Stunning Devon views from this ground floor cottage

Jasmine Cottage has just been fully refurbished and fitted out with new furniture throughout (completed June 2020) and is a new listed property. The cottage has plenty of varied places to relax, with its own garden with unspoiled views across a the Combe Martin valley, which leads down to the sea.
The property is all on the ground level, with a private residence above. As well as the local beach the surfing beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton are just a short drive away.
There is designated parking for two vehicles. We are happy to accommodate well behaved dogs. There are so many stunning walks to choose from to either take you down to the local beach or up onto Exmoor.
The Master bedroom has beautiful views across the valley and is fitted out with a new high quality super king bed, all new furniture, a walk-in wardrobe and fully refurbished en-suite with shower, basin and toilet.
The second bedroom has a new high quality king sized bed with beautiful views across the valley. The third bedroom has two new 3ft wide single beds and a snug with 40 inch TV and beanbags.
There is a newly refurbished family bathroom with a shower bath, toilet and basin. The kitchen has also just been refurbished and fitted out with new appliances and kitchenware including an induction hob. There is a table and benches for eating in the area off of the kitchen which enjoys the valley views.
The lounge area is comfortably fitted out with two large sofas and a TV and there is french windows to open out onto the front of the property.
The walled garden area has ample seating for an outdoor dining experience taking in the beautiful surroundings and valley views.
The local beach is just over a mile away and can be accessed by various interesting paths through the valley. During the mid summer the sun sets in the middle of the bay and this makes for some awesome sunsets!
Along the stretch of high street you can find various shops including a baker and butchers and hairdressers and post office and fuel station as well as five pubs all serving food!

We had a wonderful, conformable and enjoyable stay at the Jasmine Cottage. Checking in was easy, Caroline, the host guided us ovee the phone. Cottage has beautiful views of the valley from bedrooms, patio, living and dining rooms. Its 2 minutes drive from the local CoOp supermarket and 5 minutes from the beach and local shops. Combe Martin beaches are lovely as,well as Woolacombe beach and the charming town of Lynton that's 20 minutes drive away. Would definitely come back and explore the area more.

Brilliant stay in mid February

Host were brilliant letting us check in early and letting us know where to go locally for lunch and shops etc. very clean property and roomy. Lovely walks nearby. Everything you need and comfortable. Will definitely return.

Spectacular views over Combe Martin.

Comprehensive directions to the property which we found sparkling clean and spacious. Lovely lounge area with tv and dvd. Great beds and bath/shower rooms. Outside sit around the large garden table with a glass of something and watch the beautiful sunset across the valley.

A lovely property in a great location

Warm.welcome on check in with a box of chocs too. Great peaceful location. Access lanes a challenge but wprth the effort. Village had 2 great pub restaurants we ate at very warm and friendly. Great base to go explore devon. Will be back.

Excellent, fitted the bill perfectly

The directions were excellent and the property was spotless upon arrival. Lovely location with superb views and very peaceful. Very evident that the property has been recently updated to a very high standard with all the amenities you need, and although we only used the main bedroom, the other 2 are a very good size. Ideal location for the various activities and places to visit. Would highly recommend.

Good location to visit the nearby coastal attractions. Spacious. Well equipped kitchen. Great views from the dining area and outdoor seating area. Good internet. Possibility for later checkout was welcome. Useful local information guide. A bit of noise due to foot movement from the upstairs property but you get used to it. The humidifiers nicely cooled the property as it was quite hot outside when we visited. Silvermine (next door) is worth a visit if you can arrange it. Recommend lunch/dinner at Storm In a Teacup at nearby Watermouth Bay, a beach day at Putsborough beach and a visit to Lynton/Lynmouth.

Well tended and reasonably stocked with basics. Would have liked some toiletries in the bathrooms tho - there wasn't even a bar of soap. Having said that, the rental was very cheap and so overall it was very good value for money

Lovely cottage

Lovely cottage with beautiful views of Combe Martin. Spotlessly clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Few lovely touches like chocolates on arrival, milk in the fridge and biscuits for the dog!! I saw a few reviews before we came about how treacherous the driveway was leading up to the cottage but it really wasn’t that bad just make sure you have your trainers with you and wellies in the winter as it is rural but that’s why it’s so peaceful. Fabulous week would highly recommend.

Lovely stay

Cottage as described. Very clean and helpful hosts making check in straightforward Huge comfortable Bed in the main bedroom and new looking bathroom en suite. Well Equipped kitchen and nice little garden and patio area. Walks right from the door up to the coast or through into town. Nearest pub about 10 minutes away on foot. The cottage is On a hillside and access is via a fairly rough unpaved road - not a problem, but just to be aware of, particularly if returning after dark. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return both to Combe Martin and Jasmine Cottage

Little Piece of Heaven

We stayed at Jasmine Cottage for a little over a month and we absolutely fell in LOVE! The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. The beds were incredibly comfortable. John and Caroline were very responsive if we needed anything, as they were right upstairs and very friendly. We were able to park right in front kd the door, which made it easy to bring in groceries etc. Did we get a little lost finding it in the dark? Yes we did but it was our own fault that our phones were not charged and we couldnt read the directions they has provided, but I'm almost glad we got there in the dark because it made the next day's reveal of the view that much more spectacular! The views of the valley were incredible and the area was just heavenly. We cant wait to come back!

Not the best place to stay if you are disabled

We did not enjoy our stay. We could not drink the the water as it tasted of metal, when I asked the home owner they just said boil it ,We had done this and we were all very poorly ,we ended up buying water to drink and to cook with.. my mother needed to use a buggy but we could not get out of the cottage as the road was very steep and unpaid, Witch was a shame but not the end of the world. I asked for a foot stool for my mother and was told yo use a small table that was to hard and far to high when you had a pillow on it. The noise from the people up stairs was bad at night time with the floor making a noise and the doors banging. Not the relaxing holiday we had hoped for.

Lots of space for 4 adults and well furnished. Missing finishing touch ie, arrival basket of goodies. Good base for exploring local area.

lovely property with a big but!

a lovely property in a beautiful location ,with stunning views. owner advised us their son had a cough and his room was above our lounge unfortunately he didnt tell us he also had lead feet and stomped around his room every afternoon and evening , so we would not consider renting this property again.
