Mountain retreat

Cute home located up a well maintained mountain gravel road with a beautiful view. House very comfortable and well equipped . All 3 flat screen TVs had roku so we watched a movie every night. Will definitely come back when we are on the area again.

Peaceful mountain view

The property was just as advertised. It was a quiet, peaceful home with a wonderful view. The house is small and cozy. It’s not elaborate or fancy but was perfect for a relaxed mountain get-away. Also, it was extremely clean! The road up to the house was well off the beaten path. We made it fine in a small SUV but the warning to travel in daylight made sense once we arrived!

Relaxing. Well furnished. Cabin is like home. Very comfortable furniture. Downfall: phones advertised. None work. Streets should be better marked. Would go back? Absolutely yes.

this property needs attention

The view is gorgeous. But in reality the property's features, set up and provisioning was kind of hap hazard and like "hey let's rent this place out and make money" attitude. Owners left all their "stuff" in the kitchen, in the bathroom, in the closets, drawers etc. There was no room for my food provisions, kitchen pots, pans, utensils needed thrown away, fire extinquishers empty or recalled, the worse of the worse random and few coat hangers, dressers musty and full of junk, fireplace screen broken, fireplace flue adjuster broken, dusty, dirty, towels so worn they were like sand paper, broom broken, put handles on the kitchen cabinets, no cleaning supplies at all(none), door won't shut, etc And all the money spent on the cameras and Alexis and all the other non essential gadgets but everything else worn and needs disposed of. And directions on how to use the TV, where the recycling facility and just "common sense" stuff would be nice. Had to request info from property management as there was no communication and there was no communication about departure. I didn't ask as it wasn't my job. And in the description it would be nice to know a 4 wheel drive is needed in the winter- I got that info when I had to request info 2 days before checking in. Poor management and poor owner setup.

Charming and Peaceful

This is the third time we have stayed at this property. That in and of itself is a high review. We love the privacy and view from the large deck. From bedrooms to the kitchen to the living room, we enjoy the comfort and hominess of this cottage. It is lovely in all respects. And yes, we do plan on a fourth visit next year.

Well worth it!

The location was a little difficult to get to from the main road, but well worth it. The house was the perfect size for my husband and me, but two more would probably be comfortable., too. The home had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The location is perfect for sightseeing. The quiet there was very relaxing and the views were beautiful in the fall.

Cozy Comfotable Privacy

We have rented a good number of VRBO's over the years but this is one of our favorites. We stayed here two years ago, came back for a second visit and will be returning sometime in the future for a third. It is small (800 square feet) but for my wife, our mini dachshund and me, it is ideal. The two bedrooms have very comfortable beds, the living room has a loveseat and two chairs which are all plush recliners - in fact, my wife wanted to take one of the chairs home with us, it was so comfy, and all across the front of the cabin is a very large deck. The kitchen has all that you need except a dishwasher but since I enjoy hand-washing dishes that is a non-issue. The TV in the living room is a large smart TV with a good number of streaming apps. The cabin has a basement with a washer/dryer and 1/2 bath but not a place to spend any time. This cabin sits at almost 3000 feet in elevation and is completely private - the only other house you can see is on the far mountain about five to ten miles away. We enjoyed immensely sitting on the deck, feeling the cool breeze, looking out over the mountains and watching the hummingbirds dive their feeder. One evening we watched three young raccoons wander across the deck. The road going up to the cabin is paved partway and gravel the rest of the way. It is steep in some areas but we had no difficulty traversing it with two-wheel drive. If you are looking for a fancy wood cabin with vaulted ceilings, a game room and hot tub, this isn’t it but if you want a cozy, comfortable, private hide-away in the mountains than you too, will love this place.

Tough road to a great little cabin

The cabin is comfortable and has a lovely deck with a great view. Hummingbirds visit regularly. If you like peace and quiet, except for the sounds of crickets and falling acorns, this cabin fills the bill. The washer and dryer were not accessible directly from the upstairs but used a separate entrance on the lower-level. I did not use the grill or fire pit. The road up to the cabin is not something I would drive after sunset or in a driving rain. Call me timid.

The View!!

The road to the cabin is 1.5 miles uphill and partially paved but being so high provides the most gorgeous views. The cabin’s furniture is dated but we had WiFi, tons of movies, books and games to choose from. The rental is easy to keep straight and clean. We cooked at home every night taking advantage of Osage Farm in Dillard. The cool weather was a welcomed relief and we enjoyed our stay.

This cabin was beautiful! The views were amazing and the location was perfect. The cabin was comfortable in every way. The only downside to our trip was the weather, it was too warm! Highly recommend this cabin for those who like mountain getaways. Close enough to town for a change of pace but far enoughfor peace and quiet. We brought our 2dogsandtheyloved the outdoors! We would go again.

Awesome cabin, had a great time.

The cabin was very nice. The beds were comfortable. The deck was awesome and the view is amazing. We cooked at least once a day and it was super nice to have a full kitchen including pots & pans and utensils etc... even some spices and things like foil and saran wrap. We were on motorcycles and it would have been nice to be able to park them in the garage but the owner said it's full of stuff. I guess my only real complaint would be that there are cameras literally everywhere outside. Felt like we did not have real privacy in that regard. That was a little weird... but I understand - from the owner's perspective I would want to be able to check on the property/ see what's going on/ have a record if something got damaged. Maybe a note from the owner regarding privacy and the purpose of all the cameras would have been nice. I would absolutely recommend it and hope to stay there again some day.

Breathtaking views from the mountain side!

We stayed 10 days at the Hummingbird cabin, very clean and well stocked kitchen. Plenty of movies, books and games to choose from. Pet friendly and our lab loved exploring the property. Extremely quiet and secluded location and the views from the deck are amazing. If you truly need to get away, this is the perfect place!

Our two week get-a-way

House is very nice. Comfortable, cozy, clean and nicely furnished. We brought many things that we found already there. Everything worked well, a/c, didn't need heat, fridge, washer, dryer, tv. , etc. Fireplace added a great touch. Gravel road a bit rough, but the view made up for it. Would suggest the owner purchases knobs/handles for kitchen cabinets. Also a good reading lamp is needed on rt. side of sofa. All in all, enjoyed our stay very much.

Great view

The cabin is off a gravel road. The deck and the view are beautiful. It’s very quit and peaceful. The listing says no pets but the owners obviously have dogs if you have allergies. The listing says dishwasher but there is not one. The cabin is clean, the linens are well used. The half bath requires a walk outside downstairs and is not working. The laundry also requires a walk outside downstairs. The sunsets were great. There was a wild Turkey Tom on the property a few days and plenty of hummingbirds. Guests must take their trash a few miles down the road to the recycling center or be charged an extra fee. During our visit, the WiFi was out due to a lighting strike and the property manager informed us when we asked and she was able to get it restored on day 5 of our stay.

Cozy Cabin with Great View

We really loved the cabin. We didn't bring a pet, but could see how it would be a great place for a dog as well. The location was fairly central to Franklin and Highlands and there were very nice hiking trails nearby. The view on the patio was every changing with rainbows, clouds, sunrise, and thunderstorms. Very nice!
