The resort was beautiful.

We enjoyed our stay. Next time we would get a condo closer to the water. The only downfall was the beach. We like to swim in the ocean and the beach in front of the resort is pretty rocky. If you walk about 10 minutes it is less rocky. Overall the resort and our condo were very nice.

The outdoor amenities were amazing and the highlight of my trip for my family. It was so family friendly and my toddler loved all the different types of pools, the water slide, and the beach. The room was spacious but I found it to be not that clean. The carpet left our socks filthy, and the couch was not clean. The dryer did not work and they could not fix it in the duration of my stay.

Comfy and clean, nice mountain and partial ocean views

We stayed 9 nights. Check in was a little bumpy as no one was in the lobby to receive us. First we went to the wrong, adjacent tower, got to the elevator and room, to find out from the occupant we we in the wrong place. Had we been greeted downstairs, we wouldn’t have lugged our bags to the wrong door. Once we arrived at our correct tower, again, no one to greet or receive us. Why is that? Anyways, the condo was nice and we had a great time.

Perfect location!

Loved the pool, beach and Dukes on the property! The condo was nice and spacious with beach chair, umbrellas and coolers available. Would stay there again for sure!

Great spot for family with teens

We brought two teens and four adults and had a great time. Something for everyone and the resort staff was exceptional as well as the unit.

The property was beautiful

The property was great, the unit was clean and as expected. The management service was average at best. It took the management company until the end of the second day to call us to help with questions. I called three times the first day with questions and received someone on their cell with no service. The TVs were not Smart so we couldn't access Netflixs, and if they were we did not get any instructions on how to access. There were no hangers in the hall closet for those that used the pull out. No smoking policy was loosely enforced so we had to contend with those smoking out on the balconies were blowing into our room. The description stated full 9th floor Ocean and West Maui mountains. You may want to consider saying full view from the 9th floor. This statement leads you to believe you have the full 9th floor. The trash disposal room in the hall was across from one of the units and it smelled badly. All in all I would recommend this property to friends. A few things would have made it much better.

Beautiful resort would definitely return!

The Honua Kai resort is a wonderful setting and cost effective as well. We were here for our son's wedding in Maui and it was great that other members of the group were able to stay here as well. The resort was big but felt very private as well. So many options for pools and hot tubs we never had a problem finding a chair and the families with kids stayed in the kid friendly areas leaving other pools more for adults which was nice. Maui Resort Rentals was great to work with, very responsive to emails and questions. We did have an issue that our washer didn't work which we didn't find out about until a few days in but they offered and did laundry for us (for free) returning it same day and provided extra towels which was great. The washer had been broken before our stay so I only wish we would have known in advance or they would have fixed it. But as noted before they were quick to help respond to the issue. I loved the wrist band "keys", much easier to keep track of. We also had a late check out which was great. The grocery store across the street made it convenient to stock up on food to make meals in the condo. We took advantage of the nice grills on the property to cook dinner on 2 evenings and it was great to relax and save a little money too. This property was in direct view of the construction going on which we were warned about and we really weren't around much during the day so it wasn't too much of an issue. We focused our attention on the partial ocean view which was beautiful. Free valet and self parking was nice but the garage was not designed very well with many "dead ends" requiring backing up to get out. Bottom line, we would definitely return to Honua Kai again!

Great place to stay. Central location . Service and staff all very helpful and nice. I missed a deeper pool ( fantastic for children) but found plenty of beaches to do a big swim. Dukes Pina Colada are the best I ever had ( top with dark rum floater)

a true oasis

The Honua Kai was paradise. The grounds, pool and room were wonderful. This was our first trip to Maui, and we LOVED it. When we arrived the room was ready early, it was CLEAN and had everything we needed. There were cleaning products already there for us. We ate at a ton of restaurants and Duke's was one of the best (the best next to Hula Grill). The food was great and priced reasonably. The service was great too. The only thing I would say is that you can skip the Sunday brunch. Nothing special. The resort was within walking distance to Whaler's Village and within a few minutes driving to Front Street. There were so many great restaurants too. Fleetwood's was great (reserve the roof tables), Hula Grill was the BEST (seafood stew was insane), Duke's was great (Duke'w lemonade!!) The pool area was great. There could be more umbrellas, but other than that it was great. The quiet area was very nice. Overall this was an A+ resort. Nothing to complain about at all!

Great Service and nice complex. Would stay here again!!

Great service and the condo was great. My only complaint is the hot tubs were not working and since we had a few overcast and very windy days during our stay it would have been nice to be able to use them. One the jets not working and the other was not even bath water warm. Otherwise a great resort!

Beautiful Room and Amazing Location

The room was wonderful - very clean and had everything you could need for a beach vacation with young kids. Maui Resort Rentals was SO easy to work with, responded quickly to all my questions, and provided amazing customer service. The resort was beautiful, the pools were amazing, and it was nice to have a sandy beach right in front of the hotel. Would definitely recommend this resort!

Beautiful, clean property

We had a great time, the condo was very nice and the staff friendly. We had two issues with the property. The location seemed to be in a wind tunnel. We would be at the pool experiencing 40 mph winds, we would go to Lahina, five miles away and there was a slight breeze. Our other issue was the service at the pool. It seemed to us the wait staff at the pool didn't want to be there. I believe the condos are set up more for families and thus not worried about serving drinks and when you do get service you can't charge it to your room so you have to carry money or a credit card with you. Something we prefer not to do at the pool.

Amazing!!

Love the Honua Kai. Family friendly. Staff is amazing. Dukes restaurant on site is nice with very friendly service. Our rental unit was great & exactly as described on VRBO. Easy check in with the property management company. Their new shuttle service was very convenient & they bent over backwards to accommodate us with drop off & pick ups. Overall an amazing trip and can’t wait to come back.

Great facility, great service

Honua Kai is fantastic. This was our second stay here and the resort is contemporary, clean and well located. 5 min from Whaler's village, 10 min from Front St. Lahaina, 10 min to Kapalua. Underground parking is a nice convenience. The pools are great, especially for families and it's great to have a beach right onsite. Having Duke's restaurant onsite is a plus too. Maui Resort Rentals are pros - easy to deal with and get a hold of, attentive and quick. Zero worries with them, they bring the Aloha! The location of this particular unit (Konea 932) is generally nice, away from the pool noise, not a full ocean view but the partial view is pretty and the view of the sunrise over the mountains is a nice plus. We are traveled with our 2 kids and the unit was perfect. Maui Resort Rentals split the beds in the one room and the kids had their own bathroom which is fantastic. Plenty of space, nice kitchen with everything that you need. Just one heads up (certainly not a negative with Maui Resort Rentals or Honua Kai) they are starting construction right behind the unit, which didn't bother us at all during our stay, but it's pretty close to that side of the resort as they get going full bore with the building, I can imagine it will get a little noisy back there. We absolutely plan on staying at Honua Kai again and would book with Maui Resort Rentals again anytime.

We had a fantastic vacation, suite 932 was perfect for our family. The staff was great.

The suites had ample room for 5 adults and 2 toddlers. Pool area and Duke’s were perfect for our stay. Excellent barbecue area as well.

Great resort and unit!

We visited Maui with 4 adults (two parents and two adult children). The extra room in the 2 bedroom unit was a nice change versus all having to share one hotel room (and one bathroom). The Honua Kai is a great resort...nice pools, beach, restaurants, etc. The unit was outstanding...very clean and all the furniture seemed new. It was a big help having the washer and dryer in the unit so that we did not have to pack so many clothes. We could not really see much of the ocean from this unit, but the views of the mountain were excellent...very nice scenery. The Times grocery is walking distance across the road, and also some nice restaurants close by. We would definitely stay here again!!!
