Dimokritos Villas is a complex of six Villas - each of them with separate facilities and private pools - beautifully appointed in the Cretan country side, offering magnificent views of the surrounding area, the nearby hills, as well as the sea at the horizon.

Dimokritos Villas are just 3 km away from the picturesque settlement and the sandy, organised beaches of Geropotamos, ideal for family holidays! Also, a selection of cafes, tavernas, gift shops, mini markets and ATM machine are available in Panormo. Also, for those who enjoy hiking there is a country path of 1,5 km leading to Panormos, but it’s advisable to cross it only by day!

Layout
Dimokritos Villa I is a 100 m2 Villa, consisted of two levels, which can accommodate up to 8 guests in it’s 3 bedrooms. The Villa is tastefully decorated with furniture of modern design, chosen carefully in order to make your self-catered vacation as easy and comfortable as possible!

Ground Floor
As you enter the Villa you will find yourselves in a lovely open-plan space, featuring the living room with an open fireplace and two cosy sofas, where two guests can be accommodated. The fully equipped kitchen with a dining area is right next to the living room, so the whole family can spend some time together, while relaxing or preparing your meals! Both the living room and kitchen areas offer direct access to the shaded veranda, swimming pool and lawn covered terrace. Additionally, one of the Villa’s bedrooms, boosting a double, is located on the ground floor, along with a family bathroom with a shower.

First Floor
A few steps above, the remaining two bedrooms of Dimokritos Villa I can be found, each one with two single beds. In one of the bedrooms the two beds can also be used as a double bed. All bedrooms and the living room are air-conditioned and are airy and sunny all day long. Both bedrooms open up to a large veranda equipped with patio furniture, overlooking the pool terrace and enjoying amazing sunset views. Finally, a family bathroom with bathtub is also located on this floor.

Exterior
Moving outdoors, a magnificent 200m2 outdoor area welcomes you and invites you to to indulge in the summer breeze, hot sun and enjoy the pleasures of summer, under the clear blue skies! The private swimming pool 1.5 meters deep has a special compartment for kids 0.4 meters deep and it is 35m2 in total and it’s equipped with sun beds and umbrellas, so you can spend as many hours as you wish out in the open! Additionally, the outdoor BBQ facilities and the dining and sitting area, will tempt you to try your cooking skills and al fresco dining! To make things even better, our young guests will love the large lawn covered area with a garden swing, keeping them busy and happy!

Location Overview
Dimokritos Villas are located close to the village of Aggeliana, 5 minutes away by car, where guests can find a super markets taverna a cafe as well as a bakery. The sandy beaches of Geropotamos are just 5 minutes away from the villa by car.

Also Panormo, is a friendly sea side village, just 10 minutes away by car and well known for its sandy beaches. The two main beaches are Limanaki and Limni. Both of them are sandy with clear blue water and ideal for kids, as they are shallow and well protected from winds. The beaches are organised and equipped with sun beds & umbrellas. Water sports are also available. The harbour beach in front of the village is the port of the area, where the boats tie up, this beach is unorganised.

The village has all the facilities and amenities one would need : well-stocked mini-markets, post office, pharmacy, a doctor’s office, a butcher's shop, bakery (hot, fresh bread every morning from 9 am), various gift shops and traditional seaside shops at very reasonable prices.

Further, there is a good selection of cafes and excellent traditional tavernas, overlooking the harbour and the sea, which offer a warm welcome and a beautiful setting to enjoy some traditional Cretan food, fish as well as international dishes.

Panormo has regular bus itineraries every 30 minutes that connects Heraklion and Chania cities.

Wonderful villa perfect for a family holiday!

Lovely villa with plenty of room for everyone. Lovely pool very much appreciated in the heat for a cool down, with great bbq area that was well used for sunset meals. Location was quiet, I would recommend a car to explore the island and experience some of the beautiful beaches. We would definitely come back again.

Just Perfect!

We had the most wonderful time at Dimokritos Villa. Nothing was too much trouble for either the villa owner or management company. It’s set in a lovely garden with great views and has everything you need to have a totally relaxing holiday.

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful 12 night stay at Dimokritos Villa 1. On arrival, the owner was there to meet us with a welcome snack and home made wine and the villa was spotlessly clean. Throughout our stay the family were on hand attending to the villa and grounds and bringing guests delicious home made Cretan specialties such as stuffed vine leaves and home grown watermelon and home made feta. The nearest main town , Panormo, was lovely with a beach and plenty of shops and tavernas to visit but a car is necessary to get there from the villas. I would highly recommend these villas to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in the Cretan countryside.

Fabulous

We had such a lovely time we have booked to go back next year. If you like a more remote peaceful holiday this is perfect. All the villas are beautiful, well kept and the owners are on hand all the time. Such lovely people, they can’t do enough for you. Beautiful views of olive farm land. We were a mix of two families with a teenager and a infant. Villa was perfect. You need to hire a car to get around but loads to explore locally. Can’t wait to go back again next year

Wunderbarer Rückzugsort ideal für junge Familien

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen, die Unterkunft bot uns alles was wir uns wünschen konnten. Gerade mit kleineren Kindern, die noch einen Mittagsschlaf machen ist man zeitlich nicht so flexibel. Hat man jedoch vieles wie einen Pool, Grill oder eine große Terrasse mit Garten vor Ort kann man den Urlaub unbeschwert genießen. Ein Mietwagen ist zwar Pflicht, aber dann hat man die Wahl ob man sich selbst versorgen möchte oder doch ins Restaurant möchte. Die netten Gastgeber sind wahre Schätze, sind manchmal in der Nähe für einen kurzen Plausch und sorgen sich, dass alles vorhanden ist.

Absolut zu empfehlen

Tolles und sehr sauberes Haus, alles haben wir so vorgefunden wie im Inserat beschrieben. Poppi und Manolis sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Einzig die Wegbeschreibung ist ausbaufähig, der direkte Weg von Panormos aus führt über eine schwer passierbare Schotterstraße, besser weiter auf der Schnellstraße bleiben und von der Shelltankstelle aus abbiegen. Dieser Weg ist aber nicht beschildert. Mit Manolis Hilfe haben wir es aber auch spät abends gefunden.

Traumhaft in sehr ruhiger Lage

Zunächst ist zu sagen, dass man nicht komplett alleine ist auf dem Areal. Es sind insgesamt 6 Villen - drei in jeder Reihe. Der Blick ist toll auf die Berge und in der Ferne das Meer. Wir sind fantastisch aufgenommen worden am ersten Abend. Manuel und seine Mutter sind super liebe Gastgeber. Wir sind spät angekommen und uns wurde Abendessen gebracht und im Kühlschrank waren Wasser und alles für ein kleines Frühstück für den nächsten Morgen. Auch zwischendurch gab es immer mal etwas frisches aus dem Garten der Mama :) Die Häuser sind super eingerichtet - es ist alles da: Bügeleisen, Toaster, Wasserkocher, Kaffee, Öl..... Unser Haus lag in der 2. Reihe. Die erste Reihe ist wohl erst im vergangenen Jahr fertiggestellt und daher neuer. Ein wenig merkt man langsam die Jahre anhand loser Fensterlädenhalterung oder der Bretter rund um den Pool. Dies ist aber insgesamt nicht abträglich. Wenn Ihr von Heraklion kommt, nehmt unbedingt die zweite Zufahrt links gegenüber der Shell Tankstelle. Google wollte uns vorher abbiegen lassen - hier handelt es sich dann aber um eine reine Schotterpiste - kaum zu bewerkstelligen. Man muss wissen, dass es von der Villa nur per Auto in die nächsten Lokalitäten geht. Dafür sind die Häuser zu abgelegen. Dafür wird man morgens und generell aber mit herrlicher Ruhe und Ziegenglocken belohnt. Wir haben es sehr genossen. Geht unbedingt in die Taverne Roumeli. Hier ist ein toller Wirt der sämtliche Sprachen spricht ein super Koch und Gastgeber. Der Blick über die Olivenbäume ist fantastisch. Zweiter Tip: In Rethymno unbedingt ins Cafe lemon tree - noch nie so gut gegessen... Zum Abschluss noch ein Wort zur Betreuung durch die Verwaltung Valia Kokkinou. Vom ersten Tag der Buchung bis heute (ich hatte was vergessen was mir geschickt wird) ist die Betreuung wirklich fantastisch. Es wird immer wieder gefragt ab alles in Ordnung ist, Fragen werden per Mail sofort beantwortet. Man fühlt sich wirklich fantastisch aufgehoben - vielen Dank noch einmal dafür.

Five great big shiny stars!

Outstanding service & hospitality received from both Think Villas and the hosts of Dimokritos Villas. From the moment of booking Valia and her team at Think Villas provide a first class service with quick responses keeping you updated at all times regarding your booking with full directions and helpful recommendations. This really helped to make us relaxed before we had even left home! Throughout our stay any questions, queries or problems we had were dealt with efficiently in a very professional and friendly manner. Popi, Manolis and their lovely family could not have been more hospitable. The villa was spotless with regular cleaning and change of linen, the pool is regularly cleaned and Manolis's lovely mother every few days delivered different small packages of fresh eggs, lemons, oranges, herbs, cheese pastries and the best stuffed vine leaves we tasted on the Island. They always respected our own privacy but were available when needed, nothing was too much trouble even when we locked ourselves out of the villa! Thank you all so much for a fabulous holiday x

Tolle Anlage für Familien- Erholung pur

Wir weilten 10 Nächte mit 2 Kindern im Haus Dimokritos. Die Anlage entspricht dem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Das Haus ist gross und auf zwei Etagen verteilt. Die Zimmer und die Bäder sind sauber. Die Betten sind OK. In der Küche findet man alles für den täglichen Gebrauch. Das Pool ist sauber und passen. Besonders erwähnenswert ist die Freundlichkeit der Familie. Alle sind sehr engagiert und behandelten und höchst professionell. Kleine Abzüge und Informationen für die künftigen Gäste: - unter den drei bestehenden Häusern, wurden drei neue erstellt (befinden sich in der Abschlussphase) - die Bildergalerie im Internet war nicht ganz wahrheitsgetreu. Wir dachten, dass wir unverbaute Aussicht haben, dem ist nicht so. Neue Bilder wurden soeben gemacht und ich denke, dass dieser kosmetische Fehler entsprechend behoben wird. Was wir toll finden, dass die Anlage später ein kleines Restaurant haben wird. Wenn es fertig gewesen wäre, hätten wir uns gerne dort aufgehalten. - Pool; die Holzdielen haben Alterserscheinungen. Hat uns nicht gross gestört, sollte aber bei Gelegenheit ausgetauscht werden

Vacances au calme et dans la nature

Bien placée dans l'arrière pays mais très proche des plages, la villa très récente fait partie d'un ensemble de 6 villas dont certaines sont encore en travaux de finalisation. Un restaurant est aussi en cours de finalisation. Dommage que nous n'ayons pas pu en profiter. Nous étions dans la villa numéro 1, la plus "vieille" semble-t-il. Très peu de vis-à-vis avec les autres villas. La villa est très agréable et bien agencée, la vue est un peu cachée par les 3 dernières villas construites, mais tout de même très belle vue sur la vallée et au loin la mer, ainsi que sur les monts enneigés (en mai). La région est un peu plus envahie de moustiques que lors de notre séjour dans l'ouest, mais heureusement, toutes les fenêtres sont équipées de moustiquaires. Piscine étagée, idéal avec des enfants en bas âge. Proche de belles plages, à 15 ou 30 min selon l'endroit. Pour nous, le must, les pages de Bali. Très proche de Réthymnon (20-30min) qui vaut plusieurs détours. Les propriétaires, très gentils, nous accueillent avec des vivres pour faciliter l'arrivée. La mère du propriétaire qui vit pas loin est très accueillante et est pleine de petites attentions (petits plats traditionnels, fruits du jardins, oeufs frais...). Moutons et chèvres se baladent dans les champs d'oliviers aux alentours, très sympa pour les enfants. Supermarché et petits commerces à 15 min (Perama). Dommage que l'ensemble villa et resto n'ait pas été achevé pour notre séjour, mais beau potentiel pour les saisons à venir. Respectez les consignes données par l'agence pour vous y rendre, les GPS vous guident parfois dans des chemins de terre pas vraiment praticables sans 4x4. L'agence donne aussi pas mal de bon plans sur les alentours.

First the booking agency (Valia Kokkinou) is very professional: friendly contact, quick answers and all necessary information including a description to find the villa (inkl. GPS link). We enjoyed the villa very much. Everything is clean and well appointed. We liked the barbeque and sitting on the balcony at evening dawn (very special colours), The terrasse is nice, too. The bed clothes and shower towels were changed every four days, excellent. Everything is worth it, we can recommend the villa for 100 %. The owners Popi and Manolis were so friendly, thank you very much for everything. Do not miss the Taverna Roumeli, the view is the best we ever had in Greece.

Jolie villa au calme

La villa est très cosy, fonctionnelle et propre. Le chemin pour y accéder est difficile, GPS obligatoire. Accueil très chaleureux avec de la nourriture maison et nous avons eu le plaisir de nous voir offrir plusieurs fois de délicieux fruits, fromages, plats ... Hôtes particulièrement charmants! Il est également très agréable d'avoir déjà des produits de base en arrivant (sel, poivre..., lessive, savon pour les mains et la vaisselle, serviettes en papier, café, confiture, miel...). La villa est indiquée pour 8 personnes mais il n'y a que 6 chaises autour de la table (intérieure comme extérieure) et il y a peu de couverts donc au-delà de 5/6 personnes, ça risque de ne pas aller. Il manque des patères pour accrocher les serviettes de toilette dans les salles de bain et/ou un fil à linge dehors. Le seul petit séchoir pliant disponible est rouillé. La vue n'est pas tout à fait conforme à celle du site car 3 villas sont en construction juste au-dessous du jardin donc la vue est désormais moins dégagée. Néanmoins un très bon séjour très agréable.

wunderschönes Ferienhaus

Das Haus ist sehr schön gelegen und optimal von der Raumaufteilung her, perfekt für 6 Leute. Gut eingerichtet, lediglich Kaffeebecher und Messer könnten mal aufgestockt werden. Super: es gibt Mückengitter vor allen Fenstern und Balkon/Terassentüren! Die Housekeeper Popi und Manolis sind sehr nett, gastfreundlich und hilfsbereit. Leider wird zur Zeit eine Reihe von 3 neuen gleichartigen Häusern gleich unterhalb am Hang errichtet, weswegen uns A) eine Art Tennisnetz die Sicht nach Norden und Osten versperrte und B) zeitweise der Baulärm störte. Insgesamt absolut empfehlenswert!

Alles top!!

Wir haben 2 Wochen in diesem wunderschönen Ferienhaus verbracht. Alles, was man für einen tollen, entspannten Urlaub benötigt, ist da! Gekrönt wird das Ganze noch durch die sehr herzliche, hilfsbereite, super nette Vermieter-Familie, die nicht nur jeden Wunsch von den Augen abliest sondern auch noch durch andere Überraschungen punktet. Lasst euch überraschen. Auf jeden Fall uneingeschränkt, wärmstens zu empfehlen!! Christine und Familie
