Disappointed with Dirty Room

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I was pretty disappointed and disgusted as I kept finding trash around the condo that did not belong to us. An XL pizza box and bottles and cans underneath the master bed. Open bottle of KY Jelly (used, gross) between the pillow and headboard. Oreos and soda bottles between beds in the kids’ room. The cleaning before we arrived must not have been very thorough at all. Definitely the dirtiest condo we’ve stayed in at the Islander, and we’ve been coming for 30 years.

We had a little trouble opening and closing the kitchen drawer to get spoons, forks etc. The beds in the guest room could be replaced. They were a little soft and lumpy.

Beautiful Beach, Spacious Condo, Horrible Beds!

*The condo was very spacious. LOVED having the 2 bedrooms and bathrooms and full kitchen. HOWEVER, the beds are the worst we have ever slept in... EVER! We travel A LOT and they were worse than any hotel or even cruise bed we've slept in. The beach was beautiful, however, there were no restaurants/bars, etc within walking distance. You really had to drive everywhere. I am used to jumping out of the pool or the ocean and walking somewhere for lunch, a drink, etc. We called the resort at 10:30am to let them know that we arrived, and would love an early- check in if possible. They agents were friendly, but I would assume (Working in the travel industry for 15 years) that they would notify housekeeing to clean that room earlier in the day. While check-in is at 3, it isn't guranteed until 5. They called us about 4:00 to let us know that our room was finally ready. At the end of the day- it really depends on what is important to you if this would be a good place. The short walk to the beach was nice but you really have to drive to get anywhere. I don't think I would necessairly stay here again given the very uncomfortble beds and that nothing was really in walking distance. For the price we paid, there was nothing special about this resort. I

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very Disappointed. Had 4 cockroaches. hole in wall on the baseboard when you first walk into the kitchen ( a safe haven for Bugs). The pull out couch you sink when you sit has stains all over the bed no one would sleep on it. The loveseat and chair are dirt and again you sink when you sit. Beds are hard. Some electrical outlets are old where when you plug in your cell charger it falls out. I have stayed at The Islander before ( 7 different condos). 501 was the worst. Never agin would I stay at The Islander.

relaxing vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental experience went smoothly. The unit had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Really like the location and amenities available at the Islander. It would be nice to have some extra beach chairs available in the unit to use since we like to hang out on the beach after the beach service ends for the day or if we have guests staying in the unit with us. The only problem we have encountered not just on this stay but on two other trips is that people smoke out on the balconies even though smoking isn't supposed to be allowed and we have heard dogs barking in units when pets aren't supposed to be allowed. We have reported these things when they have occurred but not sure anything is done about it since it is difficult to know which units the smoking comes from. As a non-smoker it really ruins my time on my balcony when people don't obey the rules.

Family Spring Break

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Islander room 501. The view of the ocean was awesome. We were able to watch a few people surfing and a whole group of dolphins swimming past. The beds were comfortable. It was nice to have two full bathrooms. The kitchen had all the basic kitchen utensils which was handy. The condo has two heated pools, hot tubs, pickleball, tennis, shuffleboard, and a basketball hoop. We brought baseball gloves and a frisbee. There was plenty to do right onsite. The other guests were very friendly and welcoming. We made new friends. Our only recommendation is for the condo association to put together a recycling system. We felt pretty bad having to dispose all the recycling with the garage.
