    Gourock Apartment

    This is a great location with beautiful views. It is close to a nice pub and a short walk (1/2 mile) to several other restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, stores and a train station. I would stay there again.

    Arrived late in the day. Unloaded the luggage into the apartment and left to park my vehicle. Returned to my family wide eyed, saying that we can't stay here. The place smelled of mold and mildew. The washing machine had mold in it. Some of the windows had mold and water damage around them. There was mold in one of the showers and the baseboards were falling off. The smoke detector down the hall outside of the bedrooms was missing. The light fixtures were all covered in dust and spider webs and half of the bulbs in them were missing or burned out. the freezer needed defrosted 5 years ago. The drawers almost frozen shut. Left over condiments and food in the fridge and freezer. The patio furniture was rusty and looked like if you sat on it you would break it. We had been travelling all day and resigned ourselves to sleeping the night. My kids wanted to sleep in the van. We left the next morning early and contacted the host informing them that we won't be staying here any longer while mentioning the issues we had. Originally the host was apologetic and offered us a full refund, but then he changed his mind once he realized he was the one to authorize it. We ended up booking a hotel 45 mins away and had to change our travel plans to suit that. Plus the additional costs of off site laundry and extra meals that we couldn't cook for ourselves was unfortunate. To be advertising this as a "beautiful" apartment is such a misrepresentation of the word.

    Beautiful apartment, everything we needed close to hand

    Myself and my 2 boys had a lovely stay. The kids loved the 'thunderbirds' garage and I liked that I could unpack the car in the dry. Beautiful apartment, very comfortable beds . Great shower and bath. Fully fitted kitchen. The owner was very helpful and easy to contact. I'd definitely recommend. Thank you.
