal with issues everyday and some of the over sites was just due to lack of supervision and over site on the entire team. I know it’s hard to find qualified workers and help with the labor and material shortages but when your paying almost 13k for the week and are having simple issues such as no propane in the grill ( destin is in shortage as well) property management reimbursed us but we still took all day going store to store looking for some. The golf cart battery was almost dead from previous guest, house was messy, trash outside, broken chairs, dirty pool. I could go on. Hopefully management team steps up the quality control to prevent future guest from having this experience.

Location and Ease of check in/out!!! Home needs some work and updating

Location was excellent and it was easy checking in and out. Lots of information about the house and amenities and "beach service" was very vague. We asked the beach service personnel and gave them our address which they did not service for. Not a big deal since we had a group and set up our own canopy/umbrellas each morning on the beach. The house needs some work, and looked like a big DIY project. Water hoses were broken, and debris left on the side of the house. A hose running to the pool to rinse off sand needed to be turned on near the back of the house, attached to the garage/carriage house. Drying rack left by the pool folded to the side was rusting. The furniture is old and falling apart, and the main couch was not comfortable at all. The master shower was disgusting, and had a screw set in to keep the door from sliding off. The tub was clean (we used this for our kids instead of the shower most of the time). Did not hear of any complaints from any of the other restrooms/bathrooms. This is a large house that can accommodate a lot of people, which worked out well for our group. Would rent again solely due to location, but the home needs some work (3.5 stars). Location is excellent, and a short distance to the beach entrance (5 stars)

Beautiful ocean view location

Beautiful location and property but home is older and had the bare minimum for our needs. No pool toys, bikes, or any accessories whatsoever. Furnished with older high end furniture and appliances, likely from an auction, some were substandard. We were able to make it work but we’re a bit surprised. We’ve rented properties before and they provided everything you needed. We had to go and buy beach toys, chairs, rent fishing poles, buy extra supplies for the kitchen as well. The guest house is very nice but there is no bathroom for the lower eight bunkbeds. They have to walk to the main house. That was not clear in the description. Overall, we had a wonderful time and we’re happy to be near the ocean but next time we might go for a newer property with more amenities.
