One of the finest examples of a holiday home you will find in York.

Set right in the heart of the city centre, this period property overlooks the iconic Clifford's Tower with spectacular views of this from the living room and master bedroom.

Upon entering from the private entrance on street you will be immediately wowed by the spacious hallway and vibrant colours that really pop. On the ground floor of the property you will find an occasional room that can be used to find a bit of quiet solitude and catch up with a good book. There's a separate dining room with table to seat 8 for dinner. This room also houses a sofa bed for the occasional extra guests. At the rear of the property there is a stunning modern kitchen with great natural light that's been done to the highest standard to include granite worktops and to end fixtures and fittings along with a bistro table and seating for 2. The kitchen features large sliding glass doors that open up onto a private patio area to enjoy the summer evenings. There is also a small wc on the ground floor.

Moving upstairs to the first floor you will find the house bathroom. A simply stunning space that really has the wow factor. With elegant copper touches and a large wet room style shower it really does impress. The main living room is also on the first floor offering comfortable seating and LCD Smart TV. The great thing about this room though is undoubtedly the simply stunning views over Clifford's Tower. Almost unparalleled in York and perfect for a spot of people watching. There is also a double bedroom on this floor too.

On the top floor you will find the spacious master bedroom complete with more stunning views and a shower ensuite that's a shared 'Jack and Jill' bathroom with the twin bedroom on the other side.

Parking is available for 1 car in the council car park just a minutes' walk away.

Lovely Townhouse in central York

Lovely townhouse, kept in good condition. Very suitable for the 5 of us who stayed, loads of room to eat, hang out in. Good location, but only negative is that it can be noisy as the sound comes in very easily from the main street outside.

Christmas break with family

The property was superb. It has been decorated and furnished to a very high standard. It’s very homely and was equipped with everything we needed for a perfect stay. The location is fantastic within a few mins walk of The Shambles and directly opposite Clifford’s Tower.. Wish we had stayed longer, would definitely book again.

The house was as described excelent location very well equiped ,perhaps a little more storage in the second bedroom. The central heating insruction would have been usefull as the kitchen was very cold on or arival and took 24 hours to warm up

Post Christmas visit

Very nicely renovated historic property. Fantastic for a family getaway after Christmas. Easy access in to the town center. Plentiful hot water. One observation is that the kitchen was cold/drafty and as we visited in winter this was particularly noticeable. The door to the main bathroom doesn’t close properly but did not impair our usage of the bathroom. Overall a wonderful stay!

Beautiful design but not very functional

The house was beautifully designed visually. It came with a lovely gift basket of food. The beds are comfortable. Most appliances worked. The tower warmers did not hit up. There were no luggage racks. The bathtub was dirty. There is no place to put your bathroom stuff down, no countertopor shelf. The stairs are very steep and you have to be careful going around the corner because it's very easy to trip, which I did. The living room chairs and sofas are all too deep so when you sit back your feet dangle above the floor.

Fantastic location & great for a place to rest

Excellent location & a great apartment. The livingroom, kitchen & bedrooms are all nicely decorated & decent sizes, plus we had the added bonus of a courtyard. The smart TV runs Netflix, Prime & Disney+ so that kept our little one happy when we were back at the apartment. The kitchen is nicely laid out & has all the utensils you’d expect at home. The only downside being the main bathroom door has warped to the point it wouldn’t close meaning we couldn’t use the bath, shower or toilet in there (we emailed Stays York on the day we arrived so hopefully this will be fixed soon). The apartment is a tad warm but there is an AC unit in the master bedroom which somewhat helped. The apartment is a very short walk from the main shops which is convenient when you just want to pop out. Overall, we had a lovely time & will look at booking again when we come back to York.

Amazing location, beautiful house

Loved staying on gorgeous Clifford Townhouse for the weekend. The house itself is in the most perfect location, slap bang in the middle of the city. The kitchen was well equipped and on a lovely the day the courtyard makes this a great house to entertain in. Super clean and overall comfortable. It’s a great shame they didn’t put a sofa bed in the front room as this was not really used. It was make a great additional Room to sleep in as there is no dining table in there. Top floor bedroom was horribly hot. Only a fan and some sort of air filter but this was no match for some fresh air - sadly though due to windows in this room not opening we sweated out way though the weekend. A bedroom needs ventilation so this was disappointing. All the other rooms gorgeous and overall fantastic stay. Would go back. Thank you

Short of Expectations

Great location!! 3 week stay. However, there were a few things that left us disappointed for a luxury property. The beautiful bathroom that is showcased was unusable the whole time. The bathtub would not hold water and the toilet handle was falling off. A maintenance person came out and had to order the parts that would arrive after we left. Overall cleanliness could have been better. A chair that was not assembled properly fell out from under me, hit my head on a door and lost a tooth the next day. Was not told about a 1030 curfew (not posted in site property guide, sign on sliding glass door says turn out lights when you go to bed - no time stated specifically but does mention problem with neighbors). Neighbor would harass us for sitting in the garden after 1030 even with the lights off. It got so bad I threatened to call the Police if he didn't stop. So we didn't use the back porch for the last 10 days after 1030. VRBO on line says enjoy the summer evenings in the back garden, not mentioning 1030 curfew because of ugly neighbor. The neighbor called the property management and complained about us, oh brother! (we are senior citizens, no music, no loud anything but just having quiet conversation in the garden. The dude is mental-not our fault). The property management called us to inform us of the neighbors complaint. They said manager would call us on Monday, did not. Asked that I send an email complaint to counter, I didn't. Doubt ugly neighbor sent an email.

Great Location in York!

We spent 4 nights at this property and it was great. The location is perfect for seeing the city, the views of Clifford’s Tower are superb, and the outdoor patio is a real plus. We had a few questions and the management company was quite responsive. Due to the unusually warm weather, the upstairs bedrooms were warm. We called for some fans and they brought them right over. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we weoukd recommend this property.
