House in Villetoureix, Riberac, Aquitane, France - Situated on the edge of the village of Villetoureix surrounded by countryside. Wonderfully private.

Le Paillere (The Hayfield) is a great family house with a child friendly garden. It sleeps 12 (max 10 adults), in a beautiful 'Perigourdine' style chalet house which sits in the middle of a secluded south-facing 2 acre garden with private, fenced swimming pool.

There are 5 bedrooms in total. The 2 king-size bedrooms on the ground floor both have French doors that lead onto the patio and garden. The 3 large bedrooms on the first floor all have ceiling fans and are all en-suite: one is a king-size double with dressing area; one a twin with wooden cot; and the third has 2 single beds and a bunk bed. All 5 bedrooms have plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space, with clothes hangers provided. All the beds are comfortable, with top quality mattresses, and duvets & pillows made from hypoallergenic hollow fibre, suitable for people with allergies or asthma.

The large fully accessible ground floor bathroom has a corner bath, walk-in shower and WC, and is ideal for those that are less mobile.

There is a well equipped kitchen plus utility room, which contains everything you need to cater for a large group. This includes a range with 2 ovens, grill, and 7 hobs, plus a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, 2 fridges and a freezer compartment.

The open plan dining area has a large oak table that seats 10, and a lounge with log burning stove (for winter guests). Two sets of French doors give access to the terrace and gardens. There is also a separate study room for individual quiet time. Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.

The large terrace/patio has a dining table which comfortably seats 12, along with rattan settees for relaxing. A charcoal BBQ is also available for use.

The location is wonderfully private and quiet, and yet just a few minutes to the Boulangerie. The property is situated on a hill in the small village of Villetoureix about 5 minutes from the market town of Riberac with a large Leclerc supermarket and all the usual shopping facilities. Brilliant market on Fridays with lots of fresh, locally grown fruit and veg.

Brilliant family holiday enjoyed her. The house has everything you could possibly need for a great stay. Lots of parking, very well equipped kitchen and café by the pool. Perfect for our toddlers to run around in and the grandparents to find a quiet spot away from them in the huge garden. Fans provided for the hot weather too.

Fabulous accommodation and location. It was perfect for our three generation family stay in France. My only regret was I only booked one week. Our hosts had thought of everything and the house is nicely decorated, furnished and spotlessly clean. It’s self contained in spacious grounds but really close to all amenities. Everyone said it’s by far the best house we’ve stayed in and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. Great host with really helpful information and prompt response to enquiries. In short this holiday home was faultless.

Such a lovely holiday in a well equipped & homely property in a great location. Lucky to have overall amazing warm weather enjoyed by the pool but with a house easy to keep cool upon an evening. Great restaurants and markets nearby with a helpful owner and informative local housekeeper. To be honest… faultless! Enjoyed by three generations and a dog throughout. Thank you!

Beautiful house with everything you could need

Definitely 5 stars! We had a wonderful time at Le Paillere and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. It's a beautiful house and so spacious that a large group of us fit easily. Most importantly though it is so well kitted out for guests, especially families, it had everything we needed and more to sleep children and toddlers, and cook family meals in the large kitchen. Sandy was a pleasure to correspond with about the booking and was incredibly accommodating. Thanks Sandy!

What a house, what a location, what a holiday! The first sight upon entering the driveway is wow. Everything is there to enjoy your holiday in this ultra equipped and very practical spacious house in a fantastic location! Communication with the owners went very smoothly! A 5* holiday!

I would highly recommend a stay at this beautiful house! We were a party of nine and the house was more than well equipped to host us all. Everything you could need had been thought of. We found so much to do, including visits to the local markets, the river beach and the lake. Travelling a little further afield was easy too and we really enjoyed canoeing. We loved the pool and the gardens. The house is so peaceful and a pleasure to relax in Thank you for such a wonderful stay and we hope to return in the future. *****

Home comforts in the Dordogne

Lovely property. Obviously used by the owners as it has all the extras you'd expect if you owned the house yourself. Eg teapot and coffee maker, herbs and spices. The day we arrived it was one of the hottest days, around 37c, but the house was cool. The fans were a great help on that first night. After that the weather collapsed but that's the story of 2022. The pool was used daily and loved by all, The large garden helped provide a peaceful ambience. Great holiday.

Super maison - tout y est!

La maison est très grande, dedans et dehors. Nous étions 10 et étions à l’aise. Les 3 chambres à l’étage ont toutes une salle de bain et les deux du bas s’en partagent une très grande. A l’extérieur, tout est prévu et pensé! Coussins, parasols, table, jeux, balançoire, bbq bref tout ce dont on a besoin en vacances !!! L’endroit est très calme, plein sud, très propre, très bien équipé. La piscine est géniale. Côté pratique, il y a un Leclerc à 5m en voiture. Et pour les visites, il y’a de quoi faire aux alentours. A refaire si on y retourne sans hésiter!

Superbe location tout confort

Nous avons passé 1 semaine à dix dans cette maison ultra confortable et parfaitement équipée. Beaucoup d’espace, il y a plusieurs salles de bain et on ne se marche pas sur les pieds! La cuisine est très pratique, les chambres très agréables, notamment celles du rez-de-chaussée qui ouvrent directement sur le jardin. Point important, malgré la chaleur la maison reste relativement fraîche. Dehors même confort : terrasse, un grand Jardin avec arbres, coins d’ombre, ping-pong et balançoires pour les enfants. Au fond un petit bois mignon. La piscine est très bien, avec une petite cabane à proximité contenant un réfrigérateur et des couverts ; très bien vu pour l’apéritif! Bref on se sent vite chez soi... Merci aux propriétaires

Perfect haven

This is a beautiful house and the owners have created a perfect holiday haven. They have obviously put a lot of thought into furnishing and equipping the property, we couldn’t think of anything that could have improved our stay. The garden and pool complete this piece of Heaven on Earth.

Superb property

This property is excellent for all age groups, our party ranged in age from 6 years old to 74 years old. The house is superb, beautifully presented and comprehensively equipped. We have rented several properties in France previously and this house is easily the best, it is set on a large plot with a very welcome swimming pool for hot sunny days. The booking process was easy and efficient with quick and friendly responses from Sandy so altogether an excellent choice for a multi generational family holiday.

Fantastic family holiday home

We had a lovely family holiday. Three families ranging from 10-72 and we all had an enjoyable stay. The area is so quiet and calm. The pool nice and big (the 10 year old spent a lot of time there!). Shade for the hot weather in the beautiful garden. As a plus this was the best equipped kitchen we've ever stayed in - the drinks fridge a very welcome addition. Really hope we have a reason to stay again. (Finally, communication with Sandy leading up to the holiday was so good and helpful - made me super excited!) Recommend for future holidays.

Superb holiday gite in a beautiful setting

This is most definitely the best holiday gite we have ever stayed in! It is immaculate throughout, beautifully decorated and furnished and equipped with everything you could possibly need - a real home from home. The house is suitable for larger family groups and is exceptionally spacious throughout. The whole family loved relaxing on the new patio area, and in the pool area and there are numerous games to keep children and teenagers entertained in the garden. The location is perfect for exploring the delights of the Dordogne region with its picturesque towns and villages. A fantastic holiday!

We live in England, and have two grown-up daughters: one recently married and working as a primary school teacher, and one at university.

We’ve always loved to travel and often found ourselves drawn to France. After we retired, we decided that we wanted to spend more time in France to enjoy the food, wines and culture of this lovely country, and to improve our conversational French.

We fell in love with this house as soon as we saw it, and count ourselves so lucky to be able to 'escape' to France as often as we can to spend time here.

Villetoureix is a quiet and peaceful location, but close enough to the pleasant town of Riberac, with its variety of small shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, and a popular weekly market.

The northern Dordogne area is relatively unspoilt, and there is a peace and tranquillity to the beautiful countryside in this region. We enjoy visiting the many delightful towns and villages in the locality of Riberac and also further afield, sampling the local cuisine and wines.

The house is also well placed to use as a base for travel further afield within the south-west of France.

Without a doubt the large terrace, 2 acre garden and swimming pool.
The house and gardens are wonderfully spacious and private, and you can feel at home as soon as you arrive. Everything is set out for your comfort and enjoyment.

The pool is so inviting, and kids of all ages can spend hours each day splashing around and having fun. The less-energetic can make the most of the peace, tranquillity and seclusion of the grounds, wandering around and relaxing at leisure. The terrace is perfectly laid out for long, lazy lunches, and tranquil al-fresco dining later in the day.

We also love the style of the property and its spacious feel inside. Upstairs, the 3 large bedrooms are all en-suite, with 2 more bedrooms downstairs, along with a family bathroom that is suitable for elderly or less mobile visitors. The downstairs bedrooms, study and sitting room all have patio-door access to the terrace. The fully fitted kitchen, with separate utility room, is well suited to catering for a large number, and the large terrace at the rear has a fantastic dining table seating 12, with additional settees for lounging.

We really want you to have the most wonderful holiday here, and to love the house as much as we do.
