Garden apartment with amazing view at the valley up to the Sea! It has private terrace for dining and sunbathing and access to a large garden with BBQ.

The house is located in the historic centre of Castagneto Carducci, at the very edge of the pedestrian centre just below Della-Gherardesca castle. An excellent choice of restaurants and wine bars, plus basic services like pharmacy, banks, ATM, groceries and food shops are all at walking distance.

The property is high-standard furnished and has access to a stone-wall surrounded garden. Toll parking at 1' walking and Free parking at 4' min walking from the house.
Ester unit is a loft-alike apartment (ca 55 mq), with a 1.20mt half wall separating the sleeping area with fireplace from living/kitchen area. It has a bathroom with separate cabin shower, a table suitable for working, and a terrace with dining table.

Castagneto is a small and charming village centered around Della Gherardesca castle, in the heath of Maremma, with great heritage of ancient Etruscan and Italian renaissance culture. It offers a choice of excellent restaurants, wine bars, wine shops, museum and crafts market. The closest beach of Marina di Donoratico (8km) offers water-sports facilities including beauty farm & SPA Il Tombolo, with thalassotherapy. Wines and olive oil can be purchased directly from producers along the world famous 'road of wine' from C.C. to Bolgheri (10km). Local Festas, wine tastings, and food festivals are organized throughout the countryside from April to November.

The Larger town of Donoratico with supermarkets and the railway station is 3km away (bus service). The area is one of the best medieval hilltop districts, with wooded hills, olive groves, and internationally famous vineyards centred in Bolgheri (10km, bus service). The whole coast is studded with beautiful beaches. Marina di Donoratico (8km, bus service) has typical Tuscany seaside facilities including restaurants on the beach, water-sport facilities, beauty farm Il Tombolo with thalassotherapy & SPA, and "Cavallino Matto" theme park for children. Gulf of Baratti with Etruscan archaeological park of Populonia is 18km away, and sailing facilities of San Vincenzo and Punta Ala marinas are 10 and 30 km away. San Vincenzo harbour (10km) offers night bars and social life. The archaeological area of Populonia in Gulf of Baratti is 18km away. Elba island and its Napoleon's villa can be reached by ferry (0.5 hours) from the port of Piombino, 30 km away.

Although there are regional Bus Lines from Donoratico to all main towns in Tuscany, the car is recommended to fully enjoy the holiday in this district. Towers of San Gimignano and Pisa are 45 and 60 km away, and Siena and Florence 1.5/2 hours by car through beautiful hills of Tuscany. Pisa airport is 60 km away and Florence is 120 km away.
For those coming by train, there is a Bus service from Castagneto Carducci to Donoratico (the closest railway station, 3km).

Wunderschön gelegenes Apartment, mit tollem Blick bis zum Meer( allerdings ist der Blick recht zugewachsen)Corina und ihr Mann waren stets zur Stelle, wenn wir Hilfe brauchten! Das Apartment war klein, aber schön geschnitten und sehr sauber. Es fehlte an Nichts. Leider war es für unser Empfinden sehr, sehr dunkel! Ohne künstliches Licht, war es nicht möglich, sich aufzuhalten. Es war außerdem extrem hellhörig!!! Die Toilettenspülung der Nachbarin rauschte jeden Morgen um 6.00 Uhr an unserem Kopfende vorbei, und die Nachbarn waren doch sehr deutlich zu hören.In der zweiten Woche waren wir glücklicherweise alleine! Der Ort Castagneto Carducci ist wunderschön, mit vielen kleinen Restaurants und einer so tollen toskanischen Stimmung!Unterm Strich war es aber eine sehr schöne Zeit, wenn man sich mit diesen Einschränkungen arrangiert hat! Die Bilder mit der Terrassensituation sind nicht stimmig, da die eine zum Nachbarn gehört! In 10 Minuten schafft man es auf keinen Fall bis ans Meer. Aber der Strand dort ist wirklich fantastisch und ein bisschen mehr Fahrzeit wert!

Perfektes Refugium

Die Zeit in der Fewo haben wir sehr genossen. Die Aussicht auf das nahe Meer war fabelhaft. Ein Ort zum Entspannen und Alltag vegessen. Was nach unserem Empfinden noch wünschenswert ist, ist ein kleiner Backofen. Ansonsten: bellissimo

MIni appartamento molto grazioso con vista

L'appartamento è piccolo, curato e con tutto funzionante. Pulizia all'ingresso ottima. Terrazzino vivibile, con tavolo, piacevole per godersi dei momenti all'aria aperta. Più sotto, raggiungibile tramite una scala molto stretta a cui fare attenzione, un bel giardinetto condiviso, con vista sulle colline e il mare. Abbiamo trovato misleading le foto della proprietà, dove non si evince con chiarezza quali locali raffigurati appartengano all'appartamento piccolo e quali a quello più grande. La proprietà totale infatti viene affittata a corpo unico o suddivisa: noi abbiamo preso in affitto l'appartamento più piccolo, ma ci aspettavamo una struttura e sistemazioni differenti. Non essendo una famiglia, ma tra amici avevamo dunque necessità di privacy differenti (a partire dal bagno, per esempio): consigliamo di suddividere con maggiore chiarezza le immagini nell'annuncio in modo da evitare spiacevoli sorprese in loco. Comunicazioni con la persona che ci ha accolto precise e e puntuali. Alloggio nel complesso (al netto nota foto annuncio) consigliato. Posizione strategica in Castagneto, zona centrale ma comunque monolocale silenzioso.

Schöne Aussicht

Die Wohnung würde ich als "klein, aber fein " beschreiben. Das nötigste hatten wir. Unserer Tochter hat am meisten die Dusche gefallen, gros und separat, was sehr praktisch war. Am besten hat uns die Terrasse gefallen, im Schatten und mit herrlichen Aussichten auf Olivenbäumen und aufs Meer. Da haben wir gefrühstückt und abends meistens Pizza und Schlücken Wein genossen.

Toller Urlaub mit Einschränkungen, durch Wohnung

Die Umgebung ist wunderschön, der Blick von der Terrasse toll. Wir bekamen die kleine Wohnung.ob es sich dabei um die angegebene qm Zahl handelt, weiss ich nicht. Im Vorfeld bei der Kommunikation mit dem Besitzer, gab es etwas Verwirrung, da offensichtlich mehrere Buchungsanfragen eingegangen sind. Leider sind die Bilder in der Anzeige gemischt, so dass wir uns etwas anderes vorgestellt haben. Die Ausstattung der Wohnung ist teilweise ist in die Jahre gekommen. Ein Stuhl am Esstisch war gefährlich kaputt. Der angegebene Parkplatz war ein öffentlicher Platz. Darauf sollte die Anzeige schon eingehen! Der Weg vom kostenlosen Platz ist nicht nah. Die Küche und ihre Einrichtung animiert zum Essen gehen, was in dem schönen Ort keine Schwierigkeiten macht. In dem winzigen Kühlschrank war z.B für eine Sektflasche stehend keine Möglichkeit! ( Wussten gar nicht, dass so etwas überhaupt hergestellt wird) Auch z.B. auf Vorrat einkaufen war mit diesem Kühlschrank eher eine Kunst. Einen Toaster, Mixer usw. sucht man in der Küche vergeblich. Eine Spülmaschine gab es nicht. Die Kaffeemaschine ist, aber für Italien typisch, ein für 2 Personen kleiner Espressokocher. Hier kann man auf dem E-Herd (2 Platten) geduldig die Zubereitung zelebrieren. Das angeschlagene Porzellan ist Geschmackssache und findet bestimmt Liebhaber. Auch den angegebenen DVD Player haben wir nicht gefunden. War aber kein Problem, der schöne Blick von der Terrasse entschädigt dafür. Den Grill nutzten wir nicht, denn es wäre nur an zwei Tagen in der Woche erlaubt gewesen. Die Wohnung ist gut klimatisiert. Das Bett/ die Matratzen sehr gut, die Dusche grosszügig. Wir haben einen schönen Urlaub in der Wohnung verlebt, wobei wir tatsächlich auf Grund der Bilder ( gemischt von mehreren Wohnungen) etwas anderes erwarteten, die Wohnung ohne eigenen Parkplatz niemals genommen hatten und von der Küche inkl der vorhandenen bzw. nicht vorhandenen Ausstattung (nicht mal ein Nudeltopf in Italien!) maßlos enttäuscht waren. Der Vermieter punktet mit der Lage. Die Dame vor Ort, die die Wohnung übergibt, ist sehr freundlich!

Wunderschönes Apartment

Schon die Übergabe durch Corina war so zuvorkommend- wir waren für 15 Uhr verabredet und baten dann sehr kurzfristig darum, schon um 14 Uhr ins Apartment zu dürfen. War kein Problem! Das Apartment war blitzsauber und so gemütlich und schön eingerichtet! große Dusche und Waschbecken/ Toilette/ Bidet waren getrennt, es gibt eine Kammer mit Waschmaschine, Wäschegestell etc., einen schönen Küchen-Wohn/Essbereich mit Klimaanlage und eine große Terrasse mit traumhaftem Blick auf Castagneto und in die Ebene zum Meer. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und kommen bestimmt wieder.

Appartamento vacanze ottimo, in un Borgo medievale incantevole, piccolo ma perfetto per la nostra vacanza. Vista stupenda sulla costa con tramonti eccezionali. Consigliatissimo per coppie che vogliono una vacanza rilassante.

Schöne Wohnung in Top-Lage

Wir waren eine Woche im August in der Ferienwohnung und können sie weiterempfehlen. Die Wohnung befindet sich genau am Anfang der Fußgängerzone und liegt daher hervorragend. Außerdem ist die Terrasse spektakulär schön. Auch der Grill-Bereich ist toll, wir haben ihn ausgiebig genutzt. Die Wohnung selbst ist recht dunkel, aber dafür schön kühl. Außerdem sind sehr viele Lampen und Lichter in der Wohnung verteilt. Die Einrichtung ist schön und zweckmäßig. Auf zwei Dinge sollte man achten: 1. Wenn man die Wäsche nicht mit dazu mietet (für 30 Euro pro Person), muss man nicht nur die Bettwäsche selbst mitbringen, sondern auch die Handtücher und Geschirrtücher. 2. Parken ist nicht einfach, zumindest nicht in der Hauptsaison. Am besten die Via Bolgherese ein Stück nach unten fahren, da findet man am ehesten einen Parkplatz. (Gepäck und Einkäufe kann man direkt vor der Haustüre ausladen). .

Posto incantevole, parcheggio un po scomodo

L'appartamento è l'ideale per una vacanza:piccolo, confortevole e completo du tutto il necessario. Il terrazzino ha una vista spettacolare e si è rivelato perfetto per colazioni e cene all'aria aperta;il giardino in comune invece non lo abbiamo sfruttato. Peccato la camera da letto abbia una finestra che da sul terrazzino dell'appartamento attiguo: nel nostro caso avevamo vicini particolarmente rumorosi e specialmente la sera era come averli a cena in camera! La casa è in postazione strategica per visitare castagneto carducci (praticamente è nel borgo vecchio) e abbiamo anche visitato agevolmente spiagge e pasini vicini; da sottolineare la mancanza di parcheggio riservato che, considerato l'elevato numero di turisti in paese, ha reso problematico trovare un posto per l'auto ogni giorno. Ultimo appunto: il servizio biancheria è scritto essere incluso, ma in realtà ci è stato richiesto il pagamento in loco.

Das Haus bzw Apartment war wunderschön, sauber zweckmässig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet,.der Ausblick einfach herrlich . Impression globale bonne mais appréciation malheureusement mitigée

La situation est excellente, vue exceptionnelle, bien orienté et village charmant et vivant. L'équipement de l'appartement est correct très propre ( taques électriques un peu "limite" cafetière italienne nettement trop petite (juste pour une personne) - La communication complète entre la chambre et la cuisine a comme inconvénient le bruit du moteur du frigo pendant la nuit ...) Le gros problème est la fenêtre de la chambre donnant directement sur la terrasse des voisins et une fermeture acoustiquement totalement inefficace. Avec comme conséquence l'impression de vivre avec les voisins dès qu'ils sont sur leur terrasse (déjeuner, dîner, soirée ... ), et l'obligation de dormir avec bouchons pour oreilles ("boules quies ") . Ce fut la très grosse" déception . Sauf remédiation à ce problème les deux appartements ne devraient pas être loués séparément.Beaucoup de bruit des voisins du dessus également.

Lovely Apartment with Beautiful Views

We had a wonderful holiday in this charming apartment which had everything that we needed for a relaxing holiday. It has superb views from the terrace over the vineyards and olive groves towards the sea. A perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. The village also has plenty of good places to eat. Booking was very straight forward and the agent extremely helpful. Beautiful beaches are just a short drive away and Florence is close enough for a day trip. Would recommend this apartment highly.

A Charming Garden Apartment

A fortnight in the peacefully located Ester provided us with an excellent base on the edge of an attractive medieval town in the Tuscan Coast wine region. Castagneto Carducci was conveniently placed for our visits to Florence (by train) and Siena (by car), though we booked B&B accommodation for the visits to these great cities. We selected March for our stay as we prefer our travels to be out of season, even if most of the local restaurants had yet to open. Ester was well presented on our arrival. It has plenty of space for a couple and is very well equipped for self catering. The décor and furnishings suggest the owner has good taste. We liked the French windows which lead on to a terrace from where there is a splendid view over olive groves and vineyards towards the sea. Electric radiators provide efficient heating. The apartment has a bathroom of adequate size and a large shower area with interesting features! Overall we enjoyed complete relaxation with no interference from the radio, telephone, TV (available if wanted) or internet though wi-fi is available in the town. We spent quite a lot of time reading, completely switched off from the pressures of retired life at home! For us this was a really excellent choice enhanced by the helpful advice of the owner beforehand. Those grandparents who may like to holiday with their children and grandchildren could occupy Ester whilst the latter could be next door in Peter. There is an inter-connecting door and flexibility over the garden use. A car is essential and there is free parking within a couple of minutes walking.

Nice stay in Ester!

We stayed at the apartment Ester in September 2013. The owner showed us the apartment and was very nice. Ester is big and comfortably furnitured with a well-provided kitchen and a big shower. Nice view from the terrace on the sea. Village is also very sweet. Perfect holiday! It is advisable to have a car.

Excellent !!

We had a wonderful holiday here. The apartment had everything we needed and was clean and well-maintained. The location is very good. Castagneto Carducci is a lovely village with good restaurants, bars and cafes. Other interesting towns and the coast are within easy driving distance. The owner was very helpful and we hope to visit again in the future.

perfect place to relax

we had a wonderful time in Castagneto and loved it very much to stay in the comfortable appartment Ester. The last time I stayed in Castagneto was in the year 1985 and I was so surprised that there was only a little change in the lovely old village I remembered. The location of the house and appartment is perfect because there is a lovely view to the west, to the coast, to romantic sunsets and to the sea. If you are able to talk Italien language it is no problem to find contact to the people of Castagneto, to the barista, to the old wine dealer near the fountain, to the old ladies sitting in front of their houses.

We loved it!

We loved everything! We loved the apartment - especially our terrace and the sea view, we enjoyed every minute of it! And felt we really were in Italy. We loved Castagneto Carducci - one of many charming towns in Tuscany. We loved Tuscany - for its landscape, its small towns on the hills, its historical monuments, its vineyards (and the wine of course), for its lovely beaches (Maremma!). So we'll be back! The medieval village of Castagneto Carducci is in the hearth of Maremma, with great heritage of ancient Etruscan and Italian renaissance culture (Gulf of Baratti with Etruscan archaeological park of Populonia is 18km away).

The closest beach of Marina di Donoratico (8km) offers water-sports facilities including beauty farm 'Tombolo' with thalassotherapy and Luna park for children. San Vincenzo port (10km) offers night bars and social life. Local Festas and food festivals are organized throughout the countryside from April to November. Sailing facilities of San Vincenzo (or Punta Ala) marinas are 10 (30km) away.

On top of that, wines and olive oil can be purchased directly from producers of the world-famous wine district of Bolgheri (10km).
