Ionia Residence is situated in Nea Magnisia, in the heart of the Arkadi municipality. This charming village is perched at a high elevation, offering panoramic views of the sea, verdant valleys, and surrounding villages. Guests can relax in a local kafeneion with a cup of Greek coffee or locally produced raki, and enjoy a traditional meal at the village tavern.

Nearby, the village of Stavromenos offers shops, mini-markets, and taverns, perfect for enjoying a meal or a refreshing drink.

The long sandy beach, located 11 km from Ionia Residence, features sunbeds and parasols, as well as several beach bars. A few traditional taverns along the shore serve Greek cuisine throughout the day. From May to September, the beach is occasionally visited at night by Caretta Caretta turtles during their nesting season.

The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking and exploring. The central location makes it easy to visit nearby attractions, including the monasteries of Arkadi and Preveli, the Minoan Palace of Knossos, the pottery village of Margarites, the Eleftherna Museum, and Melidoni Cave.

Rethymno, just 11 km away, is worth exploring for its historic old town. Its Venetian-era houses, ornate doors, and minarets provide a journey through time. Numerous restaurants, cafés, and shops await visitors, while Fortezza Castle at the edge of the old town offers spectacular views.
