Apartment Paulina is our guests favourite apartment due to it's terrace and location. Our management team meet and greet you on arrival, they also offer inexpensive airport transfers which allow for hassle free arrival and check in.

This top floor penthouse apartment with a 4 star rating from the Croatian Tourist Board offers stunning views and is situated in an excellent location on Ciovo. 250 meters to beach/restaurants, all amenities close by, just a few mins walk. The apartment is furnished to a high standard. Fresh towels and linen are provided for guests. The entertainment area consists of a 32' smart TV with free Nextflix account DVD player, satellite TV, CD/radio player. A detailed CD collection is available for guests to use while staying in the apartment. The penthouse has the added advantage of having a large terrace area (23m2) and comprises of two loungers to sunbath on. A large table with four big chairs and cushions (chairs also go back into a lounger position) You are in walking distance of all amenities. You are a few minutes from restaurants, the local market, the beach and the taxi service etc. Hob/stove, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, iron/ironing board, free parking.

We offer a number of properties on Ciovo, 250 meters from the sea. Our management meet and greet you on arrival. We can offer transfers from the airport and can arrange tours in the area (with collection and drop off to the apartments - no need for you to arrange at tourist office). We love to help our guests plan memorable holidays and have been doing so since 2003, get in touch today.

Lovely week with all we needed

Nice apartment. Amazing view from the balcony. Great host too. Local area provides lots of eating and shop options, plus regular boats to take you to some stunning places. Three very nice beaches just a short drive away. Will come back.

Ciovo is a beautiful spot for a beach holiday.

The apartment was superb, we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. It had the most stunning terrace overlooking the Adriatic sea. We would have bit of breakfast and coffee here each morning, sunbathing on the loungers and late morning we would head for a swim on the nearest beach which is only a few minutes walk awat. Restaurants and bars are within 100 meters and Trogir by boat is just gorgeous with taxis boats going from the end of the road.

A Super Holiday

We had an amazing stay at Apartment Paulina in July 2024. The terrace and views are just stunning. We spent so much time there and was just amazing views and sun all day. Apartment has everything we could have needed and more. Lovely beds, great kitchen, excellent Wi-Fi , air con, Netflix, games etc. great to have washing machine also. The beach is a 3 min walk , with nearest restaurant, Marineo , great pizzas and La vela, really nice also. A few more minutes walk along the beach which is so safe are several more cafes, bars restaurants, we ate at Leonardo,s , Rarita, TOC, Ciao Ciao, all brilliant. Got the water taxi to Trogir a few times from the beach , a brilliant service and what a fab way to see this beautiful place. 5 euros each way, goes every hour from 5 pm to 10pm. The most relaxing holiday we have had in a long time and even with 2 teenagers , was plenty for them to do. Alison was so helpful with everything before and during our stay. We will be back for sure, so much more to see and do in this wonderful place.

Wonderful View and Close to the Beach!

This little apartment is only a short walk to a really lovely beach with nice small white pebbles and wonderful swimming. Wear water shoes to walk into water! There are lots of great restaurants that are close by. Alison gave some great recommendations. There is free parking at the premises. The balcony is large and so lovely in the sun and in the evening as well. Beautiful view of the water and neighboring island. The apartment was clean and had all the useful things needed like iron, kitchen utensils/spices, towels, etc. The building itself is a little run-down, but the apartment is clean and comfortable. Don't leave the doors windows open at night because there are mosquitos! The air conditioning work great!! We had a fun time in this area as this location is close to lots of activities/places including the national parks, Togir, Split, boat tours, etc. David, the manager, met us and helped us find the place and was very kind and helpful. Thank you!

Great apartments, location, area, people + weather

I rented an apartment from Alison in June and had such a good time that, when the opportunity arose, I returned in September. It was as enjoyable as the first trip and it felt different as the tourist season was coming to an end. We were more adventurous this time and went for drives in the mountains, lovely walks, found new (hidden) beaches and visited Krka National Park. Behind the apartments there’s a quiet road that leads to the most spectacular beach and private coastline. This was only a 15 minute walk along a residential road and the locals seemed to be the only ones who knew the beaches. We travelled 1hr to Krka National Park and swam in the lake at the giant waterfall which was amazing! We had packed a lunch because the restaurants there can be busy and expensive. The walk to the waterfall was spectacular and the 2km journey takes a long time because you have to stop to appreciate the views so often. The city of Split is 50 minutes away by car so we rented a hotel room and explored the gorgeous city over 2 days. The old town has a clock tower that can be climbed and there are traditional Klappa singers in the square entertaining passers bye. The tours of the castle and dungeons are worth a visit and the shopping district in the new town is very tempting. The apartment is in the most suitable location directly opposite a local beach and 5 minutes walk to restaurants, beach bars and a taxi-boat to Trogir. The Croatians are available to help when looking in shops but they are not “pushy” or rude if you don’t want to make a purchase. Overall I found Ciovo an ideal base to explore Croatia or to relax and Alison is great to deal with. She’s quick to respond to any query and gave me a list of useful phone numbers, restaurant recommendations, taxi information, directions to the apartments etc. I felt that it was very important to Alison to know that her guests feel secure, comfortable and enjoy their stay, and I did just that! I’m booked in for July 2016 already :) roll on!

Good location in need of modernization

The good: From the first contact attempt, Alison has been ever so quick to respond and answer any question we have had. The location of the apartment was 5 minutes’ walk to the beach (once you identify the most direct routes) and there are a couple of restaurants just down the road. The other restaurants were not too far to walk to (even with a 5 year old), again, after you are familiar enough with the 3 optional roads. The air condition system in the living room kept the apartment, including the 2 bedrooms, well cooled. The supermarket just down the road was handy for grabbing water / milk / beer etc. (and it does take credit cards, which is NOT obvious, as we have found out quite quickly). Kitchen was equipped for cooking and eating in, which we did do on a couple of nights. Washing machine was also useful for washing beach towels. The not so good: While the apartment is comfortable, we felt it could really use some TLC and update. The shower is very small and creaky, with exposed wires seen from the ceiling of the bathroom. The kitchen sink tap was so loose it could only be used with 2 hands, one holding the faucet and the other moving the tap. While we appreciate this is a self-catering apartment, we found the lack of cleaning equipment (even a j-cloth and bin bags) a bit remiss - as it should be in the interest of the owner / managing company to keep the place clean. Arriving by plane means we are limited, as it is, with the amount of luggage we can carry. Spending 10 days in the apartment (with a young child) meant we did want to do some cleaning every now and again. However, it was expected for us to take care of purchasing cleaning materials; fine if you are staying a month or two but not really for a short stay. This is something that we have been provided with on every other holiday apartment rental we have had. The TV in the apartment was really quite out of date and lacked an HDMI port to connect any of our own devices (ie a tablet). The satellite box does not broadcast any English channels as far as we managed to see so we simply so we did not use the TV. The welcome manual really needs an update - we were looking to hire a car and the info in it contains information from 2007... so it has been a while since it has been put together. There was a distinct lack of information about practical issues such as which bins to use, how to recycle or return bottles, how to use the TV system, etc.

Thanks to our guest for the review and we are delighted to hear you had a great holiday. Our properties are self catering. But we do provide j cloths, sponges, wash brushes, washing liquid and detol spray. As well as fresh linen and bath towels. There is hand wash in the bathrooms. If you need anything there is a small market just 1 minute away and has all you may need for great value. We have upgraded our TVs and the welcome pack. Some of the info in the welcome pack is still relevant from years ago ie. police numbers, hospital, car hire companies. We also send some detailed info to all our by email prior to arrival - all relevant and our guests welcome it as it provides all practical info you need. Ferienwohnung mit toller Aussicht aber verbrauchtes Interieur

Zuerst die positiven Punkte: Sehr schöne Aussicht von der Dachterrasse. Gute Lage für Erkundungen auf der Insel. Kurze Wege zum Strand. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in nur kurzer Entfernung. Kfz-Stellplatz direkt vor dem Objekt. Verbesserungsbedürftige Punkte: Die Ferienwohnung mit ihrer Ausstattung ist ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. Bei den Vermietungspreisen sollten diverse Teile ersetzt oder renoviert werden. Es gab einen von vier Terrassenstühlen, der kaputt war. Ebenso die Auflagen zu diesen Stühlen. Diese waren alle aufgerissen und verschmutzt. Die Schranktüren der Miniküche bleiben nicht geöffnet. Hier sollten die Scharniere repariert oder erneuert werden. Es gibt sehr wenig Stauraum insbesondere für den Küchenbereich. Der Hauseingang liegt auf der Landseite. Diese Seite des Objektes ist nicht ansehnlich! Überall ist Müll/Schrott entsorgt, der nicht weggeräumt wird. Alte Stühle und Geröll liegen rum. Es ist eine Waschmaschine vorhanden, allerdings sollte man dabei bleiben während des Waschvorgangs, da diese nicht fest installiert ist und sich somit bewegt. Das Geschirr war nicht ordentlich gespült. An Gläsern waren immer noch Spuren / Abdrücke vorhanden. Das Doppelbett ist vermutlich auch kaputt, da zum Stützen ein Blumenkasten untergestellt wurde??? Wir haben das nicht näher untersucht. Man kann wahrscheinlich mit ein paar kleinen Investitionen das Objekt enorm auffrischen.

Eine wunderschöne Zeit!

Wir haben unseren Urlaub in dieser Wohnung sehr genossen.. Platz genug für uns alle,samt Hund. Sehr gut ausgestattet mit allem was frau braucht. Am schönsten ist die Dachterrasse mit einem traumhaften Ausblick. Der Strand auch zu Fuß gut zu erreichen. Die Umgebung, Trogir, Split, andere Strände und die Sehenswürdigkeiten eine Autofahrt wert. Für die kids ist auch jede Menge geboten. Die Nachbarn waren sehr freundlich und der Kontakt mit der Agentur überaus aufmerksam und unkompliziert. Wir kommen gerne wieder.....

Schöne Dach-Terrasse mit ausgezeichnetem Blick über die Bucht

Alles gut, sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt. Hervorragende Ausstattung mit Geschirr und Küchenutensilien. Gut gelegen zu Ausflugszielen, wenn man mal nicht am Strand liegen möchte.

Balcony is a real asset

Compact but great apartment. The amazing terrace is a real asset with a great view, offering extra space. The apartment is close to a small beach and is within walking distance to the busier beach area where there’s a decent choice of bars and restaurants, as well as a water taxi to Trogir. We were super impressed with all communication with Alison or David before and during our stay.

Wunderschöne große Dachterasse mit traumhaften Blick über die Bucht

Uns hat das Apartment sehr gut gefallen. Einfach unschlagbar, die tolle Dachterasse mit der komfortablen Ausstattung. Auch das Apartment war gut ausgestattet. Bettwäsche, Handtücher (sogar wöchentlicher Wechsel) , Toilettenpapier und Reinigungsmittel - alles inklusive. Toller Service! Selbst ausreichend Gewürze waren in der Küchenzeile zu finden. Der Kontakt mit Alison war von Anfang an sehr nett und alle Fragen wurden prompt beantwortet. Vielen Dank, Alison, für zwei Wochen in deinem schönen Apartment.

Great apartment and location

Process was simple and easy to book with communication. Apartment has very good size bedrooms and spacious balcony. 3 minutes walk to local beach, 5/10 minutes walk to main beach with bars/restaurants/harbour.

We fell in love with Croatia - excellent apartment

We rented two of Alison's apartments - Paulina and Ellie as we had a family celebration. The apartments we really clean, well equipped and being next door to each other meant we had our privacy as well as the convenience of being close by for dinners etc. Alison was great and booked us a restaurant in Trogir for my Mam's 60th. We ate in TRS and it was the perfect place for it, the courtyard is surrounded by grape vines and beautiful decor. The apartment is in an excellent location and it's walking distance to all amenities. The beach is about a 3 minute walk. We will most likely return and would recommend this place (area and apartments) to others. Thanks for a great stay.

Stunning Views and Wonderful Apartment

Overall we recommend this apartment for it's location and the FAB large terrace with stunning views. We had a wonderful stay in Penthouse Paulina. We have stayed in one of Alison's apartments before and looked forward to experiencing another part of Ciovo island. The view from Paulina is truly unbelievable, even better than the pics, plus it is HUGE!! Two loungers and a large table with chairs. The apartment has everything you need for an enjoyable stay, all mod cons, well equipped, dvd's, games etc. We will be back again. Thanks again to Alison and the rest of the team....

Very comfortable, everything you need!

I have been to Croatia for the last 4 years and have been a returning customer of ARC for the last 3 years. We were a group of 2 couples, no children and we stayed in apartment Paulina in early October for 1 week. The apartment is as pictured, very clean, well stocked with kitchen essentials and all mod cons, excellent wifi, smart tv and very comfortable to stay in. The balcony is a great feature as we were not in such a rush to go to the beach to sunbathe when we could lie out on the balcony with plenty of privacy and sun. However, the beach is beautiful and is less than a 5 minute stroll so we enjoyed relaxing there occasionally. The beach restaurants are a nice place to go for lunch, we went to Leonardo’s restaurant a lot for dinner and also went into the local old town of Trogir for it’s charm. There is a beautiful coastal walk with swim areas about 15 minutes behind the apartment which we walked regularly as the scenery and residential area is breathtaking. There is so much to explore in this region and Okrug is a great location to use as a base. I have already booked with ARC for June 2019 where I intend to sail to Montenegro after my stay in Okrug.

Excellent location and stunning terrace

This was an airy and well equipped apartment just a few minutes stroll from a fairly quiet gravel beach. The apartment was spotlessly clean and we were welcomed warmly on arrival. We had a wonderful week.here, We ate out each evening - there was a good choice of local restaurants but on four nights we took the water taxi to Trogir. Trogir was lovely - a maze of tiny streets filled with cafes and restaurants and great ice cream shops! I highly recommend booking a sea kayaking trip with Falco tours based in Trogir (find them on the internet or ask at Tourist office). We had a full day trip kayaking 7 km to a nearby island and back. The kayaks and other equipment were very good, our guides were highly experienced and all necessary safety equipment was provided. I would recommend this apartment if you want a peaceful holiday in a pleasant resort surrounded by other similar-minded holidaymakers. Although there were plenty of lively bars (if you wanted them) there was no evidence of drunkeness or bad behaviour. This is a great choice if you do not want to hire a car as it is only a 15 minute taxi ride from Split airport and the water taxi to Trogir runs every 15 minutes and is cheap.

Perfect Spot to Explore, Very Comfortable Property

This was our second stay at Penthouse Paulina. Another great stay in a place we think we'll come back to again and again. Alison was always prompt to reply to any queries we had and even helped us plan some of our trip on each stay. She arranged a pick up from the airport for us with an excellent taxi firm, who we then used for a travelling further a field. The apartment has all you need for an enjoyable stay, fully equipped kitchen, stocked with spices, spacious bedrooms and a comfy living area. The feature of this property has to be the balcony - stunning views of the Adriatic and lovely loungers to relax on. We had our breakfast every morning before heading off for an adventure. Alison and her team have left books, CD's and DVD's to use as well as a ton of games - these were a lifesaver on the one rainy day we had. The kids were happy. It's also nice to see that the TV has been upgraded to a Smart TV and we could watch movies on the free guest Netflix account. The wifi was excellent. Thanks again for a great stay - we know we'll return for a third time!

Not as described .... depresing apartment in a depressing building. Needs thorough refurbishment.

Penthouse Paulina - Bookers Beware! We booked for 11 nights but left after 3. The owner offered alternatives but to be frank if this is representative of the standards of accommodation they describe as luxury then it's a "no thank you!" from us. We are experienced travellers including extensively throughout Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, France) ranging from B&B's to 5 star hotels so I feel qualified to pass an opinion on what constitutes luxury, acceptable and not acceptable in terms of standards of accommodation. This apartment 8B in my view is "not acceptable" and does not warrant even a 2 star rating in it's current state.... a model example of "over promising and under delivering". I don't feel it is beyond redemption and with some care and attention and some modest investment I believe the accommodation could be capable of reaching a 2 or maybe even 3 star level. We did eventually find a previous review of apartment 8B (Paulina) dating back to 2012 which raises many of the same issues we found yet it seems in the six years since then nothing has changed. The bathroom requires modernisation and the shower in particular should be replaced .... it's a horrible experience. There are other issues such as uncomfortable beds and the general drab appearance of the building and surrounding area. Not a good first experience of Croatia but we managed to find alternative modern and reasonably priced accommodation not too far away which in the end salvaged our Croatian holiday or at least the last week of it. I am not generally one for posting negative comments on websites but on this occasion I feel that if I can spare anyone else from wasting their money on this apartment then I should do so.

We welcome this review, however, we are disappointed and would like to take a moment to address some of the issues mentioned. The property is priced as a top floor property that sleeps 4 people, it has air-con units, fans, flat screen TV, wifi, games, dvd, music, washing machine, fridge freezer, BBQ and hot water on demand. The price per person/night is cheaper than a hostel in the area. There is alternative accommodation in the area for higher or lower prices, it is up to the guest to choose the accommodation and budget that suits them. We consider our prices reasonable and fair and our prices are based on guidelines provided by the Croatian Tourist Board, who offer an individual guideline price per apartment after visual inspection. I urge potential guests to look at 1 and 2 star properties in the area and you'll find you'll have no air con, smart tv with guest Netflix account, cd and music collections, games, poker set, large sun trapped balcony, wifi, all mod cons etc. Plus you would not be 300 meters from the beach. I am deeply disappointed with a one star review and feel that it does not honestly reflect our offering. We are very transparent about what we offer, the facilities that are provided, the local amenities, the location of the property are all accurately described on our website. The photographs are accurate. I would advise all potential guests to look at our website and reviews in detail. We are a family run business and over the last 14 years we have had hundreds of families stay with us, overall our rating is 4.7 out of 5. It is very important to us that our guests enjoy their stay and we always welcome feedback and make improvements based on it. We have returning guests every year and have built great relationships with them, which we are very proud of.

Great spot for lasting or adventuring from

Nice clean apartment about 10 minutes walk from the ferry drop point at the beach up a small hill. Apartment well furnished and clean on top floor facing hills no direct view of sea from living room but nice view from balcony across bay. If you want a day on a beach with cafes restaurants bars close by then the beach 10 minutes walk away is ideal. If you want peace tranquility and clear waters for snorkelling walk a kilometre or so up the coast, take a water taxi or a car and you find beautiful deserted bays. It’s a quick ferry ride to Trogir which is great for a wander round the old streets. Take a car ride up and down the coast on the main land or up into the mountains and you are met everywhere with a good Croatian welcome and hospitality. The communication with Alison is excellent all amenities supermarket etc are 10 minutes walk up the hill, leonardo’s restaurant always busy try the under the bell traditional dishes as well as their great pizza. .for taxis and trips we used the little travel agent next to the super market really helpful. If your not driving book a cab to the apartment from the airport as the Split bus takes you away from the Civio though you can use the ferries to get back which is a nice way to arrive at your destination.

Lovely views and balcony area to relax in the sun

The apartment is nicely located a short walk from the main town. All the features you need and very clean. Easy access down to the beach and local bars. Some nice places to eat and drink, though the main beach was too busy for us during the day. Being on the top floor you need to be prepared to carry luggage up a few flights of stairs, but the views are well worth the effort. It was our first time to Croatia, but won't be our last

Highly recommendable!

We stayed at Alison's place for five days and were really pleased. The rooms were clean and tidy. We especially enjoyed sitting on the marvellous terrace. I want to highlight the smooth conversation with Alison, she always reacted very quickly and helpful. She even managed the fact that we forgot some valuable items with a high level of service and competence and handled the transfer to Germany promptly and customer-oriented. Thanks a lot for a very nice vacation! Highly recommendable.
