Our month long vacation rental unfortunately started very rocky. When we arrived at the address we realized this unit was not the unit the agent had sent pictures of for our review before renting. Essentially we were shown a different unit and an error on the part of Stubbs rented us a different unit, one that we were never shown pictures of or a description for. We were understandably upset as the unit we had been shown through email was upgraded and chosen Specifically for certain features. The unit that we were given was not an upgraded unit and we had no profile or information on this unit. I immediately returned to Stubbs And showed Kathy Email evidence that the unit they originally showed us was not the same as the one they rented us . She was apologetic and commented that the woman who handled our reservation usually works in marketing and must have made an error and the unit she sent us pictures of , the agreed-upon unit, was Now rented to other people. She did say we could change properties a week later for an upgraded comparable unit in another development. However traveling with two children and changing arrangements a week later for a month vacation was not appealing. The Next day my husband went to the office to speak with the manager, Debbie, and had a very negative interaction. She was very dismissive and rude saying there was nothing they could do and tried to say that the error was on both parties part? It was very clearly an error on the part of Stubbs And a misrepresentation of the unit they rented us, as they never even sent us pictures of it. While we understand accidents happen the lack of responsibility that Debbie took for the situation and unprofessional attitude was disappointing. As someone in customer service I may have offered the family my Apologies and perhaps a small gesture such as a gift certificate to a nearby restaurant, a reduction in the rent as the unit was not an upgraded unit, etc. But at the least I would have been kind.
