Very nice house with lots of charm, even though it is a little out-dated. Easy access to the free bus shuttle. Was a nice, quiet place next to the bird sanctuary and a cemetery. Nice outdoor patio area in the back. Really appreciated the flexibility to store our luggage/ check in a little early too!

The landscaping is a mess. The bushes have grown to cover all the windows in front so there’s no light in the house and it smells musty. You would not want to sit in the backyard. The inside is very dated and the upholstered furniture was old and needs to be replaced. This house should not be rented as is.

We had a great stay at Robert’s place. He was a very accommodating host and was easy to communicate with. The house was in a great location and allowed us to walk into town. Would recommend this place to anyone.

A charming, comfortable and commodious cottage. Nicely decorated. Well-equipped kitchen. Adjacent to a nature preserve with walking trails. It’s a long walk into town but Uber arrived almost instantly throughout the weekend. We highly recommend a stay at this property.

Nantucket house near bird sanctuary

Great place, easy to get to and the host is very easy to deal with. This was our second year renting this house and will be back next year.

Beyond what I expected!

The photos don’t do this place justice - so much space and place for a comfortable stay. My friends and I stayed for two nights and very much enjoyed our stay! Would absolutely stay again.

Nice place middle island

Very nice home, under a mile from town center. Clean, relaxed, very nice place. Only drawback was next to hospital, so rare helicopter arriving.

Great house, yard, and location!

The house was great, the kids loved the big back yard!! The path to get to town was right outside the back door. Neighbors the the hospital (on the other side of a huge field), which ended up being convenient when we needed to run to the ER but never heard an ambulance or any noise from there. Robert was really easy to work with too.

Disappointed

We had such high hopes staying here. Location was not as close to town as described. Especially if you have kids, it’s a long walk through narrow one way streets. We ubered the majority of the time and spent way too much money doing so. House is also on a very busy street, cars racing by. Area stores and restaurants that were within somewhat walking distance were not very comfortable as the class of people coming in and out made us a feel a little unsafe. Construction going on two houses down so it was loud. Gas grill was filthy and looked like it hadn’t be cleaned in years. It really should have been ready to use right away, instead we spent the first afternoon scrubbing and cleaning it so it was usable. Patio furniture was pretty sad looking. Patio was not a very comfortable place to sit as the yard needs to be manicured and trees should be cut back. Back yard is private except people do walk on the path to the left of the house. Bathrooms weren’t great or clean feeling. No water pressure in shower. Upstairs bathroom had a leaky toilet so floor and rugs were always wet. Looks like they had previous water issues from toilet as kitchen ceiling was cracking and had water dripping in spots at times. Owner was responsive and apologetic the first night we arrived after pullout couch was in filthy condition from not being cleaned (dead bugs and dirt/dust) Upstairs queen bed super uncomfortable, mattress has to be 20+ years old. Not a great few days of sleeping as we had hoped it would be. It could be a budget friendly spot to stay but needs some updates and a thorough deep clean.

Great location, great space, allergy heaven

Although we really enjoy the house itself especially the backyard garden, there was a lot of mold that affected a lot of are allergies. We recommend just a deep clean and this house will be perfect!

The cottage has all of the advantages of being in-town, yet you have the privacy and quite of the conservation area that surrounds the property. You can walk to downtown and all of Nantucket's great restaurants. The conservation area has wonderful hiking paths where you will see all of the native birds. Two cardinals have lived in our hydrangeas for many years. The privet enclosed backyard is private and safe for children with beautiful gardens full of hydrangeas and roses, and sheltered by an antique oak tree.

The cottage is centrally located within the Nantucket Historic District. The Old Mill and other historic sites are nearby. All beaches are easily walked or biked to. The bike path across the street connects with all of Nantucket's wonderful bike paths, making biking all over the island convenient and safe for children and adults alike. While there is off street parking for two cars, a car is not a necessity. Grocery shopping is a short walk. A bus stop is at the end of the street. Nantucket's seasonal bus transportation takes you to all areas of the island like Siasconst and Madaket.
