Location is perfect. Made it super easy to sightsee and pop back if needed to drop something or get ready for our next adventure. Apartment was very clean, bathroom and kitchen are modern. Nice amenties like - tea pot, appliances, towels, great mugs, and ability to charge phone with USB plug-in on bedside table. Spacious - the bed is comfy, plenty of seating for breakfast. You can see the inside courtyard and it's pretty, reminds you that you are in Scotland! To get to the apartment, there are a lot of stairs to climb. Be sure you are able to walk up them and carry your suitcase. We loved the location, building, charm and upgrades inside. Highly recommend.

Wonderful apartment right on the Royal Mile. Location is awesome. Faces the courtyard for a quieter experience. Be ready for lots of steps going up and down. They were worth it!

If you want to stay in the heart of the action, steps from Edinburgh Castle, then this is the property for you. During August, and the tattoo performing nightly- the old town is positively jubilant.

Unfortunately, this flat did not meet expectations. Yes, the location is terrific, and the host was attentive to our queries, but there were three (3) areas that were not to our liking;1). The description should read Sleeps 2 not 4. The sofa bed is not sleep worthy. Even with multiple layers of cushion the feeling of the springs was quite evident. 2). The courtyard below (a stated feature) is hardly visible through the dirty windows in the living room and kitchen. 60% of the windows are virtually opaque and either need a very good cleaning or replacement. The living room carpet looked dirty and had numerous noticeable stains. The flat did have a modern clean kitchen & bathroom but the aforementioned dirty areas overshadowed those. 3). The VRBO site details made no mention of the 4 floors x 20 step spiral staircase to get up to and down from the flat entrance door. Those 80 steps should be mentioned since they are not an enjoyable climb. So, unfortunately, we were disappointed. The location and the host’s communications were excellent but I cannot recommend this flat as priced or advertised until the deficiencies are addressed.
